Maruki's first act as God restoring Akechi just 5 feet from Joker is funny as fuck. He couldve tested his powers with anything else but he led with that. I bet he was mad as hell Akechi decided to go with Sae immediately instead of spending Christmas with Joker. When u set up the perfect fanfic scenario but ur characters have a mind of their own

Post-canon Futaba getting comically frustrated with Akechi as she realized that no matter how hard she tries, she will never be his biggest hater because that title goes to Akechi himself
Futaba: You are a monster. I hate you
Akechi: Yes, I am a monster. I cause nothing but death and suffering with my mere existence. I spent my childhood and teenage years thinking that my only purpose is revenge, knowing that pursuing it will damn me. I deserve everything bad that happened to me after I approached Shido. I am a fool who should suffer for his sins. Even now, with a renewed will to live, I still don't know if I deserve to be loved and be happy.
Futaba: ...
Futaba: Whoah can you like, chill?

Goro takes in a breath as he steps away from the stage. He’s got about ten things he should be doing right now, like returning his mic (switched safely off), discussing the taping with the director, and doing something about the way his stomach grinds on itself with hunger.
Instead, he makes a beeline for the most interesting thing to pass through his orbit in as long as he can remember, stopping in front of tousled hair his fingers itch to tidy, and glasses doing their very best to shield their wearer from the world.
Goro gives the boy one of his best smiles. Not the one prepared for television but for executives and interviewers. The one he saves for when he wants someone to take a shine to him.
“I’m glad I found you, I wanted to thank you in person,” He says.
He intends to get right to the point, and extend an invitation to further debate. Instead, he finds himself slipping into the flood of thoughts he’d wanted to share while stuck on stage. There is something about his companion’s posture and attention that urges the words out. He is quiet, save for a comment here or there that only adds fuel to Goro’s intellectual fire. Yet that silence is not ignorance nor indifference, but an invitation. One Goro accepts readily.
It is enough to make him jab pointedly at the thieves themselves, his rambling ending on a hook, baited to see what he might uncover, “That’s why I believe, if a truly powerful opponent were to corner them, they would flee without a second thought.”
“They wouldn’t back down.” Even without a mic to amplify it, Kurusu’s voice is firm, words said in such a way that brokers no argument.
As if he knows Goro is speaking to the very person in question.
A giddy bubble of excitement grows in Goro’s chest. Oh he is a cheeky one. Not only had he sat in the audience and told Goro, to his face and on television, that the Thieve’s way was just, but here he is doing it again as they are face to face. The words a dare to Goro. A question.
Can you catch me?
After the previous day’s disastrous attempt to establish a relationship he had been fairly certain his plan to personally investigate the leader of the Phantom Thieves was a wash and he should just settle on spying on them instead. He had thought that this boy had the good sense to keep him at arm's length.
But the daring in his voice and eyes speaks otherwise.
A delicious chill runs down Goro’s spine. At last, he has found someone to match wits with.
“You really are intriguing, I bet you’d make for a worthwhile debate partner on the subject,” He works to keep the absolute need coursing through his veins from slipping into his voice as he presses further, “If it’s alright with you, would you continue sharing your thoughts with me?”
Only moments before Goro believed he knew everything he needed to about Akira Kurusu. His name, his record (trumped up as it obviously is), and his little gaggle of co-conspirators he calls friends. They’d been easy enough to track down between the glaringly obvious trail leading back to them, and the blond’s big mouth.
He had even seen them in the Metaverse.
Watched, almost mesmerized, as these upstarts picked their way through a bunch of shadows, their leader resplendent in black and red, face a wicked grin of delight, outshining them all.
His suspicions confirmed, Goro could have left it at that. Watched them from afar to make sure they didn’t get in his way. There was little need to attempt to insinuate himself into their leader’s life, what more did he need to learn?
But then he’d seen them yesterday, and thought that a little insurance might be good too. Having an in with this group could pan out in a number of ways, either in his favor or in simply easing the way to their destruction.
All those plots and schemes seem silly now as he faces a boy with more depth than he’d imagined. With a mind as sharp as his own.
There is a fire that flickers, hot and fierce, behind his glasses. Those gray eyes molten steel even as the teen’s posture is slouched. His dress so casual no one would suspect such a sharp intellect to be hiding beneath the layers. As if he intended to sweep by unnoticed.
Goro is not sure how anyone could ignore someone like this. He is captivating in almost every way. Starting with the secrets he keeps close to his chest and ending in the firm handshake he gives Goro as they agree to keep in contact, hand squeezing his gloved one as if to say, let’s start the game, shall we?
He returns the pressure, his own actions agreeing to the challenge. A coin slipped into the slot, a palm smacking the player one button to start the game. One he knows, at last, will be worthwhile to play.

"Well, how do I look?"
"In my most humble opinion, I think you look quite lovely."
"What about the least humble?"
"What?"
"If that's your most humble opinion, then what is your least humble one?"
"Hmm. In my least humble opinion, I believe that anyone who sees you in that dress and cannot be you or have you should want to kill themselves."
"Nice."

I think it's actually very buddhist of me to have no object permanence. No emotional attachments when I physically can't make myself keep anything in my mind. "It's all in your head" nah ain't nothing in my head. Can't hold grudges or resentments when people who wronged or annoyed me just stop existing for me the second they're out of my field of vision. No thoughts head empty, I am free.
