message: confessing to the annoying(ly handsome) suna rintarou!
Tumblr media
In the bustling hallways you found yourself nervously fidgeting with the hem of your uniform. Today was the day, the day you had mustered up the courage to confess your feelings to Suna, the enigmatic and oh so frustrating volleyball player.
As you approached him, your heart raced a mile a minute. Suna noticed your presence and raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. Taking a deep breath, you squared your shoulders, ready to face the challenge head-on.
"Hey, Suna," you began, trying to make your voice sound as nonchalant as possible. "Listen up, because I'm only going to say this once."
Suna's lips curled into a small smile as he crossed his arms, clearly amused by your sudden assertiveness. He nodded, encouraging you to continue.
"I...I've been watching you, you know," you stammered, your cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. "And, well, I've come to realize that I really like you."
There was a momentary pause, the air thick with anticipation. Suna's eyes softened, his smile growing wider. He took a step closer, closing the gap between the two of you.
You raised your eyebrow, surprised by his response. "You have?"
Suna nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Yeah, I've been hoping you'd drop the tough act and let me in. I like you too."
A mix of relief and happiness flooded your being. For a brief moment, a shy smile tugged at the corners of your lips which you quickly concealed. The burden of unspoken feelings was lifted, and a newfound warmth blossomed within you.
"Well, don't get too cocky," you muttered, trying to maintain your demeanor despite the blush creeping up your cheeks.
Suna chuckled, reaching out to gently intertwine his fingers with yours. "I wouldn't dream of it," he said, his voice tender. "But I'm glad you finally let your guard down."
And just like that, the confession turned into a moment of shared understanding and a promise of a new chapter in your relationship. As you walked side by side, the weight of unspoken emotions dissolved, replaced by the comfort of knowing that your feelings were reciprocated.

“I’m- woah!”
It used to be strange seeing Suna at your place of work, but after a while, you got used to it.
What you’re not used to is seeing him in one of your dresses. He has one leg stuck in a stocking. The other firm thigh is already firmly encased in the mesh fabric, topped off with a cute little bow.
Your outfit reveals far more skin on him than it would on you. At 6’1”, he already towers over most girls in the cafe. With heels, he’s a Goliath. Your skirt barely covers him - you have to rush forward to stop him from bending over and inadvertently flashing someone.
“Um. Playing a little dress up?”
He perks up as you pull him upright. “Hey! Your manager said Shizuka’s out sick today, so I offered to step in.”
It’s true that Shizuka’s charm point is her height. Her target audience is men who enjoy a little domination, but Suna might be too much for even them.
He sidles towards you, swaying his hips like a model. It shouldn’t be as hot it is. Suna is unfairly pretty. He pulls off anything.
“What?” He purrs, hot and heavy. You splutter, trying to play it off as a reaction to the fact that he’s trying to come on to you at your work place. “You like what you see?”
He tugs his stocking a little lower, pulls his skirt a little higher.
“Oh- okay!” You squeak out and slap his hand to his thigh, immobilizing him. “That’s enough from you.”
He laughs, flashing you sultry eyes that make your throat dry. “Are you sure, master? I can keep going.”
“I’m going to hit you if you keep going,” you hiss at him.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time,” he says with a grin.
“Suna,” you groan, trying your best to look anywhere but him. “You’re impossible.”
But you love it. And he knows it. He’s weaponizing it against you.
“Come on,” he says with a smile, pulling you out back to the alley behind the cafe. “We have work to do.”
“Correction: I have work to do. You need to change out of my dress and go sit at your usual table.”
“You can’t tell me you’re not-“
“Hold up!” That’s Miya Atsumu’s voice. You freeze. This is exactly what you’ve always been afraid of. Suna’s fine. He’s comfortable to be around. You’ve never once thought that he would leak your secret, even back before you’d known him, but Atsumu would do it even if it wasn’t malicious. You don’t even know him, but you’ve heard of what a blabbermouth he can be.
Suna pushes you behind him immediately, shielding you with his broad back. You’re completely hidden behind him. You feel better but - then where will he hide?
“A maid?” Atsumu whistles. “Hey, pretty thing.”
Your jaw drops. It’s impossible. Atsumu doesn’t recognize him at all. He can’t tell it’s his own teammate in the maid dress. You feel Suna stiffen, too, but unlike you, he’s holding back laughter. He’s not stressed out over the situation at all.
Atsumu’s twin is a little more attentive. Osamu squints at him. “Suna?”
“Dumbass,” Atsumu scoffs. “That’s a girl!”
“Nope,” Osamu says. “I’m pretty sure that’s Suna in a wig and a dress.”
You have to hand it to Suna. He really commits to the bit.
Suna gives Osamu a look of utter disgust and offense. With all the strength in his arm, capable of spiking at insane velocities, he slaps Osamu across the face. Poor Osamu doesn’t even have time to react before his head snaps to the side.
“How dare you?” Suna trills in a falsetto. “I’m a girl!”
Atsumu yelps and reaches for his twin’s hand, dragging him away as fast as he can. Osamu, still stunned, let’s himself be hauled away as he reaches a hand up to the angry red mark on his face.
“Thank you,” you sigh in relief, sagging against Suna’s back.
“It’s fine,” he says, smiling down at you. “That was kind of fun.”
You giggle. “You’re evil.”
“Besides, I don’t like sharing anyway. We can keep this our little secret.’
You will your traitorous heart to stop pounding.

“Yes, master,” you practically bite out the words.
Suna raises an eyebrow at you. “Aren’t you missing something?”
Ugh. This man is insufferable. With a pained smile, you wince through the last part of your mandatory response to orders. “Nya! One Kitty Kitty Paw Parfait coming right up!”
In the back room, you drop to your knees, cradling your head in your hands now that you’re safely hidden from the eyes of your customers.
You have to do it.
You have to kill this man.
There’s no way you can keep serving him these ridiculous orders. You’re going to die of embarrassment. If it’s him or you, you’re going to choose yourself.
Working at a maid cafe only started because of your best friend. She convinced you to do it with her, only to quit a few weeks in. You had stayed, against your better judgement.

ੈ♡˳·˖✶ — MIYA ATSUMU x FEM READER
Being hot at the grocery store should be illegal.
wc — 800
tags — grocery store meet cute, set in the same universe as the way to the heart is through the stomach
Tumblr media
“There is an attractive man on the other side of the grocery aisle,” you hiss at Kiyoko. Your roommate had dragged you out for a grocery run, but as the person who forced you out of the comfort of your home, she could stand to be a little nicer to you.
Instead, she raises an eyebrow; her face conveying utter disdain, confusion, and slight pity at all once. It’s a little impressive, honestly.
She peeks between the cracks in the shelves. Looks at you. Looks at the man. Looks at you again. She makes a motion that could be what are you waiting for or let the grandma pass so she can get her multivitamins.
Sometimes it’s complicated when it comes to Kiyoko. She’s not great at talking without words. It’s because she’s spoiled. Must be nice to have a boyfriend who loves you so fully you don’t have to try to be understood, you think with a hint of jealousy.
Then, she pushes you towards the other aisle in a gesture that’s unmistakable.
“Kiyoko!” You’re appalled. “You’re not making me go over there. I’m wearing my pajamas!”
Your pajamas are grey sweats with multiple suspicious stains from ketchup or blood or some other substance. You’re not sure. That’s why it’s suspicious.
“Okay? He looks worse,” she says. Notably, she doesn’t tell you that you look fine.
She probably thinks that’s reassuring. It’s not.
The fact that he’s also in his pajamas and still looks hot is infuriating.
And very sexy.
Terribly so.
“Just go talk to him,” she says. “You know if you don’t you’ll be thinking about him for days, anyway.”
“I will not!”
“Excuse me,” says the hot stranger, who in the time that you spent arguing with Kiyoko, has suddenly moved behind you. “Do ya mind?”
He’s gesturing at the package of cereal behind you.
You freeze. How did he move so quietly? And had he heard the conversation between you two?
“Hello?” He waves his hand in your face - a little rudely. That deducts one point from his overall hotness score. You scramble away, giving him access to the shelf.
“This is my favorite brand,” he says conversationally, “but my brother got a girlfriend lately, and every time she comes to our apartment she eats all of mine. I’ve told her not to like six million times! And he’s a chef! Why are ya even eatin’ processed junk if ya can get yer professional chef of a boyfriend to make ya whatever ya want? He’s so whipped, I swear.”
“Aren’t- aren’t you also eating processed junk, then?” You say with trepidation.
He brushes you off with a “No, that’s different.”
He’s…a little weird. Who just talks to a stranger like that? You have to admit that confidence is attractive - even if you’re not sure if it’s confidence or narcissism as he continues.
“So, like. Are ya going to ask me out or what?”
You choke on your own spit. He had overheard. There would be no better time for one of these shelves to fall on you and crush you instantly.
“Woah!” Says the hot stranger, who still hasn’t told you his name before commanding you to ask him out. “Ya okay?”
He slaps your back as you wheeze for breath - hard. Is he an athlete in his spare time? How does anyone have that kind of arm strength?
“I-“ You shut your mouth because actually, you don’t know what to say. How do you respond to that?
“Come on,” says Mr. Bad Bleach Job. “I heard ya and yer little friend talking about me all the way down the aisle. I know you want in on this sexy ass.”
He’s ridiculous. Are you - are you into that? You’re seriously reevaluating your mental health even as you say, almost to your own surprise, “Can I take you on a date?”
He wrinkles his nose. “I dunno. Can ya make it a little more romantic?”
“Why don’t you ask me out if you’re going to be so demanding?” You challenge.
“Sure,” he says easily. “Wanna go out? We can get fancy sushi for fun and eat McDonald’s after cause that’s real food.”
Even you can’t tell if the noise that escapes you is a laugh or a sigh. What have you gotten yourself into?
“Whatever,” you say, handing him your phone. “I think mine was better.”
“They both kind of sucked. 5/10 for execution, -2 for sheer cringe, -3 for awkwardness.”
“Kiyoko, read the room.”

ੈ♡˳·˖✶ — MIYA OSAMU x FEM READER
On a bad day, Onigiri Miya becomes your new comfort restaurant. Not only is the food good, but the man who takes your orders is always kind. You think the Miya you’ve been venting to on the phone is the same Miya who shows up at your door to deliver all of your orders.
It’s too bad you don’t know there’s two of them.

The email doesn’t even do you the courtesy of being short. They make you read through two whole paragraphs before you get to the point of it all in the final sentence.
Your termination is effectively immediately.
You sit back in your chair to allow yourself a moment to take it in. It’s…not terrible, all things considered.
You get to leave this job that you hate. They’ll pay you severance. You have enough savings to be comfortable for the next few months.
It might even a blessing.
But it still doesn’t feel good. You worked hard to land this, and now you’ll have to start all over again. Change is always hard, especially when you haven’t asked for it.
You look at the clock. It’s currently 8:30 in the morning. You’re giving yourself exactly twenty four hours to wallow, and then it’s back to business.

their reaction to reader being bold. | lo'ak and neteyam
neteyam -
as you and neteyam walked through the forest, you reached your shared spot. neteyam sat first, pulling you down with him. you sat next to him and sighed.
"how are you?" you asked looking at his face, he shifted his yellow bright eyes to you looking at you thoughtfully.
"im good, i'm with you. so i will always be okay." he stated, shrugging his broad shoulders and looking off into the distance again. you thought, how did he say the most flirtiest thing and be so nonchalant. you guessed at this point he was trying to make you flustered, two can play that sick game...
"that's interesting," you spoke smoothly. he looked at you, and as he was going to speak again you moved yourself to straddle him. his eyes widened and he looked into your eyes as you adjusted yourself. his hands were limp by his sides. you picked up both his hands and placed them on your hips. "there." you put your hands on both sides of his face and leaned in to kiss him, he quickly kissed back leaning into the kiss making your back arch.
"prettiest." he muttered, while pulling away. you blushed slightly, but remembered what you were trying to do. you looked into his eyes through your eyelashes and grabbed his face by his chin making him kiss you again. this time it had more passion. you moved your other hand into his hair, pulling it slightly he moaned into the kiss.
you won at his own game.
lo'ak -
lo'ak took your hands spinning you around in the water. you giggled and he smiled at your laugh. he moved closer to you, pulling you by your waist to over to him. it was night. your face had star like freckles scattered across your nose, a couple on your forehead, and symmetrical ones on your body.
"you are so beautiful." lo'ak spoke lowly, looking over every slight marking on your body.
"thank you." you spoke, smiling and looking away. lo'ak grabbed your face with his hand gently, making you look him in the eye once more.
"no i mean it, your the most breathtaking thing i've ever seen." you didn't know what to say so instead of saying anything back, you grabbed his face with both of your hands and kissed him. he didn't kiss back for a second, but blinked a couple times and kissed back. he laid his hands on your lower back and dipped you. you moved your hands from his face to his neck, moving them to his collarbone, his chest, and finally his abdomen. "so perfect." he spoke, pulling away and pushing his forehead against yours.
"so sexy." you spoke, running from him. he shook his head and chased after you. you could hear him running after you. the bottom of your feet hit the sand and before you know it, your being tackled onto the sand. you laughed until you didn't hear lo'ak's laughter anymore. you opened your eyes to see lo'ak on top of you, with his hands in the sand holding him up from fully laying on you. "kiss me." you spoke joking at first but when he actually did it, you rubbed your hands up and down his back. and into his hair. he pulled away and kissed your collarbone before standing up, offering you his hand.
"don't wanna' start anything you can't finish." he spoke as you took his hand, smirking at you.
"i can finish it, alright." you spoke smoothly, leaving lo'ak behind you with widened eyes and flustered cheeks.

neteyam x female omaticaya reader
(best friends to lovers)
[fluff, soft smut at the end, jealousy]
*this is a super long fic, kinda slow burn but definitely a lot of tension between you and him
Tumblr media
Neteyam. He always liked to call himself your protector and you hated it. You always told him you could protect yourself. It was one of those things that he admired about you. You could do just about anything. You were practically perfect to him. Nothing could ever change his mind about that. You were his best friend, but the pressure he felt everywhere else always stopped him from ever telling you how much he really loved you, how he sees you and no one else.
You and Neteyam were inseparable since the day you met and you thought that it would always be that way. He was the only person that made you feel courageous and shy at the same time, but you did a pretty good job hiding how you felt about him.
Until he told you that he would have to leave the forest.
“How can I stay here knowing that you are out there?” You yelled, tears falling from your eyes.
He stepped forward, yelling back at you, “Y/n, this is for the people, to protect you all. I-“ Neteyam stopped himself when you averted your eyes from him, not wanting to listen.
He took hold of your arms, but you pushed him away. “Do not touch me.”
Still, he inched closer to you, but you backed away, your tears pouring over your face, angry cries escaping from your mouth.
Seeing you cry hurt him, but Neteyam did his best to sound strong, even though the thought of leaving you broke his heart too.
“I cannot let you come with us, y/n! We are being hunted. You must stay here. It is the only way I will know you are protected. It is the only way I will know you are safe.”
You shook your head, your heart breaking as he took his steps toward you. You let yourself stand still as he approached, your hands hitting at his chest as he wrapped his arms around you.
You looked up at him, unblinking, your tone revealing your pained frustration, “Why am I the only one who should be protected? Did you ever think that perhaps I would want to protect you? I want to protect you too Neteyam. You are stupid for thinking I could ever be without you. Stupid.”
You felt out of breath after all that lay in your mind spilt out into the thick air between you. There it was. That courage you always had when you were with him, but as he stood, speechless, only looking at you, you became shy. Just like you always did.
His firm expression softened as he processed your words, his cheeks reddening, his heart racing in response to being so close to you, your foreheads almost touching, and butterflies finding a home in his stomach, whirling around as he looked at you. Butterflies had also found you, flying around as his eyes were on you, and you could not look away for that moment. Your heart matched his, rapidly pacing in your chest, the only thing separating the two of you were your hands still at his chest. You could pretend the butterflies weren’t there and you could pretend that your heart raced because you were angry. Yet, you could not hide the newfound blush that was forming on your cheeks, and once you felt the heat settling on your face, you pushed away from him, your eyes downcast.
“I am going. You cannot convince me otherwise.” You said before quickly leaving the tent, walking off to find Jake and Neytiri.
“Are you sure you want to? You can never come back here.” Jake’s expression was serious, his voice stern.
“What have you always said? Sullys stick together. The sky people killed my family. You are all I have left.” The memory was painful, but it was the truth, and Jake knew it.
Looking at Neytiri, she gave a doleful look, giving him a small nod, then turning to you, “You will come with us.”
When you and the Sullys touched down onto the Awa’atlu Village, the metkayina people surrounded you, tilting their heads at your odd appearance. They had clearly already made up their minds about you all. You were different. Foreign.
Two boys about your age approached you, Lo’ak, and Neteyam, the taller one taking hold of Lo’ak’s tail for a moment and laughing, “Is this supposed to be a tail?”
You eyed them darkly, as they looked at you, Neteyam inching closer to you as they walked by.
“Aonung, Rotxo stop it!” A gentle voice scolded. Looking over, it was a girl, their sister, you assumed.
When the chief, Tonowari, and his mate, Ronal came, the tension in the air was thick as Jake maintained his calm, pleading with the couple to give sanctuary to his family. Ronal’s hesitation worried you for a moment, but hearing Jake’s plea, they agreed to grant you refuge in their home and teach you the their ways.
“My children will teach your children how to live like us.” Tonowari proclaimed, much to Aonung’s dismay.
But, Tsireya, the chief’s daughter, smiled, motioning for all of you to follow, “Come, I will show you where you will live.”
Everyone followed, Jake taking the lead. You observed around you, in awe at how different everything was. People were casting nets out into the sea to fish, children were playing in the water beneath the walkways, and the weapons you could see were spears, not the bow and arrows you were used to, and all around, there were animals swimming peacefully.
After settling down in your hut, Tsireya guided you all toward the edge of one of the docks, starting your first lesson in the water. Her and her brothers dove into the water, Lo’ak and Neteyam following after them, then you, Kiri, and Tuk last.
While the others seemed to struggle more, you and Kiri were able to hold your own in the water almost instantly. The others swam after Tsireya and her siblings, but you stayed with Kiri, mesmerized by the creatures in the ocean. While Kiri did her usual thing, admiring the animals and plants, you simply loved how it felt to be submerged in the water, staring up at the surface, the sun creating glimmers in your surroundings.
It didn’t take long for everyone to realize the two of you had strayed off, but Tsireya was able to find the two of you quickly, and when you noticed her and the others coming, you nudged Kiri, swimming up to the surface with her.
Breaking the water, Neteyam swam to you, taking hold of your arms, his face etched with worry. “Do not scare me like that. You could have been hurt.”
“I am fine. I am not a baby.” You pushed him away lightly, your eyes bilious for a moment before softening as he continued to survey your face, making sure your weren’t hurt anywhere, “I’m sorry for worrying you.”
You and him still had not discussed what happened at the tent, so you both pretended like everything was fine, but the tension between the both of you was painfully obvious to everyone else. Lo’ak and Kiri glanced at one another, giving each other a knowing look.
Tsireya continued to teach you all, from breathwork to their sign language. Once the sun began to set, you went your separate ways. Heading back to the tent, Jake and Neytiri were on the floor, urging you all to sit and eat.
The day felt long, but you were determined to adapt, ready for whatever the next day had in store for you.
Everything was slowly becoming second nature to you as days passed. You fell into a comfortable rhythm with the others in the village, finding your way in the water, and connecting with the animals around you. Even breathing the metkayina way had become easier, but Neteyam still struggled slightly, and it was you who would help him practice.
You and Neteyam were in what you guys decided would be your spot on the island. You found it while the two of you were exploring the reef, you diving just a little too far down and Neteyam, worried beyond belief, catching up to you. There was a cave, hidden behind the giant anemones and coral, and somehow, entering it, you found that the cave itself was not submerged in water, preserving the air for you to breathe in. You and him were sitting across from each other, the pool of water that would lead you back out into the reef beside you, rippling slightly at the echoing in your voices.
“No, no you’re doing it wrong. You keep breathing from your chest. You have to slow your heart rate down and breathe from below.” You instructed, demonstrating it yourself.
“I know! I know. I’m trying. Why are you so bossy?” Neteyam replied, knowing the comment would irritate you.
“Maybe I would not be so bossy if you could do it right!” You let out in annoyance. Neteyam only laughed, amused at how easily he could get under your skin.
“You laugh now, but when you are drowning I won’t save you.” You punched him in the chest lightly, trying to keep a straight face. He had one of those laughs that made you want to laugh too.
Rolling his eyes, he scoffed, “Really? You would let your protector drown? I don’t think so.”
Annoyed, you pushed him again, “Or maybe I should just kill you now.”
He raised his eyebrows cockily, and again, you brought your hands up to hit him, but he dodged, grabbing your arms instead. Using all your body weight, you drove him back, sending him downward on the ground with you on top of him. The action caught him off guard and he let go of your arms and taking the chance, you pinned him down.
“It is just too easy.” You let out, a satisfied grin on your face. “Fine, fine you win.” Neteyam muttered. He was about to sit up, but you moved ever so slightly on top of him, making his breath hitch. He looked away from you, feeling his whole body heat up.
You mistook his actions, laughing maniacally, “Don’t tell me you are out of breath from just that?” You teased, putting your head on his chest, the sound of his heart beat rapidly beating against your ear.
“And your heart is beating so fast too.” You continued, bringing your head back up to look at him, but as you did, you realized your closeness, bringing a scarlet hue to your cheeks. You hadn’t been this close since the day at the tent.
Your gaze only made things worse for Neteyam, his tail raising underneath him at the movement, making him sit up quickly, taming it down before it brushed against you.
His face was red now, and with a frustrated sigh, he finally looked at you, “Of course my heart is beating fast. I’m with you.”
When the words spilled out of his mouth, he instantly regretted it. This was not how he wanted to tell you how he felt. His words came out too messily and he was ashamed.
You blinked at him, that shyness revealing itself again, his words stirring butterflies in your stomach.
“What do you mean?” You whispered softly, but he couldn’t bring himself to look at you.
You spoke again, leaning forward and placing your hand on his chest, “Neteyam, tell me.”
Clearing his throat, he spoke, trying to sound confident, “We should get going. I should go check on the others, make sure they are not causing trouble.”
You knew that was a lie.
You got up and he followed suit, still avoiding your eyes, “Neteyam—“But, he didn’t speak another word, only managing a weak smile at you, pretending he wasn’t bothered.
When you got back to the village, Neteyam said goodbye to you, hastily walking away. You followed him though, practically running through village. You were so focused on catching him you didn’t notice Kiri calling your name.
Grabbing your arm, she finally caught your attention, sensing the panic in your body language. “Y/n what’s wrong?” She asked, concern painted in her eyes.
“It’s Neteyam. He’s acting weird and I don’t know why. He just… ran away from me.” You explained, putting your hand on your head as you tried to piece together what happened.
Kiri rubbed your back, “I’m sure everything’s fine. You know Neteyam. Sooner or later he’ll tell you what’s on his mind. Especially if it’s you. I wouldn’t worry too much.”
You nodded at her words, taking a deep breath. “Why don’t we go into the water before dinner. It will be a good distraction. You smiled, nodding as she took your hand and led you to shore.
You planned on diving into the water but Kiri noticed something in the sand and as if she was entranced, she laid down, “Come, (y/n) look!”
Submerging her head in the water, she fixed her eyes on one spot and taking a breath, you did too, lying on your stomach across from her.You weren’t exactly sure what you were looking at, but you stayed with Kiri, observing what was in front of you intently. The two of you stayed like that for a while until the sound of voices made you lift your head out of the water.
It was Aonung and three other boys. You rolled your eyes, “What do you want?”
Kiri finally lifted her head, confused as to what was going on.
Aonung kept a vile smirk on his face, his eyes going back and forth between the two of you. “Nothing, we just wanted to see what the two freaks were doing.”
You grabbed Kiri’s hand and began walking to the shore, turning your head toward the boys, “Funny, I was just about to say the same thing to you.” You spat back, Kiri laughing at your response.
The comment clearly angered them all as they stomped behind you, Aonung gabbing Kiri’s arm as a retaliation.
“Hey, get your hands off her!” You yelled, but he only laughed, his eyebrows raised slyly.
From the way you were balling up your fists, Kiri could tell you were beyond pissed now, taking hold of your arm to pull you away, “Come on y/n let’s go.”
You could have listened, but instead you threw a punch that caught Aonung off guard. Aonung and the rest of his boys stepped forward, but Lo’ak and Neteyam appeared to finish the fight, Lo’ak throwing another punch and Neteyam jumping in to help. Eventually, one of the men of the village noticed, breaking up the fight and sending you back to Jake.
As the three of you approached the hut, Jake turned to you, his face disappointed.
Neteyam watched his father, stepping forward, “This is my fault sir.”
“No it’s not. You gotta stop taking the blame for this knucklehead,” pointing at Lo’ak who looked away. “Go apologize. I don’t care how you do it.”
“But dad!—“ Lo’ak protested, but you stepped forward.
“Do not blame your sons. This is my fault, Jake. Aonung called Kiri a freak so I punched him first. It is me who should apologize.” You admitted, looking down at your feet.
“I expect this from these two, but not you y/n. You should know better. You both go apologize.” Jake scolded, his tone clearly frustrated.
You and Lo’ak nodded your heads before walking out of the hut.Lo’ak groaned, “Ugh. I can’t believe we have to say sorry to him.”
You slung your arm over his shoulder, “Let’s just get it over with, okay?” You gave him a reassuring look, which seemed to make him relax.
Appearing next to you, Neteyam slung his arm around your other shoulder, “Hey, you okay?”
You leaned the boys’ heads toward yours, hugging them both before grabbing their ears and pinching.
“Ow! Ow! Y/n that hurts!” Neteyam whined, his brother echoing the same cry.
“You guys are such a pain in my ass.” You lamented, before finally letting go.
“You’re the one who punched him first!” Lo’ak complained.
“Yes, but who came in and kept punching?” You retorted, the two of them avoiding your gaze.
You chuckled, “Thank you for doing that. It was stupid, but… you guys looked cool.”
Neteyam scoffed cockily, “Of course we did.” You glanced over at Neteyam, his mouth formed in a satisfied grin.
“Well, come on,” You motioned over to Lo’ak, “let’s go apologize.” You huffed.
“Y/n, wait” Neteyam called, grabbing your hand, you turned, your eyebrows raised expectantly.
Clearing his throat, he spoke, “When you come back, I have to tell you something.”
You nodded, “Wait for me at our spot, okay?”
Letting go of your hand reluctantly, he agreed, waving to you as you both walked away.
“I’m sorry I hit you. So many times.” Lo’ak apologized, and you reluctantly said sorry too, trying not to look indifferent. The boys looked at one another before accepting his apology.
You motioned for Lo’ak to follow you, but Aonung did something you did not expect.
“So what do you say? We are going hunting. Outside the reef. It is where the men hunt. Are you coming?” Aonung coaxed, glancing over at the other boys mischievously.
“No way. I’m not allowed.” Lo’ak said, starting to guide his ilu toward you.
Calling out, Aonung struck a nerve in Lo’ak, “I must be talking to the wrong brother then.”
Without any hestiation, Lo’ak turned around, “Let’s do it.”
You grabbed him, sensing something wrong, you gave Lo’ak a warning look, “Lo’ak, let’s go.”
He pushed you away, swimming after Aonung and the boys. Groaning, you looked back at the village before diving to follow them.
When you had reached Three Brothers Rocks, you dove after the boys, watching as Aonung began to swim up to the surface.
“What are you doing?” You hissed, your expression dark. Saying nothing, they only laughed, taking off on their ilus, leaving you and Lo’ak to the boundless ocean.
Not long after, Lo’ak surfaced, confused to find only you in the water, “Where are they?”
“Gone.” You flared, trying to calm yourself down as anger set its threshold in you.
Hopping on your ilus, you began to swim back, but a force from underneath the water sent you and Lo’ak flying, off of your ilu and back into the depths. As the water settled around you, you could finally see what had sent you back, a creature, intent on killing you both. You and Lo’ak glanced at one another quickly before swimming toward the coral, taking refuge in its labyrinth. The creature charged, biting the coral to get to you, but you continued to move inward. When it reached a point that it could not break, the creature retreated briefly, giving you a moment to calm yourself to control your breath.
You looked at Lo’ak, but you could tell he was panicking and you grabbed hold of him gently to reassure him. It seemed to work, but you knew he had reached his threshold of breath. You urged him upward quickly, hoping that the creature would not come back. Freeing yourself from the coral, you reached the open water, continuing to push him up. But, the creature had waited for you, turning its body to face the two of you. Grabbing your knife, you held it up, bringing Lo’ak behind you, but your chance to use it never came as another animal came, charging and killing the creature.
A tulkun.
Suddenly, you felt Lo’ak’s body go limp behind you, and you caught him, holding him as you approached the surface. The tulkun swam underneath you, taking you to the surface on its fin.
Once you broke the water, you breathed in deeply, turning Lo’ak over and pushing on his stomach, expelling the water trapped in his lungs. He coughed violently, before sitting up. Taking in his surroundings, unsure if he was alive or not.
“We survived.” You breathed, “Thanks to this tulkun.”
Its clicks sounded through the air in response and you smiled, looking into its eye, you signed, “Thank you for saving us.”
Lo’ak signed too, stroking above its eye.“Hey, look.”
You slid off its fin, observing the harpoon stuck in its flesh. Lo’ak gave an apologetic expression, his eyes sad from the sight. The two of you took it out, and the tulkun clicked radiantly as a thank you.
You were intrigued by the tulkun, watching as Lo’ak signed to the creature. You smiled as you watched him make a connection with it, but as you waded longer in the water, a stinging pain began to burn on your back.
“Agh—“ You hissed, pushing your hair away to reveal a large cut across your back. Seeing the cut, Lo’ak’s eyes widened, “We need to get you back to the village,” Turning, Lo’ak faced the tulkun, “Please take us to the village.”
As you swam, the salt water burned into your wounds, but you were able to bear it, gritting your teeth when the pain would intensify. The tulkun stopped at the edge of the village, and you both said goodbye to your new friend.
It was Neteyam who figured out you were both missing. When you didn’t show up at your guys’ spot, he knew there was something wrong. One of the warriors surveying the water caught sight of the two of you, taking you on the back of their boat to the edge of the docks where everyone was waiting.
When you saw Aonung, your expression was vicious, hissing at him as Lo’ak was readying himself to fight again, but Jake pushed the both of you back and Neytiri approached the two of you angrily. Your disdain was fixed on your face until you saw Neteyam, who could only apologize for not being there, his eyebrows furrowed in deep shame.
Jake and Neytiri scolded their son, apologizing for Lo’ak in front of Tonowari, but he refused. Tonowari knew Aonung knew better than to take Lo’ak outside the reef, and urged that it was his son to blame.
You felt relieved hearing this, but that feeling vanished once Lo’ak spoke.
“No sir. This is my fault. Aonung tried to talk me out of it, but I didn’t listen.” Lo’ak lied.
“Lo’ak!” You piped in disbelief.
Jake sighed, taking Lo’ak by the arm and Neteyam turned his attention to you, helping you up onto the dock. You and him walked forward, but a sudden shot of agonizing pain surged through you, your vision fading to black as your mind began to shut off, “Neteyam.” Your voice breathy and weak as he looked over at you, catching your body as you fell, your mind finally sending you into darkness.
When you finally awoke, you were lying down in a hut you had never been in before, the sun shining on your face as you opened your eyes. The pain in your back was gone and you took a deep breath in.
“You’re awake! She’s awake! She’s awake!” You heard, looking over to find Tuk beside you.
Then suddenly, the Sully children gathered around you, relief washing over their faces as you sat up.
Neteyam who had been standing in front of the hut rushed to you, kneeling and taking your hand in his, “I am so happy you are alright,” He beamed, smiling at you.
You beamed back, quickly repositioning yourself to hug him, sending him backward onto the ground.
“Okay. Barf. I’m leaving.” Lo’ak said, rolling his eyes at the two of you before walking out of the hut, Kiri and Tuk following after him.
You paid no mind to Lo’ak, your attention focused on Neteyam. You were not sure how long you had been unconscious, but it must have been agonizing for him, and the thought of him being in such pain caused you heartache. You leaned into his ear, your voice quiet as you spoke, “I am sorry for worrying you again.”
Your breath on his ear sent an instant flush to his body, concentrating at his cheeks, painting them a shade of pink. He gulped, trying to calm himself down. With you still on top of him, he sat himself up, never taking his eyes off you.
Sheepishly, he shook his head, “No, do not apologize. I am just…” he paused, taking a second to study your face admiringly, “I am just happy that you are alright.”
You laughed, standing up and holding your hand for him to take, “You already said that.”
He took your hand lifting himself up, sighing as he now stood, “Even at a time like this, you love to tease me.”
“Of course. I was knocked out for a while. I must make up for the lost time.” You joked, earning a laugh from him.
You guys stayed in a comfortable silence before you remembered the conversation you had before you left.
“Neteyam, before…you said you wanted to tell me something.”
“Right…” He began, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, “Y/n, I wanted to tell you…”
You stepped forward, looking at him expectantly, “Yes?” He took your hand, gulping as he tried to piece the words together in his mind, “I wanted to tell you I—“
“Y/n.”
At the sound of your name, you pulled away from Neteyam, looking over at where the voice had come from.
Seeing who the voice belonged to you rolled your eyes. “What do you want Aonung?”
“I-I— can I talk to you for a second?” Neteyam looked your way, tilting his head as he wondered what you were going to do.
You let a breath in, “Fine, fine. Let’s talk.”
You walked toward the entrance of the hut, but Neteyam put a hand on your shoulder, “If you do not want to talk to him, you do not have to.”
“Who said I was going to talk to him? Maybe I’ll just hit him.” You grunted, giving him a reassuring look.
Neteyam knew what you meant, giving Aonung a warning look before exiting the hut.
When Aonung stepped inside, you could feel your anger returning to you as you looked at him, but you did you best to hold it in, “What do you want to say?”
“I am sorry. For treating you the way I did and for what happened to you.” His head was downcast, and seeing that annoyed you.
“If you want to apologize to someone properly, look them in the eye.” You hissed, placing your hand on his chin, you forced his gaze.
You expected him to be smirking like he usually did, but he wasn’t. His expression was, for the first time, apologetic.
“I’m sorry. I mean it. I-I really am.” It was all he could find himself to say, keeping his eyes locked on yours.
You studied him for a moment, still in disbelief. “It is hard for me to accept your apology, but for the sake of peace, I will.”
Outside, Neteyam watched you and him from a distance, wondering what conversation the two of you could be having for you to hold his chin the way that you were. He could feel a sense of unease rise within him as he watched.
“What are you doing?”
Jumping, Neteyam turned around to find it was only his younger brother, his face curious.
Looking back at the hut, Neteyam grunted coolly, “Nothing.”
Following his gaze, Lo’ak smirked seeing you and Aonung in the hut, “Are you jealous big bro?”
“I am not. Me? Jealous? Of him? No way.” He replied defensively.
“Really?” Lo’ak glanced again behind his brother, turning him around, “So that doesn’t bother you at all?”
Aonung stepped closer to you, putting his hand out, “Friends?” Aonung said.
You grabbed hold of his arm, “Friends.”
Neteyam gulped, but did not want to give Lo’ak the satisfaction of being right, “They are probably just making up. That does not means anything.”
Lo’ak, amused, continued to joke, “You better hurry up bro. He’s already making moves on her.”
“Shut up.” Hitting his brother on the shoulder, scowling.
“What’s happening?”
It was Kiri with Tuk by her side. Lo’ak couldn’t resist making fun of his brother again.“
Neteyam’s jealous because Aonung is talking to y/n.”
“I am not!” Neteyam protested.
“Come on, just admit it.” Lo’ak nudged, sparking another flow of arguments between the boys.
“This is so stupid.” Kiri said, rolling her eyes.
Tuk, who only caught ins and outs of the conversation, only really cared when she heard your name and had also caught sight of you at the same time.
“Oh look it’s y/n! She’s about to get in the water. Come on, Kiri, let’s go to her!” Tuk begged, latching onto her sister’s arms, running to where you and Aonung were.
The boys had finally stopped arguing, Neteyam running with his sisters in an attempt to catch you, but you and Aonung were already in the water with your ilus, swimming fast and far from them. Aonung had challenged you to a race and you couldn’t help but accept.
Neteyam was about to jump in the water too, but Kiri stopped him, “My god, you really are jealous. You’re really going to follow her?”
Neteyam scoffed, “That doesn’t mean I’m jealous.”
But even he knew that what he was saying was a lie, his siblings groaning at his response.
They elected to wait for you on the shore, Tuk running quickly, urging her siblings to hurry up, Neteyam trudging behind everyone.
Aonung was fast, catching up to you as you distanced yourselves from the village, but you were determined to win and as Aonung approached, tailing your ilu, you had built up enough momentum to shoot forward toward victory.
Disconnecting from your ilu, you got out of the water, a satisfied grin plastered on your face. The minute the Sullys saw you emerge from the water, they made their way over, Tuk running to you excitedly.
“Guess who just beat Aonung in an ilu race?” You said to her playfully, picking her up and spinning her. She giggled, sticking her tongue out.
Aonung stepped forward, scowling, “That was just beginner’s luck.”
“Maybe, but you still lost. You should not have triggered my competitiveness.” You sneered, putting Tuk down.
Lo’ak and Kiri gathered around you, proudly whooping as you approached, but Neteyam stood behind you all, his arms crossed, eyeing Aonung as he stood beside you, too close for his liking.
“I want a rematch.” He challenged.
But you shook your head at him, “I must refuse. I would not want to embarrass you a second time.”
At closer glance, you suddenly looked different to Aonung. The sun was reflecting off of you, your wet skin glistening, your smile radiating as you continued to tease him in front of everyone. You looked pretty to him.
He wanted to keep being around you, staring as the newfound thought stained his cheeks with a faint blush, a sudden confidence taking over him, “If you won’t race with me again, then go for a dive with me instead.” Holding out his hand to you, he nudged for you to take it.
Seeing this, Neteyam uncrossed his arms, his eyes shot at you as he waited for your response, hoping you would refuse.
You looked at his hand, then at him, tilting your head.
“Right now?” You asked, and he nodded eagerly.
Not waiting for your answer, he took your hand anyway, leading you toward the ocean, “Come on.”
“Wait, Aonung—“ You began, but you were interrupted as Neteyam came up beside you, pulling you closer to him, breaking you away from Aonung’s grasp.
Calling his ilu, he sat you in front of him, telling you to hold your breath before taking off, leaving everyone on the shore stunned.
Aonung watched as the two of you disappeared and once everyone processed everything, Lo’ak patted Aonung’s shoulder. “Sorry man, you never stood a chance.”
You were facing Neteyam as he rode, watching him as he concentrated on where he was going, his eyebrows furrowed and his mouth slightly pursed. You looked at your surroundings, recognizing familiar structures of coral, and you smiled. You knew where he was taking you.
When you arrived at the entrance of your spot, Neteyam disconnected from his ilu, taking your hand and leading you into your cave. Breaking water, you both took a breath, his hand still in yours, you tightened your grip around it, causing him to look at you. You swam toward the edge of the pool, pulling him with you. The two of you pulling yourselves out of the water.
You took his hands into yours, feeling the heat in you rising and the butterflies in your stomach coming back to you, fluttering quietly as you waited for him to say something.
But Neteyam stood, speechless, looking at you, admiring you. He owed you so much, but did not know what to say, too abashed by the feelings that arose every time the two of you were this close.
“Why did you do that?” You asked softly, caressing his hand. But you felt you knew the answer. You just hoped that what you felt was true.
“I didn’t like it.” He let out nervously, your confused expression begging for him to say more.
“I didn’t like the way he was looking at you, how we was holding your hand. I-I hated it.” His head was downcast, ashamed at such childish feelings.
You took one of his hands up, placing it on your chest where your heart was. The movement made him look at you, his mouth open in surprise and the familiar heat in his face intensifying.
“Do you feel how my heart beats?” It was beating fast and was only growing in pace as Neteyam kept his soft gaze on you.
He nodded, looking at you with a dreamy smile, which you happily returned.
You placed your hand on his chest, feeling as his heart beat matched yours, “My heart beats like this because of you.”
You let go of him, turning away. It was only when you did this that Neteyam realized just how your warmth affected him, how cold it would suddenly feel when you weren’t beside him.
”But, you must choose me, Neteyam. There are many women, all beautiful women for you to choose.”
Neteyam shook his head, approaching your turned back, his voice confident, “I do not want another woman. I only want you, y/n.”
Instantly, you faced him, smiling brightly, taking his hands into yours again, returning the warmth around him, around the both of you. It wasn’t a feeling that Neteyam wanted to let go of.
He leaned in, pressing his lips against yours, letting go of your hands and instead taking hold of your waist, his grip tightening as he pulled you closer. As you wrapped your arm around his neck, you felt his tail brush against your leg, the movement slow, loving. You let out a slight moan, making Neteyam only deepen the kiss. The heat between the two of you burned with every movement, Neteyam lowering your bodies to the ground, taking hold of one of your legs as you wrapped it around him.
You weren’t sure how long the two of you laid together, but once you pulled away, the two you let silence fill the cave, your foreheads touching as you embraced. Neteyam grabbed his queue from behind him, and you leaned back, watching as he brought it in front of you.
“I see you.”
You brought your queue in front of you, looking at him before making the bond.
“I see you.”
When you felt the bond, your entire being connected with his, every sensation between the two of you charging as the amorous look in his eyes sent your heart into a frenzy. Neteyam, still with his forehead to yours, kissed your cheek before etting his lips explore every part of you. You closed your eyes with every touch, the core of you reaching a new state of bliss. Returning, Neteyam brought his lips to yours again and you savored the feeling, another wave of heat ready to burst in you. You reached down, and Neteyam pulled away, his look unsure, but you nodded reassuringly, bringing his head back down to connect your lips once more. There was nothing between you now, the little space that you once had now gone as Neteyam pushed into you, his movements passionate and loving. Your hand was at his back, the other clutching his hair as he kept going. The closeness between you and the love you could feel conjured up tears in your eyes, a moan escaping your mouth at every motion, your toes curling as the momentum continued, building and building until finally you both reached your bliss.
Pulling away breathlessly, Neteyam looked at you again, and not being able to contain how happy he was, smiled warmly at you before peppering your cheeks with kisses.
You giggled, lifting yourself up, him holding onto you. still, your tails curling around each other.
“So, this was how you felt… all this time?” You asked innocently, only wanting him to hear him say it one more time.
Taking your cheek in his hand, a mischievous smile took over his lips, “If it wasn’t clear…I can show you again.” His eyes suggestive as he raised his eyebrows.
You rolled your eyes at him, lifting your arm to punch him lightly, but he grabbed it, pulling you in for another kiss. You relaxed under his grasp, but gently pulled you away.
“You can’t just kiss me now every time you say something stupid.” You tried to sound firm, but your heart was turning to mush by the second.
He leaned in, kissing your cheek gently before resting his head on the crook of your neck.
“I am yours now, y/n. All my kisses belong to you now, so I have to deliver.”
“Hmm… I don’t know, I think I’m still gonna go for a dive with Aonung after this.” You teased, he lifted his head, looking at you in disbelief.
“Don’t even joke about that.” His voice serious, as you put a hand to your mouth, trying not to laugh.
“I’m kidding. I’m kidding. I’m yours, okay? I’m yours.”

Love at First Scare!
(This is an original fic! I did see a enemies to lovers request today which I will get to later!)
Jo’ak x F!Metkayina!Reader
Warnings?: Enemies to Lovers, Fluff, smidge of angst (idek), long fic, little OOC? Idk, not proofread
Summary: Y/N loved to scare the people around her clan. But what happens when the forest boy scares back?
Tumblr media
(First Person POV)
`✵•.¸,✵°✵.。.✰——— ✰.。.✵°✵,¸.•✵´
The seas swayed back and forth gracefully, but with disruption. With uncertainty, with carelessness. Ever since the forest people have come to our village these waves sway with disruptive thoughts.
At first I was as uncertain as everyone else was. However I felt curious also intrigued by these people, itching to learn more about them. Maybe it was our chief who surrounded this Jakesully with familiarity and spoke high of the him to us. Maybe it was the chief’s daughter, Tsireya, and her warm, fearless welcome that told me to not be scared.
Or maybe, it was certain reckless boy?
And the first one I talked to, well…not exactly talked to. Everyone in my village was wary of me, looking around corners for me. It is my fault for these behaviors, for I love a good scare that can cause someone to jump and fall silly. It chokes me good laugh. I attempted one of my good scares of the day was when the boy and his older brother were exploring the village:
I swam under the walkway to see their feet with down the path with each step. With one strong move to my tail, I spring out of the water.
“BLAAAAAA!!!!!” I screamed while attempting to grab the boys foot to pull him down, although it seemed I didn’t need to do much, as the boy jumped in fear bumping into his brother and falling into the water.
“AAaaaAAAaarg!!” The boy and his brother’s scream was silenced by the water.
“Hahahahahaaah!!” I couldn’t contain my laughter as I hopped on to the walkway looking for the boys. They both popped out of the water looking up at me with confusion and anger. “Oh…come on! You should’ve seen your faces!! This is my warm welcome to our village!” I said while “trying” to suppress my laughter. Before I had time to dive into the water I heard a high pitch yell for my name… uh oh.
“Y/N! Why couldn’t you wait until later for this!! They’ve been through enough!” Tsireya said as she approached my hunched over figure. I stood up turning my back to the boys as they struggled to get back on the walkway.
“Oh come on Tsireya! I thought you would’ve told them by now! Tell them my SiNceRe apologies.” I bowed in front of her as the boys walked towards us, just then Tsireya lightly pushed me into the water while rolling her eyes. “Well you’ve done your silly duties now off you go!” She said while watching me swim away into the depths of the ocean.
(Third Person POV)
Tsireya apologized to both boys and proceeded to explain who Y/N was and her annoying antics across the village. As Tsireya continue to explain and apologize, Lo’ak had one question circulating his mind.
“Has anyone scared her before?” Lo’ak said abruptly, Tsireya looked up at him with thought and replied.
“Well others have scared her in attempt for revenge but it doesn’t stop her, if anything it just encourages it.” Just then Lo’ak turned around and walked in determination. He already has enough on his plate with is father, the chiefs son relentless bullying, and having to learn the ways of the reef people. At least he can have a little bit of fun with this.
“Doesn’t stop her? We’ll see about that.”
(First Person POV)
`✵•.¸,✵°✵.。.✰——— ✰.。.✵°✵,¸.•✵´
The sun began to rest as night awakened the glowing plants and the sounds of creature running about. Everyone around the village was sleeping soundly or making food for their loved ones. My mother had tasked me with the job of carrying out a basket of fish that father caught this morning, we had enough to share with others.
I began to climb up to our neighbors using one arm holding the basket while the other helped me clim-
“BOOO!!” The sudden shout along with the thrashing of the robes going back and forth caused my to jump and fall all the way down to the walkway with a gasp. The basket that was once in my arm was now sideway as the fish started to make their way back to the ocean. My eyes widen at this and I scrambled to gather all the fish in time, the last fish jumped and slapped me in the face. With that I heard laughter above me, so I looked up only to see the boy I scared earlier. Oh the anger was beginning to boil.
“Ha! You should see your face!” He chuckled, and with that he walked pass me with pride. At the same time I heard the giggles of my neighbors who witnessed the entire scene.
Yes, others tried to scare me for revenge but this…this felt different. A foolish, reckless, and charmi- what? Ahem. This stupid boy still managed to scare me! I left the basket at the bottom of the neighbors tent and walked away frustrated into the night.
`✵•.¸,✵°✵.。.✰——— ✰.。.✵°✵,¸.•✵´
And thus, began the scaring battle between me and forest boy..
One of us would observe the other for period of time before jumping at the opportunity to embarrass the other, bonus points if others are watching. What started out as a light hearted scare became all out war between me and him. However, overtime I began to hide and linger after each scare just to see his reaction a little longer. Just his reaction…just that.
One afternoon, my father sent me into the reef to hunt for fish, a task he believed was important no matter how many times it is done. I hopped on my llu on rode into the water, going further and further into the reef. The llu dived suddenly until it hit the sand far beneath the sea and waited for me. I let go of the llu, my feet touching the sand as I grab my hunting weapon and watched the llu fly through the water not too far from me. I swam over to a near by rock grabbing the edges to pull me faster behind it, and waited.
As time passes, so does the fish as they begin to swim in groups or alone in front and around me. I watched carefully as one fish in particular swam slowly and gracefully just a few feet in front of me. This would be fish that will make fathers jaw drop, he would probably wonder how I even carried it back to land, but I shall think of that when it’s body stops moving.
I raised my hunting weapon slowly, floating in the water, the only thing moving is my hair. I looked at the fish, it’s scales, it’s eyes, it’s fins, it’s gills. Everything seemed to have slowed down, the sound of nothing is pleasant as the waves above move with certainty. I almost forgot I was underwater, about to take a breath to calm myself fully, luckily I stopped myself and continue to focus on the fish.
My finger began to press on the trigger.
The fish.
The fish.
As quick as a llu I felt an arm wrap around my waist and pull me away from the rock as my weapon triggered and the arrow flew and missed. The arm around me jerked my back to someone’s chest, I nearly choked on the water as I heard a familiar sound that was muffled by the water around us.
“bOo!” I heard near my ear, I turned back only to OF COURSE see my sworn enemy.
Forest boy.
I pushed him back, trying to see if I caught the fish, but the fish was gone. As if it never existed. I huffed, bubbles floating out of my mouth as I swam back up with forest boy following behind. As I reached the surface I turned my head towards him as he popped his head out of the water, I splashed him using my arm.
“YOU…you..!” I tried to form the words but was cut off.
“You what? You won so stop scaring me!” He said mocking me by trying to use my voice. He began to laugh as I once again splashed him.
In the midst of his laughing, I looked over his features… I mean! He’s not an ugly boy.. quite.. cute and charming. The dark blue of his skin fits him almost blending in the night sky, and with eyes like stars that can you stare at as-
“So…are you gonna declare defeat or keep looking at me as if I’m headless?” The boy said, realizing what he just said I gathered water under my mouth and spat it at him.
“Ew! Wha-?!” He exclaimed, copying my tactics and repeating the mouth water move towards me.
“Never!! I will never admit defeat!” I yelled back at him. Just then, my llu chirped signaling that it was time to go. I began to swim towards and hop on while eyeing the forest boy, making sure he doesn’t get any more opportunities. It seemed the forest boy had his own llu as he to swam towards the village with me but at a distance.
Oh.. what am I going to say to father once he sees me empty handed!?

The hunting encounter only happened a few days ago. Now as the sun begins to rise for a brand new day it didn’t take me long to find forest and begin my plan as usual. He was learning how to use the fishing nets, throwing them into the water then groaning in disappointment as the net tangled with itself, so he had to drag it out of the water and detangle it. I slowly walked towards, the sand was an advantage for silencing my feet from noise. I almost giggled by watch the boy’s tail flick back and forth in frustration as he finally untangled the net and prepared to throw it again. But as the net left his hand..
“BOOOO!!!?” I yelled as I jumped towards him, my fingers lightly touching his back. He jumped and began to fall, but before turning around and grabbing my wrist, trying to find support. It’ll happen so fast. One moment I was standing up, giggling, watching the boy fall to the ground and the next, I’m laying there with him, the net above us getting tangled as we struggled to get away from one another, but the harder we tried the more tangled we got.
“Damn it! This was not-! Hey!! Watch it your elbow is in my face!!” I screamed, thrashing about.
“Stop!! The harder you try the harder it is to get out!! Just stop!” He replied, and with that we both stopped moving at the same time, both looking at each other, on our sides, arm and legs tangled along with the net around us.
“Well was this apart of your plan?” The boy asked.
“No!! Haha certainly not!” I laughed nervously realizing how little space we have in this predicament…
“Well, this is just great because I now not only do we have to get untangled from this net. I also have to still keep trying to find a way to catch fish with this and then do a whole lot more stuff for today in order just a fit in with this stupid village!” He exclaims in clear anger.
I sat there for a moment, listening to him explain to me his struggles I hadn’t realize is that he was dealing with all of this while we had this little war. Maybe I should’ve been a little bit more considerate.
“Oh…I’m sorry” I whisper.
“Huh what did you say?” He replies, beginning with a sigh.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t really know that. I mean it was a little intense, but I still meant this in a light hearted way when trying to scare you. I do to everyone in my village not just you…” I explained.
“Yeah, well it also seems that everyone in this village seems to be calling me forest boy, but I think they just don’t know my name..” He continue to explain, slowly forming a grin at the irony. They don’t know his name or they don’t care to, so they call him ‘Forest Boy’. I looked up at pink and blue sky in embarrassment I didn’t even know his name. His eyes widen as he realizes this, giving my a look of disappointment.
“You….don’t even know my name do you?” He proceeds to give a ‘are you serious’ look but not for long as a chuckle broke out from him.
“Well, I would like to..” I said, looking back at him. I mean..it’s true, I want to know the name of my ongoing “opponent”.
“My name is Lo’ak. And you..” he slowly said, his tone suggesting the question of my name.
“Y/N..” I replied, as I began to relax and stare at his eyes and hair. Forgetting the net above and around us, along with the puzzle concerning our arms and legs. One on top of another.
The waves moved slowly, going back and forth as if communicating with the shore before retreating back to the sea. The only sound we heard for awhile as we relaxed into each other slowly.
With a huff I claimed “You made for quite the opponent Jo’ak.. so much so that I forgot to scare the others and not just you..” I tried once again to detangle to net around us, but still unsuccessful.
“Well it probably wasn’t just my thoughts of revenge that continued my efforts to scare you. Y’know overtime…it was more fun then frustrating, but this” he gestures to the tangled net and our situation “is frustrating.” He finished speaking with a small smile.
“Mhm..” It was the only thing I could muster up. I continued to stay in silence until I slowly closed the distance between us by putting my head under his, almost laying on top of him. I felt him tense a little to which I chuckled and said “What’s wrong, scar-“ I couldn’t even finish my question before I was cut off.
“I am most certainly not!” He claimed trying to relax once more which eventually he did. Slowly but surly he moved his arm around me..along with tail that draped over my leg.
The seas swayed back and forth gracefully, but with disruption. With uncertainty, with carelessness. Ever since the forest people have come to our village these waves sway with disruptive thoughts.
But for me..the only thoughts I had was about the boy in front of me, who I now wish to know more about.
`✵•.¸,✵°✵.。.✰——— ✰.。.✵°✵,¸.•✵´
Bonus:
Y/N: Sooo…how are we going to get out of this?
Lo’ak: Well I’m not the one who got us into this mess.
*Silence*
Lo’ak: *sigh* Alright let’s start untangle i-
Y/N: Five more minutes.

(Hi Peepers! I don’t know if this fic sounded off or not, it is my first time writing so please tell me if there is anything I could do to improve my work! Bye!!! ❤️❤️)

i've got my eye on you
neteyam x metkayinan! reader
summary: it's no secret that jake can be a little too hard on his two sons, but neteyam rarely let anyone see how it affected him, except you, unbeknownst to him.
warnings: none
notes: fluff, angst, sad boy neteyam
!reader is the same age as neteyam!
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Simply put, Neteyam had a lot on his shoulders.
He felt as though there was a constant pressure in his life, something strong and consuming his being, other times lingering in the background like a soft whisper, an unspoken reminder that he was the son of Toruk Makto.
Not only did he feel the crushing weight of trying to live up to his father, but his younger brother considered him the golden child. No matter what he did, someone would be unhappy.
Of course, Neteyam being Neteyam, he'd always take the blame for his little brother. Even though it was Lo'ak that said it first, he too knew how it felt to be one big disappointment, and he'd never want anyone else to feel that way.
Being chosen along with your siblings, Aonung and Tsireya, to help the Sully's acclimatise to the ocean, you had gotten close to the family, with a special interest in Neteyam. Only, he didn't really know it. He didn't know you watched him, keenly observing him, admiring him from a distance.
You had seen it so many times before. The slump in his shoulders when he was reprimanded yet again for some foolish thing his brother did, the guilty eyes, the vigorously nodding head to keep the peace, the defeated sighs.
What you weren't supposed to see, what he didn't want anyone to see, was the wobbling lip when he was dismissed by his father, sauntering off to his own quiet place to be alone. The frustrated hand rubbing at his forehead, eyebrows furrowed with tension. The quiet scolding of himself, belittling words spilling from his mouth.
You just watched. You felt guilty for not comforting him, you felt even more guilty for being there and witnessing something he did not intend for anyone to see. When he was vulnerable and none the wiser. But one night, it was particularly bad.
It happened when word got around about Lo'ak bonding with Payakan. Neteyam was scolded for not watching his brother at all times, and predictably, he took that blame and apologised profusely to his father before beginning his ritual of lonely self loathing. He didn't know you saw him, but you couldn't miss the tears welling up in his eyes, the look of pure torment on his face.
You quietly followed him, not making a sound as he stormed down the marui, all the way to the end until he was far from everyone, where he just sat and let his feet hang in the water, head resting in his hands.
You stopped just behind him, slightly surprised that he didn't feel your footsteps due to the bounce of the marui. "Neteyam," you utter and watch as his soul almost leaves his body, sparing you only a startled glance as he swats at his tears and turns away from you.
"Oh! Hey, Y/N," his voice is shaky and a little hoarse despite his efforts to mask his obvious sadness.
You smile gently, taking the spot next to him and letting your own legs dip into the water, eyes cast on the bioluminescence's just below your feet.
"You should not hide from me," you say after a moments silence, turning your head to watch Neteyam as he fights to appear unbothered. "Neteyam, are you okay?" You ask, lifting a finger to gently swipe a stray tear from his cheek, resisting the urge to smile at the obvious affect is had on him.
"I'm okay. Things are just difficult right now. It feels like no matter what I do, someone will be disappointed. And I don't want to be a disappointment anymore." He keeps his eyes cast on his feet, yellow eyes shimmering with tears and the reflection of water.
It was rare to see this side of Neteyam. The vulnerable, doubtful side. You didn't like it, you wished you had the right words to make it all go away, but you didn't. Tsireya would probably know exactly what to say.
You furrow your eyebrows, leaning toward the boy who in the moment appeared so small and fragile. "Neteyam," you whisper, lifting your hand to rest against his cheek, forcing him to look at you. A flood of emotion fills his eyes and you can see his breath hitch. "You are not a disappointment. Especially not to me-"
He begins to shake his head in disbelief, his warm cheek suddenly leaving your grasp as he pushes himself up, already beginning to walk away from you.
A pang of hurt hits you, but you know you can't take it personally.
"Neteyam! Please do not walk away from me." You call after him, voice a little firmer than what he's used to, but it's enough to make him stop in his tracks, his strong back to you. You take a couple steps closer, easily seeing the tension in his shoulders.
"Look at me," you say, softer this time, and he hesitates for a moment before he turns to face you, the tears now streaming freely down his face, eyes turning red and puffy. The sight of it breaks your heart, and you feel your lip wobble and tears prick in the corners of your own eyes.
You resist the urge to reach out and hold him, but you wanted him to hear your words first.
"You are not a disappointment," you repeat, and when he looks like he's about to shake his head again, you hold your hand up to silence him. "Not to me. If you knew how much I admired you, you would think I'm crazy."
You watch as his lip twitches, eyes landing everywhere but on yours, almost as if he was having an inner battle on whether to believe you or not.
You step forward, lifting your hand and placing it over his heart, feeling it race and stutter under your palm. Your eyes drop to your hand for a moment, turquoise skin against his blue. "Neteyam..." you look back up at his eyes, and he's already staring down at you. "I see you." A single tear rolls down your cheek and Neteyam doesn't hesitate to reach out and wipe it away, just as you had for him, before he places his hand over your own heart, a small smile breaking through the sadness.
"I see you." He confirms, and something shifts between the two of you, like the ending of a friendship, but the beginning of something else, something different, something bigger than you both.
The world around you disappears for a moment, and for the first time in a long time, the soft whisper in the wind reminding Neteyam of his shortcomings disappears, just as you rest your forehead against his.

Hii, can you do a neteyam x female! metkayina! reader where she’s tsireya (and the other siblings’) sister and instead of Ronal, it’s her spirit sister and her spirit sister’s calf that was killed, and everyone is just around her watching as she’s crying loudly and mourning and neteyam comforts her omg, then she’s all set on revenge and saying she wants to kill the sky people for murdering her spirit sister when she finds out about it ughh :(( I’m feeling in an angsty mood rn
Genre: angst Warnings: death of a spirit animal?; reader has a breakdown Words: 932
an: I almost cried when I've read your request! It broke my heart trying to imagine it... :( Anyway, I don't know if you are going to enjoy this sad piece, but at least I hope it does meet your expectations!
Tumblr media
Sharp pain pierced your chest and you sat up on your bed, fingers clutched around the net covering your upper body.
"Y/N? Are you okay?" Tsireya's worried voice asked behind you, your sudden movements waking her up. You shook your head, trying to take a breath, yet you felt as if there was something in your throat, suffocating you. You felt your brother arms wrapping around you, lightly tapping your back to help you catch your breath.
"Y/N, please breathe...", Ao'nung muttered, before glancing at Tsireya. "Go get mom and dad."
The young girl didn't need to be told twice, before jumping on her feet. You continued to struggle with your breathing, trying your best to follow your sibling's instruction of deep inhale and slow exhale. Doing the exercise did help you get fresh air into your lungs, however your chest was still feeling tight with unfamiliar pain.
"Y/N, my child", Ronal cried, when she saw your helpless form in Ao'nung arms. She cupped your cheeks in her hands, brushing away the tears falling from your eyes.
"Something horrible has happened, mother", you whispered, a quiet sob making making its way out in the middle of your sentence. She looked at you with confusion.
"What do you mean?"
You bit your lip, averting your gaze. You did not know how to answer her question, you just knew something was wrong. Deep down you hoped it was just a nightmare, yet that feeling kept you awake all night.
Next morning, your hope was shattered to pieces. The moment the divers told you they have found a dead tulkun deep in the sea, past the Seawall terraces, you didn't even waste a breath before you jumped on your ilu and start swimming in that direction. Neteyam and Tsireya's screams echoed behind your back, both of them sharing a look before following you. Your mind was set only on getting to your destination faster, praying to Ewya that your intuition and the anxious feeling in your stomach are wrong.
Sadly, they were not. The moment you laid your eyes on you spirit sister, floating helplessly on the water surface, a painful scream left your throat. You jumped away from your ilu's back, swimming next to her, resting your palms on her head.
"No, no, no", you cried, resting your forehead against her. Hot tears were flowing on your red cheeks, while broken sobs kept choking your breaths. You squeezed your eyelids, hoping this is all a dream and you would wake up. You heard your name being called in the distance, but your body remained unmoving.
Strong hands wrapped around your waist and you felt warmth spreading along your back. You did not have to check, to know this was Neteyam. You removed only one of your hands from your sister's face, so you can cover the Na'vi boy's fingers. Your head fell back on his shoulder, another loud scream leaving your throat.
"My sister...", you choked, finally opening your eyes. Your saw the body of her newborn calf floating next to her tail and your quickly got out of Neteyam's grasp, so you can swim next to it. You wrapped your arms around it, your tears falling like a river on your face, while your mouth was mumbling prayers to Ewya.
"Y/N, I am sorry...", Neteyam whispered next to you. Seeing your tears and hearing your cries, he felt both his soul and heart shattering to small pieces. He wanted to say something to comfort you, but he knew nothing he says would take your pain away.
"What kind of demon would kill not only such a pure soul, but it's helpless child as well?", you screamed, finally looking at Neteyam. He took a note of your blue eyes, who were now glossy and had a strange red tint in them. He swam closer to you, taking your hands in his.
"I promise you, Y/N, whoever is responsible will pay the price", his determined voice got the attention of Jake, who shook his head in disapproval. This is exactly what the sky people wanted. But now Neteyam did not care about his father's opinion or if he was about to scold him when they get back to the village, all he cared about was you. If you said you wanted him to go and get rid of every single human left on Pandora, he would do it for you.
Hearing his promise, a new fire started burning in your eyes. You pressed your lips into a thin line, your eyes becoming just slits.
"I will kill them all", you yelled, grabbing your dagger and lifting in the air. "Even if that means I have to join my sister in her journey in joining Ewya."
Your voice came out as a hiss and Neteyam looked worriedly over your parents, who looked just as upset and angry as you. He stretched his hand to yours, wrapping his fingers around the knife's handle. He looked deep inside your eyes, circling your waist with his free hand, before slowly putting your weapon down.
"And I will not be able to exist even a day, knowing you are not here, next to me", he tugged your head towards him, till it fell in the crook of his neck, and he felt your hot tears starting to flow again.
"We will bring peace to her and her baby, Y/N. I promise."
With these words, he kissed your temple and closed his eyes, trying to shake off the feeling of Jake's glare on his back.

idek what i’m doing but i’m hoping it turns out ok!
neteyam x reader!!
Tumblr media
there are many things about neteyam that drive you absolutely insane. how gorgeous his eyes look when the sun hits them just right. how when he flies around with this certain type of authority, it makes him look older. how he can look so gorgeous while doing the simplest thing…
what really bothers you is how he is always getting himself in trouble or hurt to save lo’aks ass.
the last time you saw him injured was when he got into a fight with another na’vi by the name of Zuk’tay. Rumor had it that Zuk’tay was picking on lo’ak due to his alien hands.
neteyam heard of the rumor, and next thing you know the boy is shuffling his way to you with his head down, avoiding all eye contact with a split lip adorning his face.
being neteyams oldest friend since he was 3, you were the first one he always came to whenever he got injured. he was always nervous to see his father in fear of disappointing him. his mother terrified him whenever she threatened to pluck his eyeballs out...
“neteyam…” you sighed, “we talked about this!”
“i know, i know and i’m sorry. but i couldn’t let lo’ak get in trouble again. he’s already on his second warning” he explained. he still avoided eye contact with you.
you sighed and stood up. you slowly walked over to neteyam and lifted up your hand. you gently grasped his jaw and guided his face to the point where his yellow eyes met yours.
“i know how much you hate seeing your brother get in trouble. but you also know how much i hate seeing you in trouble.” you softly spoke “all i want, is for you to be more careful.. please?”
he kept his gaze on your eyes as you pleaded. he’s never realized how beautiful you looked while you scold him. he didn’t even know it was possible to look gorgeous while giving him a lecture. his mother always looks terrifying whenever she’s scolding his father, yet his father always had this lovesick look on his face and had always told her she looked beautiful. he never understood why… until now.
looking at you while you worry for him, he finally understands what his father sees in his mother.
“…eyam? neteyam? …. you’re not even listening! i’m trying to tell you how you always make me nervous and how you make me worry for you constantly and you’re not even list-“
you were cut off as his arms wrap around you and pull you closer to him. you didn’t fully understand why he was hugging you so abruptly, but you slowly hugged him back sensing he needed some kind of comfort at the moment.
“thank you y/n” he whispered.
you had no idea what he was thanking you for, but you just hugged him tighter to you.
it was at that moment the two of you finally realized you will always have the other as a sense of serenity if your lives. that moment, was the first of many other intimate ones the two of you will share. this was just the beginning to a beautiful relationship that neither of you could wait for.
pls let me know if this is ok. i’ve legit NEVER wrote anything before so uh yeah! hopefully it doesn’t suck..

-It is clear that he has a lack of self-confidence, because of this you will surely have to take the first step, he will not want to ruin your friendship and at the beginning will surely have a little trouble with his feelings.
-Lo'ak is possessive, having a large family he always had to share with his family, but you are one of the only things he refuses to share.
-He will also surely be very afraid of rejection, that overnight you think he is no longer worth much and that you no longer want him, to avoid this he will try to always be the best for you and in all areas.
-He needs love, someone who gives him importance and above all who shows him his feelings, he does not want to live in uncertainty.
-hugs and kisses are welcome with him, although I think he will be quite embarrassed at first.
-he will very much like to take you with him to go see Payakan, the Tulkun being part of his life, he will want you to get along.
-Definitely a simp. He's the type of guy to shout, « That's my girlfriend!!! » if you punch Ao’nung in the face or if you have a particular “talent” that you show to the other.
Tumblr media
☟︎𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙮𝙖𝙢☟︎
-I think he won't hide his attraction to you too much, and that he will be rather at peace with his feelings even if it will probably take him a while before he realizes his feelings.
-Neteyam is very protective, he is the eldest of three children (not counting Spider) so protecting has always been one of his most important tasks, especially if you have trouble with weapons or you don't like to fight.
-Just like his brother he's a simp, if you like fighting and one day you fight with someone from the clan he will surely look at you from afar with a proud smile but if he sees things degenerate he will intervene immediately.
-He will not be ashamed to show you that he loves you, especially with caresses or kisses on the forehead.
-Only his role as big brother exhausts him a lot, he will need moments of respite where for once it is the others who take care of him, in other words, you will have to take care of him.
-Will always want to be by your side, even for the simplest tasks. He'd rather know you're with him than with anyone or anyone who can't protect you like he does.
-He will surely take you secretly to beautiful places while everyone is sleeping, he will always be careful that there is no danger and, once sure, he will let go.

The Ikranä Maktoyu (‘banshee rider’)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Neteyam x TayrangiClan!Reader
Summary: There was nothing you thought you couldn’t do. So, when the eldest son of Toruk Makto challenges you to a race on your Ikran? Well, you never were one to run from an honest challenge. Especially when you had the fate of your feelings riding on the line.
Note: This is my first Fanfiction for Avatar and specifically WoW. This doesn't follow any sort of plot, so it's not technically necessary to have watched the new movie. Anyways I hope you enjoy xx
Warnings: Fluff, Enemies to Lovers (kind of?), Blood. Kissing? idk. This is a long one. I like to give my fanfics context, ok?? lol
Word count: 4,203
As far as you were concerned you couldn't be any different from the similar blue skinned Navi in front of you. While you were used to more complicated headdresses, and guarded expressions, these Forest children of the Omaticaya clan, wore little and expressed much. Several Tayrangi Clan members and you had journeyed vast from the Eastern Sea to meet with the Omaticaya people and its fairly new leader, Jake Sully.
Your mother had brought you up on the story of Jake Sully's arrival, on how the Toruk Makto had led all the clans together in harmony in order to rid your home planet of the humans who were intent on destroying it. Everything about Omaticaya had fascinated you, but as you grew so did your responsibilities, and now you reserve your emotions to plain passiveness.
This was mostly due to the fact that the people were so much different from your own. Tayrangi had long been separated and socially outcasted due to their spirited independence, and the Omaticaya people had once despised it. However, times had changed, and as your mother fondly admitted to yourself, new beginnings can bring new outlooks.
So, there you sat, trying to hold in any regard of the Omaticaya children in front of you, who had been introduced upon arrival as the Olo'ekytan's children. The youngest and giddiest, Tuktirey, smiled brightly at you as if she noticed your presence for the first time since you had been there.
"Come play with us, y/n! We were just about to go out into the forest." Tuktirey laughed, as she tugged on her elder sister's hand. Kiri looked up at you with a shy smile, and for some reason it made your heart warm.
They were very sweet children, most of them at least. Upon your clan's arrival to the forest, you were bombarded by the sounds of Ikrans all around you. While you were mostly familiar with the sound, the laughter and rambunctious noise as they swooped across the trees startled your clan. Who was behind the wonderful greeting? None other than the eldest of Jake Sully's children, who you were introduced to through a flurry of apologies as Lo'ak and Neteyam.
Each bore a startling resemblance to their kinfolk, and by closer inspection you saw the youngest of the brothers resembled the same five fingered trait as his father. He was the most feigned of the two, which made you suspect this wasn't his first time having to apologize. Neteyam was sincere in his apologies at the least, the perfect mockup as the prodigal son, burdened since birth you could tell.
However, something about Neteyam made your heart race just a little faster. Perhaps it was the way he laughed, and his broad shoulders lifted up ever so slightly. Or maybe it was the way he looked into your eyes, and you felt the weight of the world fall endlessly at your fingertips. Either way, you made sure you kept your feelings in check. You had goals in life, and you wouldn't let some skxwang (idiot, moron) mess it up.
"I was hoping to head near the top of the mountains. It's actually really beautiful to see near sunset." Kiri voiced out, the sound startling you out of your memories, as she looked back to see Tuktirey jumping for joy.
"Mom never lets us go out there before dinner, but maybe she'll let us since you're here!" Tuktirey laughed as she began to beckon us to follow her.
"We can go, but we've got to wait for Spider. He should be here any minute." Kiri rolled her eyes, before glancing back in apology for her sister's rambunctious nature.
"You called?" You heard a male voice call out from behind you, your body jumping in fear. You were used to the rocky shores of your homeland providing you a sense of hearing, but now that you were hidden between the sounds of the forest, you couldn't quite gather your surroundings.
"Spider! There you are, where were you?" Kiri exclaimed, as you watched to see the human jump from a fallen tree limb, as he laughed underneath his mask.
When you had first taken a glimpse of a human on Pandora, it had not been under good circumstances. It was as the RDA had begun to shuffle their way out, but the memories from your older clan members had done enough to make you hold reservations against them. Even though you had been told of Spider's upbringing, you couldn't help but feel as if his alliance did not stand completely still against one side.
Spider glanced your way, a careful nod towards you, before pulling on Kiri's tail in playfulness. Kiri hissed as she smacked him away, him dodging her advances. Before you knew it, they were in their own little world arguing about something leaving Tuktirey to sigh in impatience.
"Guys can you stop! We have to get going!" Tuk complained. Kiri looked up as she glanced your way in apology. She beckoned Spider to follow us, as we began heading through the thick jungle.
You watched in hesitance as the Sully clan leaped and bounded across tree limbs and small streams. Syaksuk (lemurs) danced across the forest vines, their playful voices echoing around as they swung. Every so often Tuk would stop, playing with some sort of creature or fauna before Kiri or yourself would have to get her away from the distractions.
The trek was long, but it resembled your own passages on top of jagged rocks, trying to avoid falling. You laughed as you tried to keep up with the Omaticaya children, your passive disposition beginning to fade away. You actually felt really happy.
At this point in the day the light in the sky was beginning its descent, and you had just reached a parting in the densely bushed trees. Pushing forward, you followed Kiri and the rest stopped at what you could tell was an overlook. Pushing back a stray vine, your eyes widened before looking up.
There it was. Out of everything you had heard of the Omaticaya clan growing up, Ayram Alusing (The floating mountains) was the most magical. Your arrival to the clan had been up these very floating rocks. You could almost see the activity where the clan resided near the Tree of Souls.
"Mons Veritatis." You heard Spider whisper in awe, your gaze settling to where he looked to see one of the tallest mountains you had ever seen. Its top didn't even reach vision, the dense vog settling eerily to the distant calls of the Ikrans.
It made your heart thump in excitement at riding your Ikran across the sky.
"Iknimaya. It is our rite of passage to ride our Ikrans. You do the same right?" Kiri looked over at you, noticing your excitement with a smile.
"Yes, although I'm not sure which is more dangerous." You laughed as Kiri giggled, latching onto Tuk's hand.
"Well, there is only one way to find out."
You were startled by how quickly they began to race across the overlook and jump onto the vines. Your heart began to thump as you scaled the rocks higher up into the sky. You looked down to the steep fall below, wondering if you had just enough time to call for your Ikran to save you if you fell.
You were surprised that with each step it got easier, and even Spider, who was not built for Pandora's harsh terrain, kept up almost effortlessly. Maybe that was why they called him monkey boy.
"We're almost there!" Tuk squealed, as the sound of the Ikrans could be heard louder. The waterfalls were louder too, and you felt a strange lightness as you along with the rest of the group slowed down as you neared an alcove.
"There they are." Kiri said, pointing over to the left side of us where the Ikrans nested. The backdrop the rest of the way was beautiful as the Sun began to hang low, and the outline of the gas giant was visible.
You felt yourself wanting to ride your Ikran Payngyì , remembering that the hangar in which she resided was not too far away, and perhaps you could reach her.
Before you could debate it further a call could be heard, the voice sounding familiar, as you began to recall back to before and your arrival to Omaticaya.
Neteyam.
His Ikran soared across the sky, the multicolored blues of its wings casting shadows in the sky. Neteyam held strong to his Ikran, a symbol of good ability and you couldn’t help but feel your heart race at the sight. He swooped below, somehow spotting us in the little opening that we stood.
Spider began whooping, before you looked over to see Kiri rolling her eyes.
“It’s so obvious he’s trying to show off.” Kiri snarked, the signature fourteen year old attitude dripping off of her like hot honey. You couldn’t help but chuckle, before looking back towards Neteyam.
He now perched his Ikran where we were, his hushed whispers calming the still active creature. Looking over towards us, he swung his legs off the Ikran, before lifting his Ionar (rider's mask) and grinning.
“So, how long until Mom punishes you guys for being up here now?” Neteyam laughed at his siblings, before looking over at you. He pushed his head forward, and signaled a greeting. “Oel ngati kameie”
You felt your face heat up, as you returned the gesture haphazardly. “Oel ngati kameie.” Usually it came to you like clockwork, but you were quickly starting to realize even everyday tasks came awkward and jumbled when he was around.
Neteyam shifted his head in curiosity, before looking back at his siblings. “You know this won’t be a good impression to the Tayrangi clan if we keep breaking rules.”
“No. That was you and L’oak. Y/n wanted to be here.” Kiri sassed, knocking Neteyam over the head who groaned in playfulness.
“Mom will let us be here if y/n is here. She is a fierce hunter!” Tuk replied looking up to her older siblings.
Neteyam looked back at you, and the same expression graced his face. Can he seriously stop staring at me like that? It’s like he’s looking into my soul. You thought quietly, albeit returning his stare.
“Is that so?” Humor now splashing his face as he laughed. You frowned at his obvious display of mockery. “Pray tell me, where’s your Ikran now?”
Something in you snapped and whatever ounce of female gaze you had for him went away, and a competitive nature overtook you. “Where your clan resides. Why do you sound so shocked?”
Neteyam’s eyes lit as he watched you begin to challenge him with your voice. Something about the way your eyes squinted, or the way your soft lips titled in a scowl made his heart race in excitement.
Ever since your arrival he couldn’t help but find any way of talking to you, being near you, anything. He would be lying if it wasn’t driving him mad, especially when his siblings were beginning to pick up on it.
“I’m not. I just…” Neteyam paused thinking about his words before smiling deviously. Your head tilted as you began to realize what he was about to ask you.
“Do you care for a race? Since you’re a fierce hunter, I’m sure you and your Ikran can make a fine challenge for mine.” Neteyam crossed his arms, his mouth trying to hide the obvious nature of trying to get you to blow your temper.
“Now I would pay to see that.” Spider laughed looking over to Kiri who was shaking her head.
“Alright, what are the odds then?” You replied, your hand already itching to latch onto Payngyì.
“If you win, I’ll cover for you in case we get into trouble after this.” Neteyam shook his head in humor.
“And if I don’t, what… I’ll be thrown off the mountains for all of eternity?” You laughed.
Neteyam smiled widely before shaking his head. He began to walk towards you, and the feelings that you had pushed back in place of competition started coming back all at once. He leaned down, a wonderful scent invading your nose before whispering in your ear. “You owe me a date.”
You tried to hold in the gasp that threatened to push out, your head which had been cast down tilting up toward his own, very near face. “Deal.” You whispered. You watched as the corner of his eyes crinkled in amusement, the ghost of his touch passed your waist, before standing back. “Call to your Ikran.”
You wasted no time in standing closer to the edge, letting out your familiar call in hopes Payngyì would hear. You were right, as a few moments later her beautiful light blue figure flapped its wings and perched with a sounding screech.
You walked over to her, the beautiful golden shade of her pupils dilated as you gazed into her, petting her slowly in greeting. You looked over to Neteyam with a nod. “What are the parameters?”
Neteyam points out past the Tree of Souls to where a carefully arched connection of vines floated two mountains. “Over there, a little stretched away from where the camp is.”
You looked at him curiously, and he seemingly read your mind in the instant it crossed your face.
“Trust me it will be a challenge. The mountains move quickly, and you have to be careful to not hit anything.” Neteyam walked over to his Ikran, leaping up onto it.
You climbed up on your own, latching onto the Tsaheylu (bond/connection), feeling Payngyì screech, and her breath beginning to pump as she anticipated your next move.
“You can do it y/n!” You heard Tuk cheer, looking over you watched Kiri look at you with careful caution.
“Be careful. My brother is stupid, but he knows these mountains well. As much as it pains me to say it, he is one of the best hunters.” Kiri grimaced, Neteyam cheering out in response to her compliment.
“Are you ready, y/n?” Neteyam looked over at you with a wide smile.
You couldn’t help your own smile grace your face, nodding before him.
“I will see you at the finish line, then.” He winked, and suddenly you had forgotten there ever was a race, before watching as he dove his Ikran down, and upwards into the sky.
“Oh sh-” You exclaimed with a huff, following after him, the legs of Payngyì tightening, her wings closing in downwards. You felt the gust of air and you were suddenly very laser focused on winning. Not because the bullshit win might not guarantee you a harsh scolding afterwards, but simply to beat Neteyam. A man that was so intently after your own heart. And winning.
You saw him not too far in the distance, realizing there had to be a shortcut or some way to catch up to him and gain more speed. You tightened your hold on Payngyì, her voice squawking out as you nearly collided with a mountain that was moving closer to your right side. You banked left, realizing the air was a lot similar to that of the Eastern Sea.
Before in races, you would use the wind speed to gain traction by going downwards and upwards. This worked even better, once you realized that Neteyam in the distance was having to lose traction to weave through the mountains.
“Come on Payngyì.” You whispered, feeling her move exactly what you had in your mind, soaring upwards and downwards, before realizing you were nearing the tree of souls and the archway.
Neteyam glanced behind you with a fierce look in his eyes, before banking off and passing behind a particularly large mountain. You frowned realizing the same mountain that was coming left was now barreling toward you. You gasped narrowly escaping the bottom as you dived downward.
You must have startled Payngyì, because now she strained on your hold, and you could feel the fear in the bond. She began to slow down much to your disappointment, as you tried to push her forward.
All of the sudden you heard Neteyam fly past you from the opposite side he had come from. Payngyì, who had already been startled by the unfamiliar mountains, saw the shadow of his Ikran and screeched before diving again this time barreling towards the cliffs. You screamed, urging your Ikran to pull up but to no avail.
Neteyam must’ve seen the whole thing as you heard him call out to you. “Quickly this way!” He cascaded his own Ikran near the rocks, trying to keep Payngyì from hurting herself. In the process of pushing your own away from the cliffs, you watched as his shoulder scratched against jagged rocks, his skin tearing up. “Shit.” He swore.
“Neteyam!” You yelled, sighing in relief as he managed to pull his own Ikran away from the cliffs and fly smoothly next to mine. “Are you alright?”
“Yes…” He groaned, his injured arm locking up as his face squinted into a scowl. “I think-hold on…”
“Neteyam… do we need to stop?” You replied in concern, worried for the fact that his injury had begun to slowly bleed.
“Uh yeah…maybe…” His words now stuttering, looking at you in embarrassment. “Look, let's not go back to camp, I won’t be able to make my promise to you if we do.”
“If I was that worried about that Neteyam, I wouldn’t have agreed to this race.” I huffed. “Where do you want to go? You need care, you’re going to bleed out.”
“No, I know a place.” Neteyam grimaced, beckoning you to follow him. “Follow me.”
You grappled at the possibility of finishing the race or saving Neteyam, as you realized the way he was taking you was straight past the archway. He’s going to win, and I’ll owe him a date. You shook your thoughts from your mind, realizing any race or date was far from the task at hand, and making sure Neteyam is safe was more of a priority.
You sailed through the sky, the sun now setting, and the realization that your own mother and clan will be very disappointed if you embarrassed them by arriving past curfew. “Shouldn’t we just go back? I just don’t understand how any place we’re going will help you or anyone’s case.”
Neteyam, who had gone quiet, shook his head. “There is a place on the ground near the tree of souls not far from camp. Our ancestors used to go there because it possessed great healing powers. That’s where we get most of our medicine.”
You stared at him, his braided hair flying in the wind and his eyes focused intently on the mission ahead. It made you realize just how deeply he knew about his clan, and the role he knew he would have to serve one day. It made you look at him differently, and not just as a headstrong boy. He was a leader, he would be their savior one day.
As you neared the forest floor you saw a few spirit trees up ahead and a small rocky alcove. Resting both of your Ikrans on the floor, you realized the forest was beginning to come alive with its beautiful glow.
Neteyam grumbled, holding onto his arm loosely before looking up at me. “Uh.. if you grab some of those nearby plants-” You held up a hand, taking over realizing this routine was much similar to that of your clan near the Eastern Sea. Many times, you had to seek out ways to produce medicine for your injured clan, and the forest was no different.
“Sit down.” You ordered, pushing him down his mouth beginning to move in protest. “It’s the least I could do. You saved my life.” You looked down at him before turning back and grabbing some plants to make some sort of salve.
“Thank you.” You heard Neteyam quietly speak, feeling his eyes staring intently at your back. Your face heated up, grabbing a nearby rock and beginning to mash a few plants together.
You turned around, meeting his eyes who looked almost fascinated at you. You scrunched your face, and for the first time voiced your opinion. “Why do you always stare at me like that?”
“Like what?” Neteyam whispered, the nearness of your body to his and possibly the loss of blood making his voice go hoarse.
“Like…you’ve known me all your life or something.” You began applying the makeshift salve to his cuts, making him hiss in alarm. “Stop moving.”
“Well sometimes I think I do. You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met.” Neteyam reached out his free hand, stopping you in your tracks. Your ears flicked in curiosity, before you shrugged his hand off of yours so you could continue. “Why do you ignore me?”
“I don’t.” You frowned, now suddenly very intent on helping bandage his arm, and stop from blurting out every ounce of feeling you have all at once. “You just-” You paused before continuing. “All the other boys in my clan have never once been so intent on getting my attention. Not that I want it but- you seemingly always do. And I-”
“Secretly like it?” You scoffed watching Neteyam’s mouth form into a wide smile.
“You’re a skxawng you know that?” You hissed, wrapping the bandage a little tighter against his arm much to his chagrin. At this point in his bandaging process, you had knelt next to him, and not realizing your nearness to him until you looked up to see his face so close to yours.
You inhaled that wonderful scent again and this time there was nothing to pull either of you away from each other. Neteyam closed in first, wrapping his uninjured hand onto your cheek softly, pulling you in for a kiss.
Wow. You thought to yourself. His lips were just as delicate as you had imagined them to be, yet strong and firm. You felt yourself move your own lips against his until both of you were passionately locked in one another. You felt his arm slide against your waist as you gasped, pulling you into his lap. Your mouth moved fervently against his, feeling the way he groaned beneath you. Something about the moment was complete bliss, and suddenly you were far away from your worries and goals in life, and all you wanted to do was to be wrapped in his arms for all eternity.
It all came to a halt when you felt his bandage arm try and glide against your body to pull you further down before the pain tore through. “Damn it!” Neteyam cursed, as you both pushed away in alarm. Your eyes widened as you  fell away from his arms looking frightened at hurting him, but also at what had just transpired.
Looking around you realized it was now nightfall and most definitely one skip away from being permanently grounded forever. The spirit trees moved as the wind passed them by, a few sacred seeds falling around both of you, most definitely aware of what had just transpired from you.
“I’m sorry.” Neteyam apologized, his breath still uneven, and his mouths a bit swollen from your own lips. If it had been any other situation you would have climbed back into his arms, but you realized you definitely should be heading back. Getting up from your position, your hand reached to grab his uninjured one.
“We should get going.”
Neteyam stuttered before grabbing onto your hand and standing next to you. “I- Don’t you want to talk about what just happened?” His hand swept across his face. “So does this mean…?”
“I-” You were at a loss for words. “I don’t know.”
Neteyam laughed before shaking his head. “You are unlike any female I’ve met.”
You bit your lip as you shook your head, laughing with him. “Look, I’m not sure if I’m-”
“Before you say anything.” Neteyam said, grabbing your arm to keep you from walking away. “Can I take you out on that date anyways? Since I figured it was a tie, and I was going to try and cover for you anyways.”
“I don’t think anything will save either of us from punishment, Neteyam.” You chuckled, shaking your head, before turning around and making your way back to your Ikran to fly back to camp.
“So?” Neteyam called back to you, as you heard his steps race toward your own. You turn around watching as he got closer and everything that had just transpired came rushing in.
“Yes.” You smiled. You realized there was nothing stopping you from him. You spent so much of your life running from love because you thought it would stop you from achieving your goals in life. That was until you met Neteyam, and suddenly you couldn’t imagine your life without him. You were hopelessly in love. “As long as you promise you can kiss me just like before.”
Neteyam grinned, before nodding, grabbing your waist and pulling you in close. “Deal.”
And just like that, you had fallen for the Ikranä Maktoyu, with no chance of catching yourself either.

More Than You Think
Pairing: Butchercup/ Greens (Buttercup x Butch)
Fandom: PPG
This was a commission/gift for the amazing @over-under-through1 who trusted me enough to write her some greens.
The dynamic is much softer for greens than i usually write because we love soft butch. This is just a journey of Butch realizing that he is in fact dumb and fancies a light green puff :)

Butch: Age 12
Of course Boomer would trip the alarm, he always did. Butch grumbled as he herd the familiar buzz of the bank alarm going off. They weren’t supposed to get caught, well he was the only one here anyways. Boomer was in the back room messing around with the safe and oops, now that loud ass sound is piercing through his head. Brick’s gonna be pissed.
They hadn’t robbed a store in months, kept more on the down low as they got older but even pesky twelve year olds need money and food and hey, Butch liked to have a good time. He would have preferred blowing some shit up instead but Brick’s bitching wasn’t something he wanted to challenge this late at night.
“Make that thing shut up!” Butch growled towards the back where Boomer had shouted “I’m trying damnit!”
But it didn’t matter, it never did. You could have all the fun in the world but it would be ruined no matter how good you were at your job. Eventually all the fun would come to an end.
He could hear it. Like noticing a fly when having dinner. The slight buzz of its wings, that’s what it was like. The siren cut off and soon he could hear it crystal clear. He had it memorized by now. Their flying patterns and how each of them landed was its own noise. He bit back a snarl, barely tasting blood as they touched down on the ground. Fuck.
He turned on his foot with a slouch in his hip and a roll of the eyes as they stood before him.
“Buzz kills” He mumbled and locked eyes with the three super heroines.
They stood tall and proud as always. The princesses of the kingdom were here to rescue it once again, it was just a measly break in. Did they have to deal with every single small inconvenience. Guess the cops were no help but he’d rather get in a punch with someone who could handle it then in a pair of handcuffs.
He stared them down. First was the leader. Blossom or he liked to call Pinky because, well he didn’t need to explain himself. Next was Goldilocks whose voice was like nails on a chalkboard to him. Cute but annoying, no wonder Boomer was her counterpart.
And then there was her. She had a deep scowl and hooded eyes as if she had just woken up. Which would make sense as the moon was high in the sky and the only lights were the ones in the broken building. Buttercup was the only one who ever caught his eye.
“Alright just drop whatever you have and make this a clean deal.” Pinky spoke. It was startling how similar she was to his older brother, by like thirty seconds, she had that same cold stare but the baby doll pink eyes really didn’t add much fear.
“Not holding anything dumb ass.” He spat at her and held his palms open. He watched her visually straighten her shoulders from the insult and Goldilocks scoffed and yet the girl who rivaled him just had an icy glare.
Unlike her sisters, she was the only one he could tolerate, if anything. She had a killer kick and plummeting punch but she matched him in wit and snarky comments. Deep down he enjoyed whenever they got to have a full on thrashing but right now, he wasn’t in the mood and clearly, she wasn’t either.
“Got the alarm to-shit!” Boomers eyes widened as he stumbled out of the back and he wished he could have just punched him in the face for being so careless.
He watched as Pinky glanced around. The only broken item was the lock on the door and nothing had been stolen either. It should have been but blue eyes had to fuck it up. His knuckles cracked within his fists, the loud noise echoing through the untouched bank.
“Look.” Blossom started. “You broke in, disbanded the alarm and there’s no way you can steal anything now, so I suggest just taking whatever dignity you have left and just walk away. Maybe next time you can do something worth our time.” She finished.
“Worth your time.” He heard Boomer mutter under his breath. A low blow for sure.
She might have been ‘everything nice’ but over time her words had taken to the spice side.
If Brick were here he probably would have gotten into her face and a brawl would have started. But he wasn’t and that pissed him off. He didn’t even care about the money any more. He had a headache and wanted to sleep and if Brick really wanted this shit, he could come down and bust it out himself.
He turned on his heel to Boomer who just raised his brow. He nodded towards the door and they both decided that a full on fight wasn’t what they wanted to do. After all it’s been a couple of years since they had one and getting his ass kicked by a girl when they were outnumbered really wasn’t on his to do list. They would easily take dumber than the dumbest down in a flash and his ass would be a full buffet. 1 against 3 wasn’t on the agenda.
Butch scoffed and began to walked towards the door but stopped in front of the girls. Blossom narrowed her eyes and he saw the flash of pink within her palms.
“Relax doll, we are leaving. Boomer, get going.” He scoffed at his little brother, by twenty seconds, for making goo goo eyes at Goldilocks. He didn’t miss the small smile she was trying to hide and just rolled his eyes at them. Pathetic.
Butch passed Blossom and stopped at his own counter part. The neon green eyes seemed to glow slightly under the dim light and they wore matching expressions that held unamusement. She only blinked and raised her eyebrows.
“We don’t have all night Butch.” She spoke and he rolled his shoulders back before pushing past her. “Get your sorry ass out of here before I beat it.”
He flashed her a smirk before gripping the collar of his brother’s shirt and pushing him forward to leave. “Kinky.” He winked at her before they took to the skies and he let out a laugh as he could hear her frazzled complaint from below.
