as an oc writer, even if someone's rules state they're oc friendly, it can still feel daunting to send people asks or request starters when you haven't established dynamics yet; if you're a canon writer and you're okay with oc writers sending you asks or requesting starters or prompts for their ocs, reblog this to let them know! if you're ever unsure what to do as a canon writer when someone requests an interaction with their oc, reach out to them! oc writers will likely have some ideas on how to kickstart an interaction between your muses, and it gives you both the chance to communicate with each other more openly!

[discussing game setting things as I think about potential verses and au's. massive spoilers for the entire game ahead. not any muses I write on this blog, but I have been thinking of using the character to write a fic. Maybe.]
[so, the time period of the game
We see on Verso's grave that fire set by the Writers occurs in the early 20th century, specifically December 1905.

It's weird, though -- it says he was alive February 22nd, 1879–December 33rd, 1905. There is no thirty-third day of December in the Gregorian calendar. I gave a gander to the French Revolutionary Calendar too, but there are only thirty days in its months. Is this an easter egg maybe, or is it calling to other subtle differences in the "real" world of the game?
This would also put Ve.rso at age 26 when he died. The painted Ve.rso in the game could maybe be 26 I suppose, but I have to wonder if maybe the version Aline painted of him was slightly older?
CO.E33 takes place in a time period where photographs, while still somewhat expensive, are slowly becoming more accessible as cameras become lighter and cheaper to buy. This time period also marks the birth of film in the real world, with the Lumiere Brothers' (whom the city of Lumiere gets its name from) 1895 motion picture aka short film, La Sortie des ouvriers de l'usine Lumière (Workers leaving the Lumiere Factory). If we are to believe that CO.E33, aside from its December having thirty-three days or more, is similar to our own timeline, then that would mean both motion pictures and photographs exist and are becoming more popular.
One more thing I want to point out is that the Lumieres were children of a painter. Pretty neat parallel there.
Part of why I started thinking about time period in the first place is because there's a plot I have in my head, very heavily inspired by an episode of my favorite show, that revolves around a (conditionally) immortal man who has lived for thousands of years, and he's eventually found out by 1) a colleague along whom he began teaching college as a professor when they were both relatively young, but now the colleague is an old man, and the immortal hasn't aged a day, and that colleague began to recognize the immortal's face in photographs, and 2) a woman whom the immortal married long ago and abandoned, then that same woman saw a photograph of the immortal man in the newspaper announcing he was about to wed his colleague's daughter -- and she then tracks him down and goes to kill him. I feel like I could make some kind of AU inspired by this, I'm just working out what it may be.]

I really loved the lovecraftian au ideas you came up with, do you have any more?
Character A is trying to find the secret to immortality, but all of their tests have resulted in terrible failures. Dejected and angry, Character A makes one more final, mad attempt to create the potion and then tests it on themself.
While looking for shells on the beach, Character A and Character B notice a cave that’s just large enough for them to crawl through. Inside of the cave, they find a grotto that’s scattered with bones…and a sleeping sea monster that looks like nothing they’ve ever seen before.
“Call me paranoid and sleep deprived, but spend one night in my house and tell me that there isn’t someone – something – living inside of my walls that comes to disrupt my sleep every night.” AU
Characters A and B are twins who have always believed that they have psychic powers, but have never gotten the chance to try it out. One night, while their parents are away, Characters A sets out to conduct a ritual that would harness both of their dormant powers, but somewhere between lighting candles and Character B chanting from a book, something goes very, very awry.
“So here I am, on a boat in the middle of the ocean, ready to throw myself overboard so that I can make sure that this necklace and the curse that it carries will never plague another person.“ AU
When Character A’s significant other (Character B) brings back an ancient artifact from an archaeological dig, Character A begins to feel an ominous presence hanging around their house. Strange things begin to happen, like small whispers that are just out of Character A’s range of hearing, and subtle provocations to do things that Character A wouldn’t otherwise do – take a bite out of a lemon, stare at their reflection for hours, store their knives/weapons in the refrigerator, etc. – but Character A can’t bring themself to destroy the artifact.
or an alternate AU route: Character A does destroy the artifact, but the mysterious presence is still lingering around them.

LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING A MOMENT.
you don’t need fancy icons to roleplay with me.
you don’t need to write in small fonts to roleplay with me.
your theme doesn’t have to look like you gave your soul to photoshop to roleplay with me.
i won’t rp with you if you don’t read my rules.
i won’t rp with you if you have a sucky attitude.
LET TUMBLR ELITISM DIE.
#[I use graphics and things because I think it's fun to make and use them]#[feel it gives my blog identity]#[however you are under no obligation to use them and I judge blogs based on the mun and the writing first and foremost]#[because at the end of the day rp is a writing hobby]#( ☀️ ) ⸻ out of character#[I don't? Know that I've ever heard of others rejecting rp partners because they don't have these things but maybe?? People don't say it]#[writing with graphics and things doesn't make you automatically elitist]
