Young and Old Sheldon join forces in an epic new video ahead of Young Sheldon‘s series finale.

In a TikTok promoting the Big Bang Theory prequel’s arrival on the video platform, series star Iain Armitage tries out a “new filter,” with an assist from Jim Parsons.

“So, apparently there’s a new filter that shows you what it looks like when you grow up,” Armitage says. “I don’t know how accurate it is going to be, but let me try it out.”

Then, upon tapping his screen, Parsons appears to assess the results. “Hmm, I’m not sure about this,” he says, before acknowledging that he and his 14-year-old counterpart sound nothing alike: “Oh! It changes your voice, too… I don’t like it!”

As previously reported, Parsons, along with Mayim Bialik, will reprise their roles as Drs. Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in Young Sheldon’s series finale, airing Thursday, May 16 (CBS, 8/7c) — exactly five years to the day since Big Bang signed off in 2019. This will mark the first time that Parsons and Bialik have appeared together on Young Sheldon, and the first time that anyone from Big Bang will appear in person, on screen, on the wildly successful spinoff.

Parsons, who is an executive producer on Young Sheldon, has served as narrator on all seven seasons, while Bialik has reprised Amy and served as co-narrator on two episodes.

Storyline details surrounding their return are being kept under wraps.

I was telling my bestie about how for some reason the algorithm has started showing me Bluey ship drama posts so much that I've started to get invested and now I kinda wanna watch the show, and she sent me this.

But okay, okay, the gang's kids all probably watch Bluey and you know, you know, Amy, Penny, and Bernadette would totally get into an argument over who's the father of Bluey's pup. The guys probably somehow get sucked into the argument too. I feel strongly that this would happen.

Okay so I want to post at least 2 fics next month, one for Shamy's wedding anniversary and one for the anniversary of when they met. You know, like I did last year.

The good news is I have 2 small fics right now that are basically done, just need to be polished up and posted.

The bad news is I'm not sure if either of these feel right for those anniversary dates.

So now I'm over here essentially giving myself homework to come up with 2 more fics, I guess? I don't know. But that's my life of a fic writer update for right now. I feel bad I haven't posted anything in a while, but in my defense April has been a rough month. (I think I have recovered from my medical issues now though, thank you everyone for the well-wishes!)

Is anyone else planning on posting anything next month? Are there any fics or prompts in particular you would like to see? Do you think the Young Sheldon finale will be a wellspring of inspiration? Did perpetual happiness in the Garden of Eden maybe get so boring that eating the apple was justified? Who is standing behind you right now? Please let me know if you have any thoughts, I miss getting asks from you guys. :)
