I think we as a society need to be reminded how good the original Powerpuff Girls was. Here's some of my favorite things about it:

the fight scenes had a level of punchiness and impact that was rare for cartoons of the nineties, and fight scenes that were way better than what one would expect from a comedy

The character writing is so good that a large portion of the show's most iconic episodes consist of just showing how the girls' personalities react to different scenarios, for example in one episode the girls take turns recapping a fight that had just happened, and the tone and art style of the flashback changes depending on whose telling the story

One of the recurring extras is a talking dog that goes about it's day like a normal human

Each girl has mostly the same powers with one special ability that sets them apart. Blossom has ice breath. Bubbles can speak to squirrels and is also fluent in Spanish. Buttercup can curl her tongue.

while the majority of the show is lighthearted comedy sometimes it'll just decide to be nightmareworld for an episode and i think thats pretty cool

The show utilizes a blend of classic upa linework and sixties art deco shapism to create a visual style that is utterly timeless. If the majority of the show wasn't cell animated you would not be able to guess when it came out

The main villain's speaking patterns were directly inspired by The Super Dictionary. AKA, the same book that brought us this:

In the season one finale, the girls fight a giant monster using a mech suit. During the fight, there is a sequence that is literally just 20 uninterrupted seconds of an absurd amount of missiles coming out of every possible orifice of the robot. And then they miss.

There was an anime adaptation made in the 2000's and its actually pretty good, like it does take a lot of creative liberties but its clear that the people making it understood the spirit of the original show and were just adapting it to reflect japanese pop culture in the same way the og show reflected american pop culture.

The show had an insanely kickass soundtrack consisting of early techno so clean it's kind of shocking that it was made in the late nineties and not the early 2010's pre-dubstep era

Meet Elentiya

Mentions of Kitten Passing and short-term Mum/Newborn Kitten Separation below.

My cat, Padmé was pregnant with two kittens. Elentiya was born November 23rd, and her sibling, November 24th. But due to unfortunate circumstances, Elentiyas sibling didn't make it, so she is a little singleton. An only child, only kitten? Either way, Elentiya is Padmé's only kitten.

This means that Elentiya came into this world and had to go a few hours alone and cold without Padmé as was at the vet regarding the other kitten.

November 24th, at 4 pm, Padmé alone had to go to the vet in regards to the second kitten, as it was not coming out fully, and was stuck for a few hours. Padmé's vet was closed that day(a Sunday), so it took those few hours to find somewhere that ended up ultimately being at my vets clinic, with an on-call doctor coming in to see her.

But guess who's still here, and is a crazy hyper kitten, just the same, as if she didn't go through what she did?

Elentiya is now 44 days old. Just over six weeks. Her name is from a book series favourite of mine, Throne of Glass, by Sarah J Mass, and the name itself means "Spirit that Could Not Be Broken."

I think her name fits. Why wouldn't it, when you're the sole surviving kitten, and you manage alone for a few hours without your mum when you're just over 24 hours old?

I am very proud of Elentiya AND Padmé. But I can't wait to see how else Elentiya comes to fit into the name.

Though others I've read have where Lucien leaves, or he goes to confront Elain about it. They are all amazing still, I love them all! I love Elucien angst as much(of not more) than fluff. Hense my name.

Mine is closer to your headcanon than the others, though he doesn't cry, and Elain comes to him.

Summary :: When Lucien unintentionally witnesses the midnight meeting between Elain and Azriel, on Winter Solstice, it brings Elain to his door.

Sneak Peak ::

He hadn’t meant to see them. It had just been a coincidence. He would swear on his life that he hadn’t meant to see them. But he did. He could also smell them.

He could smell her arousal, as she had her meeting with the Shadowsinger. He felt a rage, deep within. Those primal instincts that came with the mating bond. He closed his eyes and pushed down on that rage. Efficiently stamping it out, before he left the way he had come, before he could be seen, heard, or have them smell him.

He made it back to the room he was staying in, and he realized how much of them was even in the guest rooms. It made sense, this was their home in their court. But he hadn’t realized until now, just how suffocating it felt.

My headcanon is that Lucien was awake during that night, that he knows exactly what happened between Azriel and Elain and he is heartbroken after that. Everyone believes he would fight Azriel, instead he was crying all alone in his room, because his mate was about to kiss another man, when she can't even look at him.

I've had extremely busy days the past few(hense why I haven't been able to post the daily fic rec of my completed Elucien fics leading up to today). I don't want to do a drabble a day, I want to do something proper, kind of like I did for A New Life during Lucien Appreciation Week.

So I'm gonna try to post for today, and make a week long, seven chapter fic, but if I can't, I'm gonna do what I can and post one big(ish) fic featuring all the prompts at the end of the week. I'm gonna try and make it on time, and not late, but life happens.

I'm not a Christmas Hallmark Movie person, but my mum is, and she will start watching them in OCTOBER if she can. So I know the formula. This fic may be a tad rushed, but at the same time, I do enjoy how it turned out.

At the end of the day, it comes down to ELAIN and HER choice. Her endgame could be Greyson for all we know. It's highly unlikely, but we need to respect Elains choice in the end.

Let's Talk about "Elains Book"

I just woke up. So I'll keep it brief.

I am making this post with a SHIP NEUTRAL point of view.

Again. This is a SHIP NEUTRAL POST

I want to start out by saying, I ship 🌸🦊. I am firm and will not stop shipping 🌸🦊.

A lot of people in this fandom hear this term and automatically connect it with 🌸🦇 When really, it's not. It simply means it is ELAINS book

We have the 🦇 path, which is most linked when hearing the words 'Elains Book.' But we also have the 🦊 path. Okay, so, while it IS clear, it may have a bit of a breeze to it. Fair. She's giving him the cold shoulder.

And Elain, where she currently stands, has two paths in front of her. No matter how much we all dislike it, she has two paths, both clear.

Why is the 🦊 still open and clear, despite that breeze, though? I'll give some examples.

Elain took that single step down towards Lucien without him knowing before Rhys winnowed him to the continent in Wings and Ruin.

Feyre fighting for Elain and Lucien to just be more comfortable with each other in Frost and Starlight, even though Elain said she does not want a mate or male.

Mor telling Feyre that Elain and Lucien will come around despite Elains current stance of not wanting to, so to leave them be and let them figure out and come around on their own.

Every single gift Lucien has given her, while not used, Elain has kept. We do not know where, and have never seen them again, but we know she has kept them, because there has been a conversation about using the gloves Lucien gave her, so her hands wouldn't get cuts.

She has not yet officially rejected the mating bond despite knowing she can.

We all know I am firmly ship 🌸🦊 and that will not stop even if it goes the other way. But there is still that other path. The 🦇🌸 path. And it is also clear.

Clear as it is, it has some thorny roses coming over the grass and onto the path. Elain has room to walk, but there are thorns to be careful of.

Those thorns came from Azriel telling her their meeting on Solstice night was a mistake. She did get cut by a thorn and returned his necklace.

But until the next book is officially confirmed, and who the main couple will be, Elain has room to walk on this path. Let me explain why the 🦇 path has that room.

If my memory is correct, Azriel was the first person(aside from Feyre) Elain asked a question to, in Mist and Fury.

Elain was the only one to make Azriel laugh at Solstice in Frost and Starlight, with her gift of headache powder.

Elain thinking of Azriel, thus giving him ear plugs at Solstice after the festivities in Azriels Silver Flames bonus chapter.

Also, in Azriels Silver Flames bonus chapter, Elain wants to kiss Azriel. ***(find matching stars below)

So, as you can see, the path is clear, with room to walk, despite the thorny roses over spilling into it. Even a firm, unmoving, stubborn 🌸🦊 like me can admit that.

Both paths are clear right now. They may have 🦊Breeze and 🦇Thorns, but they are still clear.

So circling back to the top. Elains Book could go either way at this point. People need to stop hearing the words or even using the words "Elains Book" for only 🦇🌸 because it is ELAINS Book and does not belong to a ship.

I tried to keep this brief! I promise!!!!!

*** I would like to touch on this part. Elain wanting to kiss Azriel. She did. She absolutely did. Before that, Azriel could scent her arousal on her. But remember Lucien was in that same house. And you can't control your body's reactions to when your mate is near. So the arousal may have been cause by Luciens closeness. But whatever the case, if it is mate related arousal, Elain wanted to kiss Azriel.
