“This ruling, and the subsequent EHRC guidance aims to segregate trans people from safe spaces that they have for used for decades without issue. We are demanding that the Scottish government stand up for its trans citizens by fighting this ruling and appealing to the European Court of Human Rights.”

One of the demonstrators, Sugar, described the protests as "a public act of grief, resistance and solidarity to highlight the hypocrisy of the ruling. If the Supreme Court can see these woman legally as men, then they’ll have zero issue with them going tops off.”

Trans children should have the right to undergo the correct puberty at the same time as their peers.

Puberty blockers were only ever a compromise and should not be seen as the end goal of trans advocacy.

The last days of the petition against conversion therapy are FASCINATING to watch. I have been following it pretty closely for almost a year now, and the progress was, above all, steady. There was this jump when some algorithm in Finland picked it up, but even that was local.

And now, everyone is panicking.

Which really shows.

These past three or four days, multiple countries have reached the threshold. Even more notably, the number of signatures in total, the ones that we need to get one million of, are growing rapidly. There are only 400'000 signatures missing. Two days ago, it was closer to 600'000.

Important to note: this bans parties, not people.

Hell, Glasgow Pride even go out of their way to welcome politicians as "elected representative of your local community. Not on behalf of whichever party you represent." So it even allows politicians to attend in a professional capacity, not just a private one. From what I'm aware of the other bans aren't as explicit in this, but the wording is very deliberately "parties" there too.

Honestly though, why even waste energy thinking of nuance to it? They've segregated Holyrood. Ban everyone and use whatever time or energy you save to make any queer life a tiny bit better.

Those who actually care will understand the purpose.
