Completed the last background - Mountain, and drastically improved the shading in the river scene!

In Progress Game Backgrounds

I'm using Makecode Arcade to create a small self care game inspired by dæmonism and pets apps! Here are a look of a couple of the backgrounds you can choose from in game, the Desert, River, and Valley. It was so difficult to work with such a limited ruleset, the final game must be under a certain size, there are only 15 colours, and the screen size is 160x120 pixels, so things can't be too detailed, but I've had so much fun using trial and error and learning to code too.

Pocket Money Commissions

Hello there! I'm opening up commissions, simple but affordable. As the name implies, the cost is no more than a bit of 'pocket money'! I am studying at college right now but one day I want to be able to do commissions full time, and this is me dipping my paws into trying it out. I will draw pretty much anything, excluding nsfw.

Cringetober Day 8 - Tumblr Sexyman

In the spirit of eldritch horrors and monsters winning the recent polls, I’m throwing an abstract hat in the ring. This is Sky Ward, yes, separate words, he will obliterate you if you call him Skyward. This was very fun to just mess around with the brushes, though I feel Sky Ward is a bit out of place among all the standard tier sexymen!

Cringetober Day 7 - Pinterest Art Base

ORIGINAL BASE: Draw the Squad (base) - WTF ARE YOU!?! - QueenCookieMonster

Needless to say it is very difficult to try and draw an owlin at a human angle. These are some characters from a D&D campaign I am DMing! Featuring golden boy Erekros, jerk of all time, Kiblu, a kobold who knows very little about how the world works, Xafi, the redheaded gnome on the run from her old thieves guild, and Sherukin, an owlin brought up by tabaxi and decidedly is the mum of the group.

Cringetober Day 6 - Neko

A bit of catch up, I wanted to expand a bit on my headcanons for a furry version of Professor Layton! I think Randall would be some kind of super fluffy dog, like an old English sheep dog! But as the Masked Gentleman, he fashioned a fake cat tail and long, lynx-like ears, hoping that it would throw off all his old friends. His natural fur is rather hard to keep hidden though under his slim feline disguise, but he adamantly refuses to let Descole shave him.

Cringetober Day 5 - MS Paint

Broke open the old paint for this one. Because I was working with just a mouse on my computer I decided to do something abstract with the classic pen, rather than trying to make a 'good' picture despite the media. It was fun just to scribble!

Cringetober Day 4 - Angel x Demon

I did not feel like exploring a specific OC today, instead I wanted to make two creatures - dragons - with one that exuded a more soft, fluffy angelic feel, and one that had a spiked, threatening, demonic feel. I think these dragons would be inseparable!

Cringetober Day 3 - Unnecessarily Complex Fit

New OC, meet Lourico, Lou for short, an eager dog who lives for the life of performance, often taking a leading role at local fairs. Young pups watch his tricks and dances with awe, while dogs of older ages admire his grace and form. He made his outfit himself!

Cringetober Day 2 - Self Insert

Seems these prompts are letting me dig into my old high school OCs. Gloriana was a character who made me feel less helpless in those rough years, though now I’m rather embarrassed by her, as she was rather ‘cringe’ for lack of a better word, definitely a Mary sue type! Regardless, she was the first self insert I really consciously developed. Gloriana is female as at the time that is what I thought I was! How things change.

Cringetober Day 1 - Heterochromia

Here is my first piece for Cringetober - An OC I’ve never properly drawn outside of rough sketches, this is 5AKU5H1/Sakushi, a robot girl! I used to just imagine her with blue eyes but the bright pink really complimented it in a way I love that I wouldn’t have tried without this prompt!

Artfight Batch 4/4 - Pixel Brush

The final selection of Artfight pieces - just two in here but the style still stood out to me.

These pieces were both done using IbisPaint's 'digital pen' brush, though I think that name is a bit misleading, it's much more like a detailed pixel brush! I really loved how crisp it looked and will definitely be using it going forward. There's a certain quality to this brush where it gives the impression of pixel drawings but also a classic drawing, I can't figure out how to word the effect!

Artfight Batch 3/4 - Lined Pencil + Mixed Shading

Artfight drawings part three! Somewhat similar to the previous style.

This selection still employs heavy use of the pencil tool, but also includes clear outlines - usually from the dip pen - and generally more visible shading. shading here has been done with darker colours or strong use of the pencil, either to increase contrast or convey a texture slightly less ethereal than the previous batch. All of these pieces are clear and definable, and this is probably my dominant style.

Artfight Batch 2/4 - Pencil + Soft Shading

This is the second selection of my Artfight pieces for 2023!

Very contrasted to the first batch, this collection either employs very little use of outlines, or no outlines at all, making the characters less harshly defined. Paired with all these pieces using the pencil tool to define shapes, they have a very soft, gentle feel, and I often found myself using light or airy colours to match the slight fuzziness of the pencil. Also different to most of batch one, the shading on these pies is never really harshly defined but much more subtle and 'fluffy'. I really enjoyed these pieces, and ended up really liking the lack of defining lines.
