task dump 1: all about love
Tumblr media
read more to learn about francis's love language, family, and identity! (tasks 4, 5, and 6)
Task 4: Love Language
Francis values both words of affirmation and physical touch. Words of affirmation have always been a big part of Francis’s days, both given and received. Similarly, physical touch impacts Francis in a huge way and has only grown more important to him as he’s grown, both to give and to receive.
When Francis realized his parents didn’t know that their words affected him so greatly while in middle school, he wrote a short story illustrating the point sufficiently. His dad, however, just said, “Words are cool, son. That’s how they roll.” Francis knew from this that his dad would try his best but probably not give him the affirmation he desired. This was all right with Francis, as his dad was big on hugs (Francis’s other love language). Francis’s mom loved the short story and to this day tells her son that his words speak to her. (His mom is unlike him in many ways. Something in these interactions, though, manages to qualify as Francis’s love language, so he’ll just take it.)
Francis’s physical interactions with others are very important to him. He’ll initiate conversations with a big hug and end them with a pat on the back, usually longer and more sincere. Francis loves hugs and pats on the back in return. He tells people so whenever it happens.
Francis will ensure that he gives his romantic partner the love language they most prefer. He knows that his ways of receiving love are straightforward, but his ways of giving love come across differently depending on who receives it. This is why he intends on learning more about his future wife early, wooing her the way she likes to experience love.
Task 5: Family
Francis has a large family. The Prices themselves are a five-person family with a solid background with one another. Francis’s parents, Bernard and Divina Price, each have four siblings, so Francis grew up meeting cousin after cousin at family get-togethers. (Bernard Price’s relations actually have the last name Nelson. This is because Bernard was adopted as a pre-teen into the Nelson family but retained the last name Price.) Francis’s mother has living grandparents, so Francis is familiar with the time-honored tradition of only seeing one’s grandparents during the winter holidays.
Francis dreams of someday beginning his own special family with that special someone. His ideal for the family would be he and his wife and their three children, all of whom would be adopted locally.
Francis likes to imagine what his future family will look like and act like. He has box after box of “treasures” that he intends on sharing with them when the time comes.
Francis would be totally devastated if he learned that having a family would not be possible because of his career. In that case, he would step down from whatever position he was filling and work in an advisory capacity, earning enough to support his family and giving himself enough time to spend growing that family.
Task 6: Pride
Francis identifies as a heterosexual and demisexual cis man. (Demisexuality entails sexual attraction to the person of a preferred gender only after a strong connection has been forged.) Francis additionally uses the pronouns he and they, though he describes himself using the pronoun he.
Francis loves the LGBT community. His heroes in industry and history identified fluidly. Francis wants to express his support as an ally and do what he can to further LGBT causes.
Francis used to think that he might be bisexual, but careful thought and experimentation revealed to him that he was straight after all. This time, however, remains one of Francis’s favorite periods of his life, and he is glad that he possessed the confidence to consider every possibility.
Francis enjoys creating visuals for LGBT organizations in his spare time. He uses a dedicated laptop for his contributions to these organizations and goes by the anonymous name “Kaleb Wittman.”

task 12: secrets seven
Tumblr media
read more to learn seven secrets about francis price!
Secret 1: Francis feels somewhat strongly about this: his living conditions need to be exactly how he operates and thinks, or he will experience a real panic attack. He’s come home in the recent past to find that his parents “cleaned” his living areas and bedroom for him, and the fallout was always severe. When Francis explains that he prefers his spaces to be his, this secret is the one he will always go into.
Secret 2: Francis would similarly have a real panic attack if this secret made its way to public knowledge: he worked hard to find the best clothing and jewelry (his ears are pierced) for his body type and spent an entire year researching online the coolest styles for his personality and style of expression. When people know that you tried very hard for your fashion sense, Francis has seen, they tend to devalue your wardrobe choices afterward. Francis will make sure that he is the only one who understands the effort that went into, and still does go into, his signature look.
Secret 3: Francis won’t mind if his friends or acquaintances ever learn this: he has perfect pitch. The Prices were not a musical family, so Francis discovered this natural gift in the spring of fourth grade, when he took part in an elementary production of Grease. (He played slick talker Sonny.) His gift of accurate vocal pitch discovered, Francis went on to learn the guitar chords for all of his favorite songs, including 80’s hits “You Might Think” by the Cars and “Take On Me” by a-ha. He still plays these songs in his bedroom and sings along to unwind after long school days.
Secret 4: Francis’s friends and immediate family understand that Francis possesses no instinct for physical danger. He would walk into traffic if he didn’t have a reason to stop and think about it, such as the bright red hand sign that urges one to wait to cross. If Francis ever gets seriously hurt—and he’s come very, very close—he will only have himself to blame for not letting this secret spread more widely.
Secret 5: Only Francis’s mother knows that Francis likes 80’s music more than any other type. Francis had to tell her in the summer after fourth grade so that she would buy him his guitar.
Secret 6: Francis wishes that he could talk about this more openly, but people wouldn’t understand his rationale behind using both he and they for his pronouns. The topic is widely diminished by those who do not want to learn more about it and choose to make fun of it. Francis likes the pronoun they because it shows that he is more than societal gender roles would imply. He likes the pronoun he because it shows that he is brave enough to identify as a man in a culture in which men consistently drop the ball.
Secret 7: Francis has had “prophetic” dreams before and entirely attributes his biggest successes to them. Francis knows that no one would ever believe him; he prefers for people to think he’s normal. That said, Francis’s dreams have encouraged him to choose, for example, the first option instead of the second option, which helped him meet a good friend of his at a summer camp that the first option he encountered during his day led to. They have also told him to stay home from school on a day during which the entire school experienced a three-hour fire drill, for reasons that Francis will openly talk about. The three-hour fire drill would have been disastrous for someone as spontaneous and free-spirited as Francis. Francis fears his entire circle turning against him and calling him “crazy” for believing in this special gift.

Francis felt defeated. He’d tried his entire arsenal of strategies to get this physics experiment to give the proper result, but the arrangement of basic household items seemed to defy physics laws. Whatever he was doing needed to be simplified, or better yet, made to look even cooler so that he’d feel even better when he eventually succeeded. Yep, that was the answer—make it look cooler. Francis started to tinker.
At the sound of footsteps, Francis turned to look up and down the hallway. He was outside of the physics wing of Redwood College, so he knew that a fellow student probably wanted to know which professor had assigned this madness. They would be disappointed to learn that this was in fact a personal project. Francis would show this to his actual professor in fifteen minutes and ask if she agreed that it was a valid interpretation of yesterday’s lesson. She probably had to agree because Francis was trying so damn hard to make it make sense.
“I’m sorry,” said Francis with a tired laugh. “I was working on something I came up with. Do you need any of these supplies for an actual assignment? They’re from Jemison’s cupboard. Or are you interested in projectile motion?” He did not seriously think this person cared about projectile motion as much as he embarrassingly seemed to.

Francis was talking to someone at his company (as in the company he specifically did not want to be at after graduation, Bernard Price’s legacy and Francis Price’s minefield Regalia) about a trend he had noticed in regional markets. This trend was very minor and did not matter at all, but the mid-level manager was going on and on about how Francis needed to write up an official report and submit it to the lower-level manager he had been assigned for anything he actually did with the company. (Again, this was specifically not Francis’s job. He didn’t even have a Regalia ID. His father was urging him to participate in company-wide events that had to do with business itself, and Francis was getting pulled deeper and deeper into nonsense he had no stake in.)
Now that Francis was sufficiently worn out by that conversation, he wanted to get something to eat to replenish his energy. Enchanted Rose Cafe was close, so he headed inside and grabbed an open table. Somebody next to him was on her phone, presumably texting or browsing social media; Francis asked her, “Excuse me, please—is there someone else at your table? I have friends coming in two minutes, and they’ll need chairs to sit in.” He smiled, as if to make this request less jarring and weird. “They’re quiet, also,” Francis added for the woman’s benefit. He thought this woman had a distinctly beautiful face, and he wondered about her life apart from getting food at cafes…if she liked her job, like Francis didn’t, and if she liked her time spent eating on her own, which Francis could only wonder about. People seemed to follow his moves at all times.
“And I’m Francis Price, B-T-W,” he told her amiably. “That would be Bernard Price’s son, if you know him.” Something about this woman’s general appearance told Francis that she knew who was who in Redwood Hollow, and, though Francis’s father didn’t actually live in Redwood, he had connections all over the damn town. So Francis thought he’d give this woman a chance to get to know him, if she did in fact know CEO Bernard Price and Regalia.

charlotte couldn't stand being in a giant manor estate alone, it felt jarring. grabbing her bag, she left the estate and walked down the streets of redwood hollow. before she knew it she had stopped outside enchanted rose café. entering the store, she made her order and paid, and found a free table for her to take a seat at. after taking a seat, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and took to scrolling through her socials to pass the time.

Francis had spent an entire morning working on an economics project that was rapidly heading south. The experience had drained him so much that he felt quite prepared to tell the professor what had really happened: his economics rival and unfortunately (romantically) interested rival Millicent Fletcher had elected not to show up, so Francis and company had pieced together her part of this project on their own. As if Francis had needed another reason to think about Millicent Fletcher’s life outside the econ classroom.
Now Francis was just going to buy a large popcorn from the local movie theater. Yes, he was going to eat his favorite food in silence in his SUV (the car wasn’t technically his) (yet), and he was intending to enjoy the experience because it was all the fun he was going to receive from something material today. His evening would be occupied with more Regalia prep (because his dad didn’t want him to “forget his roots at the company”, and that meant giving a very real presentation to very real employees of the market analysis company about who he was and what he intended to someday do as a fellow employee…nothing, because he probably wasn’t going to work for Regalia anyway—he was going to start his own damn business with his own damn ideas). Now that the popcorn was actually in Francis’s hands, and he was striding out the theater door, he was suddenly distracted by something unexpected!
Francis absolutely loved dogs!
“Oh my God,” Francis told the woman who was caring for the small dog, “you have to understand—I’m in love with this sweet dog of yours right now! Can I pet him or her or them? I’ll be calm about it, I swear.” As if instinctively, he took a step closer to the small dog. He wished he had a pet of his own…or at least knew someone with a pet just like this one.
“By the way,” said Francis, because he’d gotten into the habit of introducing himself to new people he saw in town, “I’m business student Francis Price. Just wanted you to know, in case you ever run into me near college campus and I’m able to talk to you again.” The woman looked very pretty, and Francis wondered what she did during her spare time—if she liked to see movies or what. Francis would probably do that if he weren’t so invested in becoming a better artist right now.

After leaving her sister alone in the cinema, Elsa felt a pang of regret. She thought of ways to make it up to Anna and eventually decided to surprise her with a cute little dog. Determined to find the perfect pet, Elsa headed to the pet shop, where she spent a considerable amount of time choosing the right one. She finally settled on a small dog that she thought would be perfect for Anna. Determined to make the surprise even more special, Elsa decided to let Anna name the dog, as it would be her responsibility to take care of it. With the dog in hand, Elsa made her way back to the cinema to reunite with her sister and bring her a little joy. She decided to wait outside till the movie was over.

all about francis
Tumblr media
Intro Post—read more to learn about francis price!
Character Information
Francis Price enjoys vying for the hearts of beautiful women. This is his most fundamental quality. Though he would describe himself as an eager student and contented business leader (as he is being considered for a couple management positions for post-graduation), Francis is truthfully a romantic, and he behaves this way in person. His major at Redwood College is business, but he is strongly considering changing it to physics. He has taken classes in both and would rather graduate with the major he gains the most comfort from.
At nineteen years old, amiable Francis is a friend to whoever speaks with him. Whether he’s meeting with an economics professor or telling his fellow students what his most recent crush is, Francis enjoys connecting with fellow humans. This means that his assignments often take a back seat. Many a morning Francis has spent slapping words on paper in order to complete an essay or project. People are often jealous of both Francis’s privilege and Francis’s ability to succeed without trying. His privilege is one thing, but Francis is quick to explain that he genuinely loves his studies—he just doesn’t operate the same way as the average Redwood College student and can’t devote hours to something he would rather see lived out in his own world. He suspects he may have ADD. Though Francis may get along with most everyone, his rivals are the mysterious men in many of his female friends’ lives who hurt their feelings and leave Francis to pick up the pieces. He despises thoughtlessness.
Francis once fell in love with a lovely girl who sang enchantingly. This fellow thirteen-year-old, Sofia Bạch, was the love of Francis’s life…or so he thought at the time. Sofia moved away, and Francis has been searching for her via social media and fellow connections ever since. He’s fallen in love since that connection at thirteen, yet some part of him longs for the easy conversations with and inner beauty of the girl he once admired. He also likes people who are passionate about their friends, as well as people with the same romantic streak he has. Francis uses the pronouns he/him/they and wants his friends and new acquaintances to refer to him using the pronouns they like best, either he or they. Internally, he calls himself “he.”
Wanted Connections
a new spark—Francis desires a bond with every new woman he meets. If your character identifies as a woman, she may find herself in conversation with a band of students that Francis belongs to. Francis would love to get to know your character better in whatever situation she prefers.
an old spark—Francis has known quite a few wonderful women over the years. (Would you believe he’s never been in a relationship?) If your character knew Francis in high school or when he first entered Redwood College, he would want to reconnect sometime. Give Francis a text or call.
a good friend—Francis’s friends are worth more than gold to him. If your character evaluates Francis and finds a part of him that could use help or attention, he would value their views greatly and would love to spend time with your character.
Wanted Plots
school scuffle—Francis has ideas for the group project that was just assigned, but your character disagrees in a major way. Francis tries to explain his point of view, but your character sees that as immature when he already knows you’re not happy with the project. Francis and your character have a meeting one-on-one to figure the misunderstanding out.
business partner—Francis’s father, the powerful CEO of Regalia Bernard Price, is pressuring his son to open his own consulting firm in Redwood Hollow to gain experience for his future career. Francis may do this; but if your character is business-minded like the Price family is, Francis and your character could open something different.
animal lover—Francis has never had a pet, as much as he’s always wanted a chinchilla named Oracle. Your character is an experienced animal lover and tells Francis the insider secrets of owning an animal like theirs. Francis asks to come over to your place and get to know the animal in question. Your character can agree or just bring the animal to Francis.
Taken Connections
first love—Francis’s first crush and “the one that got away” is Sofia Bạch. He remembers how genuine and thoughtful Sofia always was with him, and he is always thinking of ways to reconnect with her.
doesn’t like me—Francis can think of one person who would never, ever want him near her: Guinevere Bạch, or his former friend Sofia’s stepmother. Guinevere acted cold when Francis was warm; that’s why Francis knows she would hate meeting him now that he’s grown. If she would willingly drive him away from Sofia’s house like that, she would despise the type of person he’s become: a man who always offers to come to you, not the other way around. Guinevere would tell Francis exactly what she thought of him if they met again, he’s positive.
Other
Wanted Character: Eric Parker—This dream-oriented young man would get on with Francis. I would love for Eric to encourage Francis in his own dreams, as far from the world of business as they might end up being.
Wanted Bio: Asha—Of all the Disney women, Asha stands out as a person who would change Francis for the greater good. Her strong ideals and dogged perseverance would greatly complement Francis’s willingness to support any woman’s beliefs however he can.
