♥ - Felicity had expected the good officer to decline her offer, considering how humble she appeared to be. But there was absolutely no way the waitress would let this pass without properly expressing her gratitude in some form, and once she hears the growling of the other woman’s stomach (no matter how she seemed to hide it), a brilliant idea clicks into her head.
“And I’m happy the islanders have someone as reliable as you to count on!” She giggles, deciding to take this moment to put her plan into action. It would be rude to comment on what she was sure she just heard, so Felicity opts to make a simple suggestion instead. “But since we’re out and about… how about we stop for a bite to eat, before returning to the inn? All of that commotion has me absolutely famished, and I’m sure you could use a good meal, after working all day.”
It seemed as though Felicity was feeling a bit better, at least for now. Forte knew all too well that sometimes the days after such an experience were much worse, though she hoped it wouldn’t be so bad for Felicity. She seemed like such a nice girl, certainly undeserving of such an attack. Though really, nobody deserved to be attacked.
If the other woman had heard the whale in her stomach, she certainly didn’t let on. At least, she didn’t bring attention to it, instead opting for a subtle invitation to share a meal. Something Forte would not be so inclined to protest. Hopefully, her extended presence would also help Felicity feel more comfortable before she trotted off on her own later.
“I could, yes,” she thought for a moment about where they could stop, “you know, the Three Sister’s Inn actually has a great kitchen, if you haven’t already eaten there. If you would like to try something else on the island, I could escort you to one of our other fine eateries, though. Anything in particular you would like to eat, Miss Chere?”

Oh? Maybe the officer wasn’t as much as an easy target as he believed.

It took Rylan several moments to realize this. It was when he was stepping around another person did he spot the officer in the distance, his eyes barely lingering on her as to now reveal what he knew. So, he had been noticed. Curious how she would opt to play the following game rather than the typical bullheaded run and chase. Those chases were oh-so entertaining, especially since several officers had the tendency to run like boars without any idea of where they were going. Still, this could prove interesting.
Might as well make her work for it, at the very least.
Instead of moving to leave the crowd, Rylan merely turned to head into a denser part of the crowd, trying to be trickier with his movements. If she wanted to catch him in some discrete manner, she would certainly have to work for it.
When the culprit began cutting a path into a more heavily populated area, Forte subconsciously clenched her jaw. With this much of a crowd, it would be much harder to keep an eye on him, but she knew she couldn’t give up. Even if the purse itself didn’t mean much to her, it was the principal of the thing. Allowing the thief to get away was simply unacceptable.
Moving through the crowd was probably not her best option, so she tried to stay toward the edges. Figuring they still hadn’t caught on since they hadn’t taken off running, she kept a reasonable distance between them thinking it would help her to go unnoticed. All she needed was either a clear shot to take them down, or a secluded area where she could confront them.
Tch. Too bad that she would have to spend her day off tracking down and arresting some pickpocket. Better her than some unaware civilian, though.

❃.✮:▹❁ — Although it was mainly a stereotype for police officers, donuts were a surefire way to brighten up the mornings and who didn’t like them? People who didn’t favor sweets, she supposed. Before heading off to work this morning, Komari swung by the nearest bakery and picked up a couple boxes of donuts (and bagels for those who didn’t like sweets) and brought them to work.
Not long after she arrived, she was called for by none other than the commanding voice of her supervisor.
“Chief Adalhard, good morning!” She bowed her head slightly as a sign of respect for her senior. “Oh, yeah— I mean, yes ma’am. I’d like that.”
She was getting ready to follow her when her stomach growled as a reminder of the food she brought earlier. Reaching over to grab the pink box, she held it out to Forte.
“I brought donuts for you and the other officers, would you like one before we head out?”
“Very good.”That was exactly the response she wanted to hear, not that she expected anything different.
With a quick pat to her uniform, Forte had already started toward the front door when her officer stopped her. Blinking, she briefly wondered how she should handle this trial before her. Those sugary baked goods looked, and smelled, absolutely delicious, but she couldn’t... really, she couldn’t allow herself to.
At least, not in front of anyone. Perhaps later she could sneak one into her office.
A moment of despair flashed across her features before she straightened herself out, “I have already eaten breakfast, but thank you for offering. I am sure our other officer will appreciate it, as well. If you are hungry, you may bring one with you... unless you would like to eat before we go.”
She did wonder though, what the citizens would think of an officer walking around with a donut. Was it a bad stereotype? Did people even care? Normally, she would advocate for a better breakfast, anyways, but she wasn’t about to start policing eating habits, unless of course they negatively affected someone’s work performance.

[ ♥ ] — Upon hearing the woman’s title, Felicity’s eyes widen. The chief of police! She had known this woman was an officer, but to learn that she was such an important one… not only did Felicity feel infinitely more safer (not that Forte’s performance earlier had given her any room for doubt), but also struck with great admiration. She was sure the police chief had more pressing matters to attend to, and yet here she was, helping her.
“Yes, of course! Thank you again… ah, my name is Felicity, by the way.” She smiles, despite the lingering pain in her arm. “Felicity Chere.”
Once Forte hoists the man over her shoulder (earning a small gasp of awe from Felicity), the waitress follows her savior to the police station to file the report. When all of that was said and done, Felicity turns to Forte as they start on their way to the inn.
“I truly am grateful for your help earlier, Officer. Surely there’s something I can do to properly express my thanks…?”
With the police report filed for the morning, and that pathetic excuse for a man locked up tight for the night, Forte breathed a small sigh of relief. Though she was glad to have been walking by when she did, it still bothered her that it happened at all. In a perfect world, those kinds of things would never happen in her town. Wouldn’t that mean nobody would need her, though? What a conundrum.
Walking side by side, Forte was about to protest when her stomach growled. Taking down a villain and carrying them back to the station always had a way of working up her appetite. Perhaps she could catch a meal at the inn, if it wasn’t too late.
“Oh, there’s no need. It is my job to see to the safety of everyone on this island. I am happy enough knowing I was able to help you.” She replied, hand over her stomach as if that would help hide how hungry she was.
Truthfully, she felt a little guilty that it happened at all. Nobody should have to suffer at the hands of such ruffians. Forte was sure to make a note about the dimly lit streets, as well. Maybe taking care of that would help with crime.

░ ⚡ ░ Dylas was having a damn good time right now. His first ambitious trip out at the deep waters of Pelago Islands was a damn fruitful one. Not only did he get a good amount of rare scales that sold for an easy big amount of Gs, he caught a King Fish! Right after selling the smaller fish, he focused on finding a decent place to sell the Dragon Carp. It was big, heavy, and was guaranteed to sell for good cash. Now all he has to do is find someone willing to buy it from him.
He was walking around the different shops in Arcadia and wondered what the best way to find a buyer. Should he just yell and hope someone bites — no this wasn’t just like fishing. Maybe someone in the market would —
His train of thoughts were interrupted by a sudden voice. At first he didn’t see her when she drew closer to him, but when she spoke of a catch, he knew it was directed at him. ❝ Huh ? Like hell i’d tell you where I got it . ❞ What was up with this woman?! Did she seriously think he’d just happily answer her just because she asked?! Never mind that fact that he was DYING to tell someone about how he caught it…
❝ It’s a king fish — you need skill and just the right amount of luck to get one , heh. ❞ He proudly says that, the tail behind him wagged furiously like a good dog waiting for a petting. He was drenched from fishing in the rain but there was no denying how happy and fulfilled he looked just by catching that fish.
What a rude response...
Under her bangs Forte’s eyebrows furrowed just a bit, though on some level she understood why he said what he did. He must have been a serious fisherman to not reveal such a secret, and well, maybe it would be a little rude of herself to invade his fishing spot.
Still, she did want to know, but there was something else that caught her attention. Was that... a tail? Wagging? Curious.
Clearing her throat, Forte pulled herself back, hoping she hadn’t been staring too intensely, “a king fish? I’ve heard of them, but have never been lucky enough to catch one myself. Quite a feat... what do you plan to do with it, if you do not mind my asking?”

Rylan hummed to himself, trying to make him as inconspicuous as possible. Which, mind you, wasn’t the most difficult task in the world, He simply had to wear muted clothing - nothing too showy or too covered - and simply act as though he were another person on the street off to some unknown destination. And while people didn’t pay him a second glance, he would fish whatever he wanted out of all of their pockets.
Ah, pick-pocketing was always a fun way to pass the time.
However, as he walked down the road, he spotted someone familiar to him. Not a person he had interacted with, of course, but someone he knew was a member of the police force. And she wasn’t in uniform.
Well, wouldn’t it be funny for a police officer to get pick-pocketed off duty?
Hiding a mischievous look, Rylan acted as casual as possible, walking right by her…and leaving with a nice little wallet. And he walked away, pocketing it for himself as he waited to get to a private location to see what exactly the police officer was carrying around.
Years of training, and the nature of her career choices had ingrained awareness in her. Most times her hyper-vigilance was to her advantage, though it could occasionally feel like a curse.
At first, she thought nothing of a man walking behind her as she turned away from the window she was browsing. There was something a little too close for comfort about him though. So much sidewalk, and this person decided to walk so closely to her. Eyes instinctively followed the back of his head, narrowing as her hand went to her side and she realized her purse was gone. Of course, there were other people on the street, but none had come quite as far into her personal space as that one had. Besides, she was sure that her purse was on her just moments before. Her gut wasn’t often wrong about these kind of things.
Sights set on the offender, she silently wondered whether or not she should call him out, or follow him. Probably the latter, at least for a while. If she called out to him, he would likely take off, and she knew how chases usually went. While she often caught up with a suspect, there were often innocent bystanders caught up along the way. Yes, for now she would follow at a bit of a distance, until she had a clear path to them.

Walk With Me || Komari & Forte
@sombersonata
Busy, busy, busy. Forte had been so caught up in her work, she barely had time to sit down with the force’s newest recruit. It was a shameful state of affairs for the chief of police, and she internally kicked herself for not doing so earlier. Now there was time to get to know them, though. Or at least, she hoped.
Always early, Forte kept an ear out for both the arrival of both her officers that day. Lest had been doing well, though she did want to help him train more. She wasn’t sure how the other was holding up though. Once Komari arrived, though, Forte poked her head out from her office.
“Officer Akiyama,” she called out as she moved into the doorway, “good morning! Would you accompany me on a patrol this morning?”
It would be the perfect opportunity to get to know her most recent subordinate; to see how well they did in the field, and how they were taking to the work.

Fishing for Info || Dylas & Forte
@thundafists
Still perusing through the shops of Arcadia, Forte had gone quite the distance from one side of the island to the other. This wasn’t much of a feat for her though, she actually walked most of the island every single day. Such was the nature of her work. Maybe though, it was a little bit nice to have more of an easy-going walk that day. She had taken a full morning run earlier, so it wasn’t like she was being lazy or anything.
Walking down the streets, she had stopped a few times to chat with some of the citizens. Check on their wellbeing, mostly just as small talk. The people on the island were usually quite kind, and welcoming of some passing conversation. It reminded her a bit of home.
As she left one brief chat, her attention turned to a face she didn’t recognize. A man with some strange accessory atop his head, carrying something rather large slung over his back. When he came a little closer she noticed the fishing pole he carried, and it suddenly became a little clearer. Even though he was much taller, and it was still hard to make out, she was sure he was carrying a fish.
That’s a huge fish!
Impressed, she couldn’t help but speak out when he was close enough, though he likely would have passed her by. This was a perfect opportunity to find out more about yet another islander, or visitor, whichever he may be.
“That is quite a catch there, sir. Do you mind if I ask where you caught it?”

[ ♥ ] — Ah, the Flower Festival… what a wondrous time, filled with love and happy feelings! Flowers weren’t too high on Felicity’s list of interests (of course, that applied to just about anything that wasn’t food), but she could appreciate their beauty, and the heartfelt sentiments attached to them.
So before she heads out to her evening shift at the restaurant, Felicity stops by City Hall to buy some flowers for a few friends, paying a courier to deliver them for her. Hopefully everyone would enjoy their gifts~
Paid 4,600G to @magic-of-negotiation for delivery and purchase of flowers.

@forte-days-and-knights - Pink Rose
Miss Forte,
Do you remember me? Felicity? Well, whether you do or don’t, I would like to thank you again for coming to my rescue on that dark night. If it weren’t for you, I’m not quite sure what would have happened to me. Thankfully, I won’t have to find out.
It may not be much, but please do accept this rose as part of my eternal gratitude, and admiration for your valor and bravery.
Deep in her work, Forte was surprised when someone came to the station for a delivery for her instead of coming to report a crime. She was even more surprised to find it was a flower delivery for her: a single pink rose. So pretty, she couldn’t help but smile.
Who in the world would send flowers to her, of all people?
Luckily, it came with a note that Forte quickly unfurled after ducking into her office. The smile on her face stayed as she read through it. Short, but sweet, of course she remembered Felicity. Though they met under unfortunate circumstances, it truly warmed Forte’s heart that someone would even bother to thank her in such a way. She often wondered how the young lady was doing after her ordeal.
Finding a glass in her office, Forte set the rose in it, and the note in her desk. Maybe next time she was in Leuda she would see her, and chat. To see how she was, and to thank her for the lovely gift.

Excuse You || Rylan & Forte
@iamnottuxedomask
Now that Forte wasn’t running the police station alone, she occasionally allowed herself to take some time off. Normal people might take that time to relax, but Forte either spent her free time training, or running much needed errands. Now that her brother was home, she also took the time to find him little gifts while she was out.
It wasn’t a terrible day for a stroll either, and she wasn’t the only one out. The streets of Arcadia were moderately busy, as they usually were, and she made sure to say hello to almost everyone she crossed paths with. Not only to make sure everyone was safe, but she knew it bolstered the relationship the police had with the community to be friendly and present. Besides, her work was never really done since she was ready to jump into action if needed.
As she walked through town, she found herself stopping at a few of the shops windows. If anything caught her eye it would likely be for her brother, but most places that day she simply stopped and looked. Seemingly unaware of what might be going on around her.

[ ♥ ] — Felicity tries to hold herself together as the kind officer tends to her wound, her eyes constantly darting between her arm and the man lying not too far from them. But most of her attention was centered on him— mostly because she was worried he might get up and try to finish the job, and partly to keep from having to look at the horrible wound on her arm.
However, the officer’s rough handling certainly made the latter difficult to do, and Felicity lets out another hiss of pain as her savior tugs the bandage a little too hard.
“A-ah…” She winces, “Y-yes! I would be glad to…”
Perhaps she was being overly sensitive, but it was difficult for her to speak through the pain. Especially since Felicity, as pampered and protected as she was by those around her, never had to suffer from such an injury before. To others, like this officer, it would probably be considered as nothing more than a flesh wound.
In response to the other woman’s question, Felicity nods, biting her lip to keep another whimper from escaping. “T-that would be much appreciated, Madame. I’m currently staying at the Three Sister’s Inn, so… if it wouldn’t be too much trouble…”
Though Forte couldn’t see the woman’s pained expression all that well, she certainly caught the little hiss that escaped the victim. Unfortunately, she knew there wasn’t much else she could do. Hopefully, the initial pain of being bandaged, and the pressure that came with it would pass.
“Good,” Forte replied softly, gesturing for the young lady to follow her, “I am Forte Adalhard, chief of police here, so rest assured you are in safe hands now. Allow me to collect this man,” disgust marking the word, “and we can be on our way.”
Still out like a lamp, Forte was able to lift the man’s dead weight enough to get a good grip and lay him over her shoulder. The hardest part was getting him up over her shoulder, but carrying him was really no large feat for Forte. Of course, she could have dragged him by whatever hair he had on his head, he absolutely would have deserved it. It probably wouldn’t look good to have the chief of police dragging someone through town by their hair, though.
“The station is not too far from here, and then we can go straight to the inn.”

Anemone: Have you ever felt abandoned?
Her hand balled into a bit of a fist, thinking about it. There was a time she felt like that, but she was a little ashamed to admit it. Taking a deep breath, she spoke softly, “when my father died, I was very young. At first, I did not believe what I had been told, and once my brother and I were moved to the orphanage, I started becoming angrier with the whole situation.”
Feeling her breath catching in her throat, Forte paused before continuing, “I was upset, because I felt as though our father had abandoned us. Our mother had passed not long before, and then our father was simply gone. No trace. It was difficult to take the loss of both our parents, but I know now it was not his fault.”
Forte bit her lip, remembering what she had learned. Remembering what that meant, “he died in the line of duty, fighting for justice and to protect the people. A likely fate for any knight, he was an honorable man.”

Narcissus: Do you love yourself? How do you practice self-love?
Forte was taken aback by this question a little bit. It was inevitable, she did this every time she heard the “L” word. Which was absolutely silly, but it still happened that way.
“Uh, I suppose there are things I like about myself, but I think there are many things I could improve upon. My discipline, strength, training...” She stated, nodding in an attempt to hide her own insecurity.
There were many things she was insecure about really. Her adoration of cute things, liking sweets, having any of her scars exposed, romance... she was certainly confident with a sword, knee-deep in battle, but social aspects of her life were lacking. Though she tried her best not to hide it.
But how did one practice self-love, was that something she was supposed to do? How would she even do that? Honestly, it sounded a little silly to her, at least for her.
“I suppose I practice self-love through training hard everyday?” She said, sounding as though she was guessing at the right answer.
