RP Summary: so let us not be lonesome

Summary: In the worst instance of payment on delivery ever, the organs that Darcy promised to Albatross fail while he’s picking Teddy up from the airport. Teddy drives Darcy to the hospital, and several hours later, a tearful reunion with Silvain ensues. The gang sorts out a lot of issues surrounding what Teddy being brought back to life actually means, and Teddy fesses up to making an additional deal with Albatross, to everyone’s general dismay. Dakota shows up to lecture Darcy for putting himself in danger, and Teddy decides to make himself scarce.

Summary: Connie busts Lissa out of her containment cell, to stage her kidnapping/disappearance and put pressure on Vantage to take Silvain and Darcy seriously. It works, but only sort of. Preston agrees to mutual cooperation with the agents, promising to talk specific terms after they fix the Lissa situation, and ensure he doesn’t get in trouble with the Tartarus family. Albatross is annoyed with the arrangement, and warns Silvain and Darcy to be careful, now that Vantage will likely see them as a threat.

Summary: Connie flags K down while they’re on patrol, expecting a meetup with his friend Caleb (the original one), and wondering why they blew him off the other night. K does their best to play it cool, but breaks character fairly quickly, admitting that Vantage abducted Caleb, and that this is the first time they’ve met anyone in El Asilo who actually knew Caleb before he moved there. Connie takes the news badly, and tells K that Caleb is better off dead than captured by Vantage. They fight.

K has a panic attack on the way home, after parting ways with Connie. Connie, going the same way, helps them calm down, but refuses their request to talk about their shared grief for Caleb. They part ways again, on even more uncertain terms.

holy shit

1. reuben doesnt know how to feel about denver when he wanders into the shop one day, looking to take up an instrument to fill some of his time.  reaching out with his powers reveals that something is very, very wrong.  the memories are jumbled and fragmented, and in some places gone entirely.  to reuben, it's almost like looking for a heartbeat, only to find that there isn’t one.  

2. when denver asks if he’s the one who can erase memories, he nods, too taken aback by the question and the state of denvers mind to realize where this is going.  a fist collides with his jaw, and suddenly, denver is on top of him, demanding his memories back.  they scuffle, and reuben throws denver out.

3. denver comes by three more times, and the result is always the same.  denver thinks reuben has stolen his memories, somehow - he can’t even DO that, he always insists, but it’s like talking to a brick wall - and they fight.  finally reuben knocks denver out cold in the middle of the shop and spends the next hour frantic, watching denvers memories unravel before his eyes and trying to find out where to put him and where he belongs. 

4. denver spends the night.  and the next.  and the next.  reuben shuffles through his memories in vain, but he can’t make heads or tails of them.  it’s like trying to find his way through an ever changing maze, or trying to fit together a giant puzzle that’s all one, flat color.  he doesn’t know where to send denver, but he can’t just put him back out on the streets.  he’s not nearly as heartless as he pretends to be.

5. they start to get along better.  the cat takes a shine to denver.  reuben starts leaving sticky notes around the house for him once he gets a better handle on just how denvers memories unravel.  coffee here.  lunch in fridge.  don’t go downstairs until 8PM - our music shop is open.  he leaves pictures of himself and arty near denvers bed with notes on the back, explaining who they are, and he buys the cat a new tag that says ‘hello, my name is Oberon!’ 

6. denver settles into a new, comfortable routine, unaware of what he’s left behind until fratelli busts into the shop one day when he sees him and is so relieved he starts crying.  reuben almost kicks fratelli out, but denver insists he’s important - he has a tattoo of his name, and that has to mean something, so the three of them resolve to puzzle it out together.

1. funnily enough, it’s denver who remembers cedric.  he’s seen his face so many times at the bottom of newspaper articles and online that he’s hard to forget - which is why when denver finds himself lost one night, unable to remember the way home, he gravitates towards cedric, who’s just getting off work.

2. it’s a lucky thing that cedric knows fratelli, and can figure out where to take denver without much trouble.  being the way that he is, he’s sure to feed denver before taking him home - he’s not sure how long denvers been wandering around, bur surely it’s been long enough for him to get hungry, right?3. denver writes about cedric in his notebook after seeing him online.  he pastes in pictures from the gazette articles when he can, and clippings of his stories.  he’s never been one for reading the paper, but cedrics stories make him feel like he’s outside the apartment for once, joining in on the hustle and bustle of the city, and sometimes even like hes fighting against vantage just by reading them.  it’s nice, and he savors those feelings for as long as he can.

4. cedric starts texting denver.  he sends pictures when he’s out working on stories, and describes the people he meets and what he gets up to.  it’s hard for denver to leave the apartment without fratelli, and it gets lonely, but this makes him feel less isolated.  

5. denver has matching tattoos to remind him of fratelli, of what fratelli means to him and to remind him that he’s safe.  he doesn’t have a tattoo to remind him of cedric.  he spends the night and forgets, waking up in an unfamiliar place with an unfamiliar man.  still, cedric is nothing if not adaptable, and all those photos he’s taken for and with denver finally come in handy.

(( darcy/fratelli ))

1. it's fratelli who reaches out to darcy, of course, but darcy quickly takes a shine to him. it isnt long before theyre meeting regularly at the coffee shop he works at, and fratelli is taking the time to draw little animals in his coffee foam. darcy's especially fond of the seals.2. darcy has a lot of time on his hands, and precious few people to spend it with. he finds himself seeking fratelli out more and more often just to enjoy his company. he's more than happy to listen to fratelli - which is a nice change of pace, considering it's fratelli who listens to everyone else.3. after chiron's investigation, darcy is injured badly enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. fratelli leaves work early to visit, only to find that he's somehow managed to check himself out, despite his concussion. he spends the rest of the night terribly worried, searching for darcy until he finally gets a text with a location.4. fratelli arrives mid-panic attack, although darcy is trying desperately not to let it show. it makes him feel sick, seeing darcy suffer - hurt and scared - and he realizes theres a lot about darcy he doesn't know. he resolves to start asking - but later. right now, darcy needs a blanket and some tea.5. they talk practically all night once darcy calms down, the sounds of wheel of fortune filtering jn through darcys tv. darcy answers every question hes allowed to, being as honest as he can about the ones he cant. he explains hes not used to being close to people, to being genuinely allowed to open up without putting himself or others in danger.6. darcy apologizes for scaring fratelli, and rather then tell him he doesn't have to, fratelli kisses him. darcy gets the message.
