i applied to be part of a local music & art festival, and so this week my task was to prepare the artworks for it.

i took five of my selected pieces and went to my hometown where the festival will take place. it's an incredible venue, amazingly specious and industrial. very alternative vibe.

after seeing the other artists preparing their respectful spaces and hanging artworks, i started to feel like i should've gone bigger—i've only proposed five pieces whilst others had small rooms completely filled with art.

so i made a mental note to prepare something big for this festival in 2026. for now, my five paintings will grace a corridor wall, inviting curious looks of passersby in that liminal space.

i've participated in this festival in 2023 as well, so it's exciting to come back after a little break. with a promise of more collaborations in the years to come.

can't wait to see my artworks during the festival, with lights installed and everything!

and aside from this little project, i've been focusing on my commission—the album cover art.

i can't wait for more projects like this.

i love that even in my mental lows i still have something going on. even when expression doesn't come easy, i have my past self to thank for her ideas and her efforts.

here's what's going on in july:

—i'm working on the commission that i've mentioned previously. an album cover for an artist i loveee. (paid! yay!)

—i'm taking five of my artworks to a local festival that wants to exhibit my work for a week. (exposure! yay!)

—posting tiktoks twice everyday this month. with a goal of reaching 500 followers. very tasking. mostly because i've no energy for anything at all.

but i really want to grow my online presence and i believe that i can do it. i honestly don't see why i wouldn't be able to do it.

social media growth has always been slow for me, i don't know why. i've seen people who do a lot less than me and have thousands of followers. i'm at 300 after one whole year.

that's tiktok.

instagram is more like 350 after.... 5 years? yeah...

and i actually researched and studied social media marketing. hmmmmm. we will get there somewhere.

but yes, i am insanely low on energy so that's the end of this week's post. checking back in next sunday.
