feeling oddly sentimental this evening, maybe because it's the holidays or maybe because i'm just sentimental, but i just wanted to take the time to say thank you to every person who's ever commented, liked, read, or even glanced at one of my fics, who's ever followed or read my stuff here or on AO3.

i was telling a friend earlier today i've been writing fic for over ten years now. some will never see the light of day, but a lot did. good and bad, all over this website. my marvel fanfiction, my criminal minds era, my svu stuff, and my top gun stuff has all been steps on a journey that i've had the great pleasure of taking part of with all of you who cared enough to read.

fanfiction has been a reprieve, a respite, and a delight. for a lot of my life, tumblr and fic has been the place i've felt like i could be myself. i discovered myself here. i first came out to people on this website, as bisexual, as non-binary/queer. i've made friendships that i have a feeling will stand the test of time, and i've read things that have made me cry and laugh and feel every emotion ever from those friends and others.

this isn't a goodbye or anything like that. this is simply a thank you. for being here on this part of the journey. you have helped me more than you know.

so all of that to say, thanks for letting me write. because i may never write a novel, but i have this. and it's a hell of a lot of fun.

say what you will about endgame, but i don’t think any movie experience will ever beat the tears i felt build hearing sam fly in to help steve, hear “hey, cap. on your left” and then watch him fly in

like the emotion after seeing them snapped, the absolute gut-wrenching moment watching some loves of my life getting erased, and then that moment when sam comes back, and you feel that tightness in your chest lessen and release

not to mention some of THE best theater experiences i’ve ever had

i don’t know, i have my opinions of these movies retrospectively, but i cannot deny how much these movies made me feel and i’m feeling extremely nostalgic thinking about them and what in the moment emotions had

you need to deliver a staff to enthir. what staff? who is enthir? it’s been so long since you were asked to deliver this staff. it remains in your inventory, though you do not remember where you got it. you know exactly where enthir is, though you do not remember his face.

the waterfalls have stopped working. you seem them in the distance, still, unmoving. you can hear the crashing of the water, but it is frozen in place. the locals do not notice.

you open a book. restoration increased to 100. you open another book. enchanting increased to 100. you spend only a few minutes in this library, and leave as an all-powerful being.

you realise that you have only ever heard the same five voices. everyone you meet starts to sound so alike. you have killed many people who screamed in your wife’s voice.

you have never seen a dunmer child. you have never seen any elf child, in fact. the only children here are nords. you soon realise that their faces look exactly alike. even the eyes, you notice. they are wide and afraid.

you have seen many dragons crash straight into mountains. you have seen fewer dragons emerge from the mountains.

you have forgotten the songs of your hometown. the melodies faded from your memory long ago. you try to ask the local bard to play your favourite childhood song. you try so hard. your memories escape you. you have only ever heard five songs. you ask him to play ragnar the red.
