1. Lipstick stains on Smoke's skull in the mornings that seem to last through the day.

2. The two of them cuddling in bed, sharing their feelings about how the world puts so many pressures on the both of them.

3. Their hands always seem to find each other's in stressful times.

4. Smokes wiping away the mascara stains that seem to find themselves on Red's round cheeks when Red thinks too much.

5. Red singing to Smokes with Smoke's head in his lap, petting the top of Smoke's skull as he treats Smokes to the dulcet tones of his deep voice.

Mettaton's mind couldn't process how Blue only kept being nice to him. Part of him almost thought the affection was fake or out of some sense of obligation. He ever so desperately wanted to not believe that part of him.

"There's... nothing about me to compliment. I don't even know what you'd say about me that wouldn't be awful or a lie."

Mettaton was silent once again, going on to wipe at his watering eyes. He hated himself a bit too much when it came to situations such as this.

"I-I think you're one of the first people to ever say nice things about me like that..."

A silence washed over the room as Mettaton refused to speak. He couldn't quite find the words he wanted in order to respond to Blueberry.

"..." Mettaton leaned against the counter.

"Why?" he asked softly. "Why do I get a happier, healthier life? I'm- not special. I'm not good enough for that. You-"

Mettaton bit the inside of his cheek as he tried to drown out his emotional pain with physical pain. "I think... I think you should've just left me back there. I'm hardly deserving of a life here..."

He swirls around the strong smelling liquor in his shot glass, pointedly looking at it with his bottom pair of eyes.
