I was bored and procrastinating so here’s a rundown of how runes work for Wildfyre

1. Runes manifest as the characters before use. Basic, but true.

2. Runes can be manifested in 2 ways, their figurative aspect or literal aspect. Sometimes these overlap. Eg, I headcanon Wildfyre uses a rune such as Raido when angry with an enemy (Raido brings negative consequences to actions) but there’s no attack element to its meaning, so it uses the figurative meanin. Or, one could use Hagalaz to create an explosion, Ansuz to make an arrow/wind, or Kenaz to make fire (literal).

3. Wildfyre can choose when to release runes and can therefore make runes hover in the air. Wildfyre can also aim where runes are placed.

4. The only rune Wildfyre doesn’t openly use is Kenaz since it is technically the source of their other powers.

5. Runes can be manifested for other reasons than attack (Raido speeds up travel) and some runes are purely defensive.

6. Theoretically, Wildfyre has the ability to bond runes to other people giving them powers the same way Wildfyre obtained theirs, but it’s never been tried

7. Wildfyre associates people they know with runes (ex they might associate Vav or Prock with Jera [time], maybe Forte Rose with Laguz [water], or Dauphine Phoenix with Berkano [healing].)
