What is a Carrier Route?
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds” is an unofficial motto for the United States Postal Service. Though it has no official status – it is merely a motto written on the James Farley Post Office in New York City – it has been associated with mail delivery for many years.
The people who deliver the mail, the mail carriers, take routes to get the mail to each and every residence and business in a specific area. These are called carrier routes, and there thousands of them in the United States.
