#Metalsmith, yes, but by day I am a 9-5 health care provider. At work and in the studio, I am no stranger to PPE. I wear a respirator mask in the studio to protect me from harmful solvents, polishing compounds and metal dust particles. At work I wear this handcrafted mask created by a coworker @lemontreemg who so graciously made a ton of these mask for us at work. My advice from a artist, keep on creating and protect yourself, from a health care provider, keep on helping others and protect your patients and elderly family. THIS IS A MUST PEOPLE. 》UPDATE ON HAPPENINGS《 Soooo, i had my one month ortho checkup. Annnnd, ive graduated from 1 lb to 3 lbs. I know, kind of daunting for a torch weilding hammer using kinda gal. Traveling back in time to the first "real" piece i ever made, 2015. I remember that day as if it were yesterday. There was a guy who i didn't know named David. @thecabochoncowboy. Well, he told me that i had great talent and would love to promote me. I was Giddy, and cried to myself that someone actually looked at my humbleness. How does the saying go? "You cant keep an old Crone down" 😉 surgery was pronounced "a success" yet seemed to be a bit more than was expected though, instead of the planned, ulnar release, he had to re-route the nerve. I'll tell ya, i can't do simple, ever. It's always been go big or go home, this is how the universe plotted to teach me patience. I guess that now is the time to share some info with you guys. For the past couple of months I have been struggling with my jewelry making. My left pinky finger (which is my dominant hand in the studio) has been tingling. When I began to lose my fine motor skills I visited my doctor. She then sent me to the orthotic doctor. It seems that I have ulnar nerve entrapment, Cubical tunnel syndrome. The cause was due to a break in my arm near the elbow around the age of 10 when I fell out of a tree. Apparently the break did not heal properly and over the years I have developed osteoarthritis in my elbow joint, mind you I have had no signs or symptoms.Because of this a bone spur has developed which has caused my ulnar nerve to be pinched off from its normal route. The cure, surgery. I will not let this defeat me as I have been moving forward to stocking and launching my new website, It will however take a chunk of time for recovery and physical therapy. I could not imagine a life without making jewelry, so onward I go to add a new chapter in my book of life. Lesson, obstacles are only placed in existence to add richness to your life’s history. I mean really, what book have you ever read where the damsel was not in distress. Love you all and I’ll be back soon.
