I'm pretty sure this was my first time drawing a motorcycle in my entire life. It didn't come out as wonky as I feared it would!

Also, I tried a slightly different lighting technique than I have been lately. I just wanted to make it look more dramatic!

Art is dead the second you’re doing it for anyone but yourself. The whole point is that it’s messy, selfish, even a little weird, right? But the moment you start caring about what other people think, or trying to make it ‘good’ for someone else, you lose that spark, that one thing that made it yours. So just make the cringey stuff, the stuff only you get, because that’s where the real magic is. Who cares if it’s popular? Popularity kills creativity.

Hello, all! It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

Thank you to all the kind DMs and asks that wondered if I was okay. I appreciate all of the sweet words of concern, and want to quell that worry with this post 💛

I have been doing well! Lately, I’ve hit a bit of a writer’s block, as juggling my work/life balance has been challenging this spring season. About this time last year, I announced a promotion at work (yay!) and towards the end of our fiscal year (which is now 😂), I get very busy with budgets, taxes, and all the adult responsibilities that I want to toss out the window. Hooray!

I’m hopeful that by summer, and at the start of the next fiscal year, I can free up some more time to write, make art, music, and socialize online. But for now, I gotta keep my nose to the grindstone 💪

More importantly, all the free time I’m able to scrape during the weekends, I spend time with my husband, friends, and family. With the tumultuous time of our nation, I’ve been devoting my days to supporting my loved ones, coworkers, and peers to help make the community a safe and welcoming place. I’ve also dedicated a lot of time to self-care, like reading and relaxing in the sunshine, going on hikes, and staying active. Rest assured, I’m still doing my best to make the days a little bit brighter ☀️

Take it easy, my fellow writers and artists. Keep writing, keep inspiring, and keep on keeping on 💫

in the colored moonlight waited so long to dive in, make waves in the blue, blue fire

+ a close ups/detail shots cause this came out nicer than expected and i put a lot of details in it despite not feeling finished with it necessarily. but my ipad is betraying me so i caved and am considering it complete for now. i'd love to make this animated once i upgrade my ipad; my current model wouldn't even let me finish this let alone animate it rip

i wanna post the timelapse too bc the start to finish goes CRAZY but i'll probably do that later whenever i inevitably reblog it again for more visibility
