And the results are in!
In last place is "no interest" with 6 sentences. Not actually a wip name of course, but I'll just use those 6 on the Siren au I want to post in May.
4th place is Jult with 7 sentences.
3rd place is Death Tree with 12 sentences.
Tied for 2nd place with 14 sentences is the Ice King au and the Pokemon au.
And first place belongs to... Shigaraki with a total of 18 sentences.
Thank you to everyone who voted. I'm under a lot of stress from a project right now, but by mid-May I'll be doing better. Until then, thank you this because it's giving me motivation to work on my wips little by little.
I've decided to do the thing where I put a poll up of my wips and write however many sentences that wip gets. BUT! These wips aren't even published yet. I like to put something up then come back to it later so I can at least take the pressure off myself. Because the pressure of getting a first chapter out makes it difficult to write.
Jult - Inspired by a conversation me and my sister had in a shoe store. We were wondering if Best Jeanist ever put a J at the front of words (ex: Jhe Jaghetti jas jood) and if he owned jean themed items like a Jable and Jhair. Then I learned there was a jult around him and thought "hey, what if he had a Jult in canon universe?" which is what happened. Although, this one is a one-shot.
Snippet: The parents would leave the hospital as confident and reassured as new parents could be, doing their best to make sure their child grew up happy and healthy. His blond hair grew out and took on a shine along with his oddly long lashes, and his green eyes always sparkling, much like his mother’s. Yet, despite his healthy look and appetite, there was something worrying about him.
He only liked denim.
Shigaraki - Frankenstein AU! Where AFO brings Yoichi back to life, Frankenstein style. And what luck, Yoichi appears to have lost his memories, leaving him with the opportunity to create the perfect little brother. When Second and Third find out, they try and get his memories back. But there's something that all four of them don't know. That's. Not. Yoichi.
Snippet: It was not a dark day when Yoichi died. It was sunny and there was not a cloud in the sky, though they couldn’t tell as they ran through the sewers like frightened rats. Hearts pounding in their ears, terror palpable in the air.
Ice King AU - The AU where everyone was born earlier into the Age of the Dawn of Quirks. Second and Third are brainwashed and work for AFO while Yoichi has become unrecognizable to everyone ever since putting on the quirked crown that gave him the ice powers. Meanwhile, Izuku and Katsuki are unaware of his tragic backstory and beat him up everytime he kidnaps a hero.
Snippet: At twelve years old, Izuku Midoriya should have been in middle school cutting open a dead frog. Instead, he was battling against a very large, very alive frog with acid spit.
Pokemon AU - Instead of quirks, they get pokemon. Izuku is still bullied for having an eevee that can't evolve. AFO and Garaki do all sorts of unethical experiments on pokemon. And it's really annoying how I can't type an accented "e" on my computer for some reason.
Snippet: Izuku Midoriya was 9 years old when he learned that not all Pokémon were treated equally.
Death Tree - Are you in the market for a fic with lesbian duoholders? Another Victorian era AU, but this time Yoichi and Second are both girls. I thought about how easily AFO's possessiveness over Yoichi would translate over to the attitudes toward women. He'd still have to disguise how deep it goes, but even if he slips up every once in a while, no one would suspect anything. The actual plot is Yone falls in love with the daughter of the stable manager, and they eventually start a secret relationship. She also makes some friends in the small town that she lives near and is pretty happy. Then her friends start dying. Looks like they're going to regret not paying more attention to AFOs behavior.
Snippet: Yone was thirteen years old the first time she met the girl. Her wild hair was a flame in the summer sun, freckles scattered across her cheeks in a way that was reminiscent of the stars in the sky and calculating ruby eyes. She couldn’t help her staring, not used to seeing someone display such blemishes so freely.

Before the asking game is closed... Do you have some specific En headcanons? (Maybe including headcannons between the relations of En and the other users.)
Ty! 😊
You're welcome. This time, I'll do headcanons specifically focusing on his relationships with the other users. The other headcanons I have for him are here and here.
Yoichi thought the new holder was very quiet, but had a good head on his shoulders. And because I headcanon that En grew up poor (not on the streets though) and had older siblings, they were able to bond over similar experiences.
Kudou was worried that this new user wouldn't have the willpower to keep OFA out of AFO's hands. He changed his tune after the first attempt to steal OFA and approved of him. When En joined the void, they talked about their differences in fighting styles and compared notes, becoming friends along the way.
Bruce understood what it was like having to deal with people who you liked, but were honestly a lot, so he and En bonded over complaining.
Hikage liked him immediately. They had similar personalities so they could understand each other, but talking was difficult, especially because this was the first new person he had met. He already knew the first three and Banjo, so he was really anxious to make a good impression on En. It would be awkward for two vestiges not to get along since they all shared the same mind space. They got there eventually though and get along well.
He met Banjo when he first signed up to be a hero and Banjo was the one to mentor him. He really helped him get out of his shell and be a bit more confident in himself. They became good friends and were happy to see each other again in the void.
En met Nana through similar means. He was assigned to mentor her as they both had quirks that didn't seem too useful on their own. As he taught her, she showed that she was a good candidate for OFA because he knew there was no way he could defeat AFO. They were also happy to be reunited in the void, and even though he didn't agree with every choice she made, he was proud.
He liked Toshinori. Mainly because of that EPIC PUNCH HE DELIVERED TO AFO!!! WOOHOO!!! Although, he wished the 8th would take care of himself more. When Toshinori joins them in the void he'll be happy to get a chance to know Nana's successor better.
He was on the fence about their Ninth holder. After all, they had all been adults when recieving the quirk, but a child? In the end, he decided to give their Ninth his full support because in his shoes, En didn't think he would have declined either. And the ninth reminds him a little of himself when he was young with how shy he is. It's too bad he'll have to wait a while to meet him. It's not like their gonna gain the power to talk to each other or anything...
Bonus: En being the youngest of his siblings is glad to finally be able to act as an older brother to their ninth when they do get the power to talk to each other. He thought he was that way with Nana but he was still her mentor and that made things complicated.
I hope we get some En backstory soon. Even if the one I have is totally wrong, his canon backstory would be fun to work with and may give more insight on his relationship with the other holders.

Headcanons Banjo pls
I have so many about him!
He's a huge fan of western things. I like to think that he and All Might would bond over their love of western style stuff. Although, it's mainly the cowboy and Texas stuff that Banjo likes while All Might likes the western superhero comics.
In fact, his love of cowboy style is why he has that bandolier on the inside of his jacket despite not having a gun or anything to shoot with. He just thought it looked cool. The open jacket is because he overheats easily, so he and En often eat ice cream together. Even in the winter.
He got teased as a kid once they realized his last name sounded like the instrument, so out of spite he learned to play it and realized he also likes country music.
Actually, he likes any song that has a good beat, so his playlist is a mix of genres and artists. But he's not one to really listen to the lyrics.
He sucks at cooking. He's good at other household work but he gets distracted and forgets that he's cooking something so it burns. He lives off of microwave meals and takeout.
After finding out the "go" in Daigoro is spelled with the kanji for "enlightenment" I like to think he does meditation as a way to calm down.
He's pans. For no other reason than I thought the flag colors fit him.
I have a lot of theories as to why he shaved his head but one I think you'll like is that he had an odd hair color and the first few heroes had to look "normal" for the public to accept them. (Imagine if it was the same color as blackwhip so he had a similar hair color to Deku.) I also like to think that whatever the original reason was, he'd still shave his head if he was a girl. I'd draw that if I could.
He's skilled at tying and untying knots.
He's good at math, but terrible at literature because he was more straightforward and didn't get why people don't just outright say what they mean.
Laughs at horror movies and pretty much any moment where they don't want you to laugh because he thinks a lot of it is just ridiculously overdramatic or unrealistic.
He always wanted a big dog, but he didn't have the room for one and his job as a hero kept him too busy.
If he had to do a job other than hero, I definitely think it would be something that requires a lot of moving around. I can't think of a specific one, but I know he would hate having a job where he does nothing but sit at a computer all day.
Basically, I headcanon that he likes nature in general. Not to the point he'd live in the woods for 18 years, but he likes it and enjoys going hiking.
He was that one kid who was kind of loud in class, but respected the teachers. As he grew older, I can see him patiently listening to the stories of old people or carefully listening as an old lady teaches him to knit.
He made it his mission to make sure that no one felt left out and tried to include everyone in things, something that he's been doing since childhood.
He loves bad puns. He's got a dad joke sense of humor.
Not superstitious or one to believe in conspiracy theories, but he'll listen to the rants anyway.
He can be kind of forgetful about little things. He always puts in the effort to remember appointments and birthdays, but he constantly forgets to charge his phone and where he put the remote.
He'll eat or drink pretty much anything. The opposite of whatever a picky eater is.
That's all for now since this is getting long. Thank you for giving me a chance to share my Banjo headcanons.

Hey sorry for late question but fics with multiple chapters in them are fine right? For the Middle May competition I mean.
Of course! The only thing I can think of is if it doesn't have an ending by the end of the contest it might not rank as high as fics that do have an ending. You're welcome to keep working on it after the contest of course, but I'll only be scoring the chapters that were released during the contest.

Another for your ask game. In this universe what eventually becomes the Hero Commission has known about and opposed AFO for all this time. Second and Third were hired wet works agents employed by the Japanese government. AFO is the biggest enemy of Japan once they were made aware of him. OFA is known to a select group of higher ups as the best chance to end AFO, and the users are given a blank cheque, as well as support to accomplish this. What's different in the lives of users 4, 5, and 6 when they're not alone and more people are working on the AFO problem?
Teamwork makes the dream work.
The commission still sucks. Trying to take down AFO is like, the only good thing they've done, but Second and Third didn't know that. Meanwhile, Hikage, Banjo, and En are all the captains of their own small teams, working to find info on AFO to take him down. When Second got the quirk, it was a total accident, since no one knew Yoichi's power could be passed down. After he and Third conducted some off the record experiments, they figured it out and brought their findings to the president. Then AFO killed Second and Third himself knew he wouldn't be able to take AFO down, so he decided to hand it off himself. Unfortunately, the commission got in the way and forced him to give it to Hikage before he could make a choice.
Hikage was picked because they thought he would be easy to manipulate. They forgot there's a reason he managed to become a leader of a high up top-secret government team. Yeah, he was pretty nervous about getting such a huge responsibility dumped on him, but Banjo and En helped him with the responsibilities. Although, they couldn't help but be a little suspicious of how hard the commission was asking him to train.
One day, they're having a meeting on Hikage was skilled enough to take on AFO and his anxiety reaches sky high levels, causing him to run off. They have his team and Banjo try and get him back, but Hikage manages to out run them because the commission gave them permission to use force. Banjo and En were the only ones who didn't and managed to get him back. With their support, he goes back and agrees to fight, but only on the condition he can give the quirk to Banjo. They have no choice but to agree.
It's battle day and the teams are going to fight AFO. The battlefield was a small island where a lot of AFOs facilities were. The fighting was bloody, but with Hikage and Banjo tag teaming while their teams chipped away at AFOs strength, and Gigantomachia lured away to another island, the tide seemed to be turning in their favor. A little too much. Turns out, the commission didn't tell them that they planned to sink the island to make sure the facilities were gone because they figured there was no way even two OFA holders could take care of AFO with all the power he had gotten. Clearly, the power of friendship was a foreign concept.
AFO manages to get away, but the facilities are gone and he has some permanent damage (not potato face level but he's pretty messed up). Hikage died because he spent so much energy trying to get everyone off the island, he had none to spare for himself. Banjo was angry at the commission and defied them at evey opportunity. His anger made him impulsive and he also died at AFOs hands. En got the quirk, and after learning from his predecessors, he and his team made a plan, not to fight AFO, but to slowly infiltrate his inner circle and then pull a Julius Ceasar where they all try and kill him at once. It worked! Particularly in thanks to Shimura, who dropped a very large rock on his head.
I like to think that if they had tried teamwork earlier, AFO would be dead sooner since he really doesn't let people help him much and the quirks he had on hand would've been weaker. Strength in numbers.

Technically, Yoichi and AFO are sirens.
Desperately hoping to do a mermaid au for May. And then get a certain someone's Dad Might Birthday Gift Fic out in June along with the Middle May Prizes.
In fact, me wanting to write a mermaid au was foreshadowed in Moondrop during the dream sequence. The fics have nothing to do with each other though. Here's what I have so far:
Among the many species of sea creature, there was one feared above all else. During the time of the great plague, they were said to have been hunted to extinction, along with many other magical creatures in search of a cure, whether they were innocent or not. Many fled deeper into their respective realms, occasionally taking out their anger on to the same humans who hunted them. Storms, earthquakes, fires, all caused by angry spirits. But this is the tale of the one exception to the rule: the tsunami. For this spirit isn’t angry at humanity, but instead has been saddened and betrayed by his own kind.
This is the tragedy of Yoichi Shigaraki.
Yep, good ole Romeo and Juliet style doomed by the narrative romance. Telling you right from the start that this'll end badly.

May I have headcanons on how Daigoro Banjo and Hikage Shinomori met? I have many ideas of my own haha. Thank you!
YES! I was hoping someone would ask me this one. I have my own take on how they met and have been wanting to write it, but the time has never been right for that. I'll put that one as a bonus. Which got long.
A drunk and/or injured Banjo wanders into the woods. Hikage finds him and takes care of him for the night, but fully expects him to be able to walk off the next day. To his surprise he's pulled into conversation the next day, and by the time the sun sets, he's got a friend.
They actually knew each other when they were kids. Not well, since Banjo was a little younger, but well enough for Banjo to remember the quiet kid who hid in the weirdest spots. Eventually their lives took different paths, but you can bet he was surprised to see his old acquaintance sharing berries with a rabbit in the middle of the woods.
A villain was trying to escape through the woods and Banjo chased after him, leading him to team up with Hikage to take him down. Once that was done with, Banjo had a lot of questions for this guy and they ended up becoming friends.
A bit of a reverse to the last one where they team up to find some missing hikers in the woods and become friends along the way.
Hikage got a bit too ambitious while training with OFA and accidentally hurt himself to the point he needed a hospital. He tried to get to one, but with how deep he hid, he collapsed just as he got the forest entrance. Luckily, Banjo had been exploring and found him just in time.
Bonus: My Take
AFO got tired of chasing Hikage around the woods and was busy running an empire, so he decided to hire some help. An assassin with a homing quirk (it worked by getting small objects like knives to chase after a target), though he instructed that Hikage was to be captured alive so he could get the quirk. The assassin and Hikage fought until he managed to knock them unconscious which cancelled their quirk and he dumped the body outside the woods. The nearby village found it, and despite the assassin being alive (though not after AFO found out) rumors spread until they say Hikage killed them.
A little later, Banjo would come into the village on vacation from hero work. He heard the scenery was nice and wanted to hike, but the villagers warned him about the murderer in the woods. He thought it sounded too much like a ghost story and went anyway. Besides, he was a hero so he could handle it.
It was a normal hike at first, but he couldn't help but feel like something was watching him. He was never the most patient person, so he spun around and asked "Who's there?"
Hikage, slightly impressed, came out of the woods.
"So, you're the murderer huh?"
He snorted. "Is that what they say about me? I didn't kill the assassin they sent after me if that's what you're wondering about. And I'm not leaving these woods."
Banjo was surprised at the mention of an assassin, but figured it would be best not to ask. "I wasn't going to ask that. So, if that's everything, I'll go finish my hike now."
He left, feeling eyes on him the whole way back.
-
Banjo couldn't get the forest guy out of his mind. He had so many questions and he wanted answers, but he knew he wasn't going to get them by asking. Not Forest Guy nor the villagers. He needed a way to gain his trust. But how?
As he ponders this, a sign catches his eye. He smiles and walks into the store.
-
The smell of soup attracted many small animals that were scared off by a loud noise and one large animal that was not. Hikage was confused, wondering if someone had dropped the container, only to see a note attached to it that read: Hey, I thought you might want something home cooked.
He regarded it suspiciously but Danger Sense wasn't going off and the soup did smell good. With a shrug, he ate it. It tasted as good as it smelled.
-
And so, the food continued. All sorts of things that could only be cooked in a home with spices and pans rather than roasted over a fire. Once a day he would find a container of food left in the woods. Until one day, when he went to check for more food, a man was there, standing a few feet away, holding his own container of food. Danger Sense wasn't going off, but Hikage was still confused.
"What are you doing here?"
"I thought you'd want the company."
"I don't think I'll be very good company."
"I'll be the judge of that," Banjo said, plopping down and opening the bento he had bought with him.
-
And so that became the new tradition. The two sat noticeably apart from each other, eating the lunch Banjo bought. Hikage nodded and hummed occassionally as the other talked and when they were done, he would leave. Yet, his standoffishness didn't put him off. To Hikage's surprise, he kept coming back. It made him feel happy and warm, which terrified him.
"Are you a spy?" he asked one day.
"Pft, no. But that does mean you're someone worth spying on?"
Hikage wondered if this was part of the plan to get him to admit the quirk he had inherited. "No, but I couldn't think of any other reason for you to keep coming back."
Banjo smiled, "Well, I thought you looked lonely. But if you want me to stop, I'll stop."
Hikage opened his mouth and closed it after a few moments. Minutes passed, neither of them moving. "I don't want you to stop," he admitted.
-
From there, they grew closer. All thanks to that manual Banjo bought at a pet store, which explained how to lure out feral kittens.

For your ask game: The lives of users 4, 5, and 6 in a world where AFO is dead. The guy picked a fight with another quirk warlord as powerful as he is and they took each other out.
The mission of OFA was fulfilled without them having to actually do anything.
Canon universe is jealous.
While the rest of Japan is celebrating (literally the entire country), Hikage has no idea since he doesn't have a news source. It isn't until Banjo wanders in the woods, drunk from all the festivities does he know. Well, actually he finds out the next day after Banjo sobers up because he's not going to believe a drunk guy about something that big. When he finds out what happened, he's happy, but also kind of empty. His whole purpose was training to pass on OFA to defeat him, so now what? Banjo thinks that would be a great quirk for becoming a hero and tries to convince him to go back to society but Hikage refuses.
Banjo decides to visit him regularly and leaves only to find the newly formed HPSC in shambles. Within the span of one day, some AFO wannabee, who was once a hardcore AFO supporter, murdered the president and freed some very dangerous criminals, leaving the heroes split up as they try to wrangle them back into jail. He runs back to the forest and tells Hikage, who is skeptical (again). Frustrated with him, Banjo just ties him up and takes him to the outside, which is in chaos. Luckily, this villain doesn't know or care about OFA.
As they try to find a way to get to the villain, they find that the guards around the HPSC building (which has already been taken over) have already been taken out. When they go inside, they find one of the newer heroes, En, who was responsible for getting rid of them. There weren't many since it's only been one day and a lot of the people there were maintenance and furniture movers, not villains, but the main villain was at the very top of the building. Which wasn't hard to get to because the elevator was working.
The three team up and with their combined might defeat the villain after a long, really cool looking battle. Hikage finally feels satisfied that he got to use the quirk passed down to him for good and feels like he can retire in peace. He already passed his quirk to Banjo during a tense and dramatic moment of the battle, so he decides to go back to the woods and let Banjo become a great hero. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be that simple seeing as their fight was recorded and broadcast by a news helicopter.
En can no longer be an underground hero due to all the publicity, but Banjo helps him handle the sudden popularity. And they both get some nice pay raises. Meanwhile, due to public demand, Hikage somehow became the new HPSC president, despite being 26 and with 0 presidency experience. He somehow gets the hang of it though, and the future is much better with quirk-friendly policies and no child soldiers.
Yoichi may have been sad about his brother dying, but at least he gets the happiness of his quirk being used for heroism.

Middle May ask game! Do you have thoughts abt Hikage forming his opinions on the state of the world being so bad that he stayed away for eighteen years? (Did he plan to be gone for less time at first, did he ever go intentionally check or just speculate.... etc! Any little relevant incidents, I'm just curious for your take)
I do have my own theories on this.
I think part of it was just trying to stay off the grid and away from OFA, but his main reason was definitely a dislike of society at the time. And it makes a lot of sense.
There were all sorts of riots and battles going on at the time, meaning danger sense would be going off almost all the time. And while there were definitely some good people, watching some of those good people die at the hands of others would've definitely made him more cynical of humanity in general. I imagine his thought process as "What good is left when all the light I've known has been snuffed out?" (a quote I made up)
Also, I think he felt useless. Second and Third both had quirks that could do physical things, even if they were weaker then, they still helped people. But Hikage's quirk only helped himself. Strengthening OFA would make him more helpful, so he might've planned to be gone for less time at first, but I think self-doubt got to him. He's the one who thought it would be better to just pass it on to someone else despite being strong enough to break boulders (and quirks were weaker at the time so that definitely would've been a lot). And look who he handed it to! Banjo has a strong quirk that can help other people, and he was able to go out and fight as a hero.
So, to sum it up, I think that a large part of his opinion on society came from cynicism caused by watching his predecessors die and to disguise his own self-doubt.

Hey for ask game how about 5 headcanons on a What-If scenario where En unfortunately is All For One’s son?
(yeah I like En a lot I think he’s neat.)
I like En and want him to be happy. But I did this.
He was born by complete accident. AFO had only recently learned what sex was, being raised a street rat, and realized that having it was a big deal apparently. He decided to do it so he didn't look lame by society's standards. Unfortunately, he did not know a thing about protection and Miss Tayutai was too starstruck to question anything about it. When AFO heard the news that she was pregnant his first thought was to get a paternity test. His second was to think about what having a child would be like. He was actually kind of excited to be a dad because if he and Yoichi were identical twins, then the baby would also be Yoichi's baby and have his DNA. It would be like raising Yoichi again.
En was born and AFO was the father. Unfortunately, the MHA curse struck. En looked like his mom. Not a single bit of Yoichi to be found in his looks. AFO was disappointed but the baby still had Yoichi's DNA so he decided to keep it. But he was so angry about the way he looked, he killed En's mom and named him En after his ugly gray eyes, the color of smoke.
En grew up with a critical father who never admitted his own faults and loved to point out the littlest mistakes En made and make fun of him for it. And yet, any talk of leaving was immediately shut down. "Why would you leave? I only do this because I love you. I'll be lonely. I can't lose you like I lost your uncle." The uncle that En was constantly being compared to. "Look how pretty he was. Nothing like your ugly face." So En started wearing masks and the like to hide his face.
En became a very anxious perfectionist and hated his looks. Yet, there was one thing he had in common with his uncle: A love of heroes. He wanted to be one, but with how much his father made fun of his weak quirk, he knew he couldn't. Then one day, as he was walking in the park he was accosted by some villains and got so scared he lost control of his quirk. A hero saw the smoke and ran to help. Lariat. He complimented En on his quirk, the first compliment he had ever received about his quirk. He's so shocked he doesn't think and just asks if that means he can be a hero. Lariat shrugs and goes "Why not? Here, I gotta drop these guys off and then I can help you get started."
6 months later (they didn't require a lot back then) En becomes an underground hero. Naturally he keeps it a secret from his dad since he's not allowed to have a job or move out despite being 20. But AFO never paid him too much attention which allowed him to get away with it for a while. Until AFO saw him on patrol with Lariat. Now, En never knew his father was the infamous AFO. He figured he did some illegal work, but there was no way he could arrest his dad and as much as he wanted to tell someone, he just couldn't. When AFO comes out, En doesn't have time to react when he begins to battle Banjo, enraged by him having his brother's quirk and for being responsible for his son being a hero. (He jumped to conclusion on that one, having only seen them patrol together, but it's not like he's wrong.)
During the fight, it comes out that En is AFOs son and some stuff about OFA. And yet, when Banjo is dying after getting that building thrown at him, he still offers his quirk to En. He takes it, wanting to use it to honor his senpai, but he knows he can't do it then. He runs away from the scene to calm down, but he knows that he can't go home now.
Eventually, he finds someone who he thinks will make a good successor, just in time to face his dad. Only, instead of killing him, AFO tries to capture him. His son and brother in the same body, what a wonderful thing. Except he wants to do all sorts of experiments to see if he can get Yoichi to the surface without a lot of concern for En. AFO uses his spike quirk to try and pin his hand but En moves and...
Well, from here he either gets sliced in half (which leads to Nana getting the quirk and an au that mostly follows canon) or he dodges and gets captured another way, which would lead to a completely different world.

Hi hi, I'm so excited for Middle May! I wanted to ask: are manga spoilers allowed? (I assume leaks aren't, but I just mean stuff anime-only fans don't know!)
Spoilers are allowed so long as they're tagged properly.

Another for your ask game. What if user number 6 was Nana's husband, Torino's friend, and Kotaro's dad?
This was fun (sad).
They meet through hero work. Nana was a spotlight hero, but not well-known which led to her being paired up with an underground hero, En, for a mission which then led to them falling in love. And after about a year they got marrried and had Kotaro another year after that. Torino wasn't happy about Nana rushing all her life decisions but En was too likeable for him to really do anything. He was the only one who would go with him to look for the best taiyaki places.
En survives whatever AFO did to kill Nana's husband (which we'll say is also his first attempt at taking OFA). They're worried about what might happen to Kotaro and Nana suggests having to leave him, which Torino agrees with. So, En makes Torino adopt Kotaro, under a fake name of course. Then En and Nana get a divorce so AFO doesn't go after her and Torino spreads nasty rumors about why they divorced to make sure that AFO won't try the "lingering feelings" trick.
It works, though AFO wouldn't have cared about Nana too much, as he believes in blood relations being closer than the bonds of marriage. Instead, his first thought was to go after Kotaro, so they got a break while he searched. During that time, Nana met Toshinori and after a bit, took him to En's hideout.
En enjoys teaching him and Toshinori isn't as traumatized with En's calmer teaching methods. Kotaro also gets to know his dad since Torino brings him around. He's not very happy that his parents can't be together, but at least he gets to know them and realizes the importance both of them place on smiles.
Then the dreaded day comes. Nana had wanted to do a patrol with her husband, like in the old days, and despite Torino's warnings, he agreed. AFO found them and it turned into a battle where after failing to take OFA a second time, En was sliced in half but still managed to pass the quirk on to his wife. He managed to hang on until she ate the hair and he died, his last regret being that he didn't tell his family he loved them.
I'll stop here since the rest would be about how it impacted Kotaro's life and this is about En, but I will say that I think Kotaro might be better than in canon. Sure, Torino is not the best advocate for hero society, but with him to tell the stories of his parents and AFO unable to find him he might have a chance at being better.

I like to write:
Friends to lovers. There can be variation to what exactly that means, but that step where they become close and after getting to know each other realize they want to be closer is one of my favorites.
Wit. I mean this both as in witty one-liners and entire conversations where the characters are keeping up with each other. I think I tend to lean more towards one-liners though.
Explanation. (You may have guessed this one.) But I do like worldbuilding and coming up with reasons for why things happen.
Describing. I love writing descriptions of people and places but I don't do it as often as I want.
Small details. MY FAVORITE! For instance, in one fic, where Yoichi never met Kudou, I put in the small detail of him examining a wisteria tree when we first met him. I love putting in those small details.
I can't think of 5 people to tag but please feel free to chime in.

Because it suits my sense of humor and personal taste, an AU where Hikage, Banjo, and En are all blood related to All for One. Yes, all of them at once. They could be his kids or Yoichi's kids or even distant cousins. Just as long as All for One has to deal with an excess of family.
I had fun trying to come up with the worst family dynamic for this.
Hikage is Yoichi's biological child. AFO wanted to start over so he used Yoichi's DNA to try and make a new little brother to deal with his grief after his brother's death, but he tweaked it a bit so Yoichi wouldn't be as weak as he had been, but wasn't so strong AFO couldn't control him. The end result was Super Anxiety, er, Danger Sense.
Then as Hikage grows up, AFO decides he wants to be a father again. This lead to Banjo being born as AFOs biological child. He does have a mom since AFO didn't want to spend years in a lab again, but he doesn't know who she is or care. Hikage is the older brother by four years.
Their teenage years were a nightmare with Hikage refusing to give any affection to his father and Banjo constantly getting into trouble. He shaved his head after an argument with his dad and liked the look so much he decided to keep it. AFO almost died from a heart attack when he heard. Then again when he found out that Daigoro went behind his back and became a hero. And a third time when he heard that his little Hikage had a child... Despite the fact that he was 22 when that happened.
Thus, En joins the family. He may take after her in looks, but he has Hikage's personality. AFO adores his grandson and spoils him. As for En's mom, she got a job offer in Australia and took it, but they still face chat from time to time.
Now for the million-dollar question: What about OFA and criminal activity? His family doesn't know. As far as Banjo and Hikage know, their dad is just an ordinary business man and Garaki is a very unlikeable babysitter. And he's just a very young-looking grandpa to En. AFO plans to let them in on a few things once En turns 18 so they can talk it over like rational adults (he says, being the only irrational one)
En decides he wants to be a hero too. At 14 he looks for someone to secretly train him so he can get into one of the new hero schools that just started up. He doesn't tell his father since he doesn't want them to worry and he wants to try and do it without his uncle's help, and he knows his grandpa doesn't think he's capable. Then, he stumbles upon a much older Third who offers to train him if he accepts this quirk and the responsibility that comes with it. En thinks that taking down the villain AFO will be a great way to prove himself to his grandfather and says yes.
I believe the rest is best left to the imagination.
