The Origins:

Nathan Swartz was poor, struggled and lived a hard-life. He had to overcome the obstacles of life and he created a shoe which could overcome the obstacles of nature (mountain, snow and ice).

 The Evolution:

What started out as a functional shoe for the average blue-collar factory worker, evolved into an iconic style item. From the factories of New England, to the ice-covered mountain tops, this shoe that was created to be resilient, tough, versatile and overcome natures obstacles, proved that it could overcome the obstacle of time too.

The Future:

Over the years, the shoe has proved to not only be a unique testiment of quality, durability, versatility and comfort, it has proven to be also symbolic of style, taste and has reached iconic pop-culture status. The hustlers and go-getters have to overcome the obstacles of the urban jungles from New York, London, Dubai, Cape Town and Paris, in the same way that the original customers (and founder) overcame obstacles in nature and life (and continues) to do so over the years.
