Re-opened my Tumblr Account!

Oh my god I haven’t opened my tumblr account in over 3 years!!

Since my old laptop broke, I couldn’t afford to buy a new one right away. But I’ve finally been able to save up enough money to buy a new laptop and pen tablet.

Let’s see if I can still draw LOL

This toxic culture of entitlement in the stage fandoms NEEDS TO FUCKING STOP.

You don’t ask people where to download/watch a play online for free. You simply don’t. Never ask that unless it is offered. Otherwise it’s annoying and rude as fuck.

 The answer to every “where to watch” question is always: BUY YOUR OWN DVD! 

And that’s the answer you always get from me. But would be nice if you can just stop asking me altogether. 

Those plays are not and should never be freely available online. Why? Because people who took part making the plays possible need to make a FUCKING LIVING. If you can’t afford it or have no access to it, too bad, but you should not expect anyone to solve the problem for you. Theater crews are not millionaires. Most of your favorite actors take the metro to work and they don’t make more money than an average salary-man, probably even less if they are not paid during rehearsal. If you can’t put money in their pockets by purchasing official merchandise and digital releases, you should not be expecting anything in return. So to the cast and crew, you don’t actually count because you never paid to show your support and thus has no effect in their decision-making, be it for the shows to continue or to upgrade the set and designs. Sure you are a fan, but you don’t care enough to use the most practical and effective way to let the creators know that they are appreciated.

And if you want to share those plays online, fine. I don’t agree with your choice because I think it’s bad for the industry but it’s your personal copy so what can I do. But please don’t put it in the fucking open for that 5 minutes of fame. At least make it a little harder, make people put in some minimal effort and ask for it via private message, and ALWAYS attach an online purchase link to remind people where the videos come from and how they too can support the shows. Because while I cannot stop people from sharing what they bought for themselves, I think the open sharing of plays, especially right around its official release date, feeds into the idea that “someone somehow will put it online so I never have to pay anything for it”. That’s why people almost never ask me where to buy the DVD. The question is always where to download or watch online. Because they have no concept of the fact that for a play to exist online, someone has to PAY for the DVD with their own hard earned money and take precious time and effort to rip and upload the whole thing first so you can sit in the comfort of your room to watch it without contributing a single dime. 

This simply isn’t right, and hardly decent. And the growing expectation that SOMEBODY will eventually make things freely available for you is grotesquely entitled. Nobody owes you SHIT, ok? 

Think about the consequences of such outright violation of copyrights for a second. Most of you never paid anything for the merchandise, and many are not even thinking about buying the DVD (even though is easily purchasable online and shipped worldwide). But who do you think paid for those glamorous sets and talented actors? What about their beautiful wigs that are precise down to a single strand of hair? What about their super detailed costumes? And who pays for experts to give them acting guidance and singing training? It’s the people who bought the tickets, bought the merchandise and bought the DVDs. Period. And they are not millionaires either. They too are young people who have to save up just to be able to see a couple of shows every month or so. They sometimes have to work overtime, and a sudden hospital trip might result in them giving up their precious ticket to get some quick cash. Many also line up in the cold and rain to see if they have any luck for a will call ticket if they unfortunately lost the initial lottery. They don’t have any more money to spare than you do, and you are leeching off what they paid to see. To other fans, you are the equivalent of parasites.

At the end of the day, I cannot dictate what anyone does. And I’m sure similar asks will continue to appear in my inbox. And many of you would end up never paying for the musicals while being a fan of them. Call me an elitist all you want, just always remember that someone else paid for that and what you are doing isn’t right, that’s all.

And while we’re at it, NEVER ask anyone for subtitles either. 99% of stage DVDs have no subtitles, at all. And unless someone tells you that they have subtitles, NEVER ask for it if not offered. Again, nobody owes you shit. You either learn the language yourself or be prepared to never have any subs.

Code: Realize: King of Cakes Saint Germain 

Also known as the Patron Saint of Cakes. For…obvious…reasons. Similar in style to Lupin’s cake, Saint Germain’s cake is shaped like multiple top hats piled on top of one another from biggest to small. They all look like party hats to me, but I think we all already knew Saint-G is a mad hatter deep down…and mad hare…and the Cheshire cat. Well, at least you’re guaranteed a lovely cup of tea if you join him to eat cake, that’s for sure!

Code: Realize: King of Cakes Fran 

Cake time with one of the meganes. Here Dr. Frankenstein takes a break from his usual alchemy to entertain us with bakery delights (and wasn’t there a saying in a certain series that alchemy was born in the kitchen?) Fran’s cake might not have as complex of a design compared to Lupin or Saint-G’s cakes, but this one has by far the most layers or even “mini cakes” topped on top of one another. I’m sure what most of his fans are looking at is, of course, him eating that strawberry rather suggestively! He’s looking so innocent yet not so much! Enjoy all you Fran lovers.

Code: Realize: King of Cakes Van

My true and one and only king of cake, Abraham Van Helsing of course! I love how while at the same time he doesn’t look like he wants to be posing for the photo, he makes a suggestive wink of “but if you want to see more”….because, sometimes less is more. We already know that to really get to know Van, you have to look past what’s up front, just the way I like it.

Van’s cake may not be the most biggest, towering or elaborate, but it certainly has paid the most attention to detail and made a nod to the original game. Simpler but with many significant decorations. Remember the cannon Van got shot out of? Well, it’s right there, along with the blimp from the airship race. I’m curious about the tower and ladder, but I can only presume this makes reference to his military past. The most interesting thing, however, is Sissi is on the cake! This is much like an earlier image that both are featured together. Perhaps they get along much better than we realize. Van is King, and the voice behind him is my seiyuu king ^^ This completes the “Kings of Cake” series. ♥

Well, I knew Lupin is a bit of an ego-maniac but that cake is basically wearing his own clothes! Hmnn…it’s certainly an odd-shaped cake, but very creative without a doubt and has Lupin’s signature cane, top hat, vest and jacket colors and even his bowtie! Honestly, how do you manipulate rolled fondant like that? Well, Lupin’s cake is no lie, that’s for sure. Have your cake and eat it too.

Code: Realize: King of Cakes Impey 

Given his culinary skills, it should be more like Cake Boss Barbicane! Part of an original series of illustrations for the Otomate app “Sephirot”, I believe it works as a type of card game. Nonetheless, I was intrigued by this set of illustrations and I am so glad they were included in the 2017 Code:Realize desktop calendar, where this was source from. As for the cake, looks like you standard one layer cake covered in heavy whipped cream and decorated with chocolate stripes, plus a blue-green rose, much in similarity to the color of the horologium as well as Cardia’s colors. Lick that cake Impey!
