Can Marijuana Help Treat Crohn's Disease?
While cannabis may seem like a miracle drug that can treat a myriad of health conditions from migraines to cancer, the plant canât be used to treat everything. So, you may be asking whether or not cannabis is an option for you. If you live in one of the 33 states that have legalized medical marijuana, youâre able to ask your doctor about using it. And if you have Crohnâs disease, the answer to whether cannabis may help will almost certainly be yes.
CBD for Crohnâs disease
Crohnâs patients will likely always find it helpful to use both CBD and THC. âThe gastrointestinal system contains a vast quantity of receptors that are acted upon by THC and CBD,â Park says, noting that both cannabinoids have been shown scientifically to help decrease Crohnâs symptoms. Parian says her patients usually find that a high CBD, low THC mix works best for them. That said, each person will respond to a different ratio and a different dose, so you may mind that your ratio is slightly different.
Ultimately, you canât truly start to figure out whatâs best for you until you reach out to your doctor. So bite the bullet and make an appointmentâonce you get the conversation going, youâll be on your way to getting a medical marijuana card and soothing your symptoms. And when youâre ready, you can shop MedMen for all your needs.

Can CBD Really Help With Anxiety?
Thereâs been lots of talk (and increasing evidence to support it) about how cannabis can be a helpful tool in treating anxiety, depending on the dosage and timing. But CBD, the non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound found within cannabis itself, is also getting quite the reputation for soothing anxiousness. From gummies to oils, plenty of CBD-based products claim to be a solution for your nerves. But is CBDreallythe anxiety panacea that it seems to be?
Using CBD for Treating Anxiety
Michele Ross, Ph.D., a neuroscientist based in Los Angeles, says that we know there are components of CBD that theoretically give it a relaxing quality that can aid in quelling anxiety. The scientific research on CBDâs effects still needs more work, but Dr. Ross says CBD is thought to bind to serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the brain that impacts mood and anxiety. CBD, she explains, binds to a serotonin receptor called the 5-HT1A and activates that receptor in order to add to the availability of serotonin in the brain to make you feel goodâand not nervous or panicky. Plus, she says, thereâs some evidence to suggest that CBD also works by activating GABA-A receptors, chemical messengers which are thought to have a calming, relaxing effect on the brain. âPhysiologically, we know that CBD should work [for anxiety], we just havenât really seen this play out in terms of clinical trials,â Dr. Ross says.
According to a 2019 study published in the journal Pain, CBDâs effects on 5-HT1A transmission in rats helped to lessen âanxiety-like behavior.â As far as humans go, a 2015 analysis that reviewed 49 existing studies found that CBD could be a way to reduce anxiety, panic disorder, and maybe even post-traumatic stress. And a 2011 study looking at people with public speaking anxiety and found that CBD could soothe their fears. The problem with that study, however, is that the participants were given 600-milligram doses of CBD, which Dr. Ross says isnât as likely to happen for the average person who buys CBD gummies hoping to aid their anxiety.
âStudies of humans looking at the effects of CBD have rarely been all that great,â she says. âSo there is clinical evidence that really high doses of CBD help reduce specific forms of anxiety, like social anxiety, but those arenât the kind of products that are on the marketâno oneâs taking really 600 milligrams of CBD at a time, that could be a really excessive pill.â Instead, youâre more likely to find products that typically have lower doses, like 150 milligrams of CBD. âThe reason why some of these studies that have looked at CBD have used such high dosages is that theyâre just using CBD by itself, and they have to use a high amount for it to be absorbed by the body,â Dr. Ross says. âSo itâs sort of hard to extrapolate from a study with 600 milligrams by itself to being like, âam I going to take a 5 milligram gummy and have it make me feel good?â
So, in that sense, the evidence that we have is more anecdotal than anything when you buy, say, a CBD latte at a cafe, the CBD content has likely been diluted, and any effects of the compound will, therefore, be reduced. âNo one has really tested these kinds of things, such as whether CBD helps with anxiety if youâre just taking 5-10 milligrams of a CBD tincture thatâs [added] with some other terpenes that make it more available for sale,â Dr. Ross says. Not to mention, anxiety is extremely complex. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety disorders are the most common mental health issue in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults.
Not only are there different forms of anxiety, like social anxiety, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety, people can experience anxiety in different ways. Even if CBD was clinically proven to relieve anxiety, it may not be an effective treatment for everyone.
Regardless, if youâre experiencing a major anxiety disorder, CBD shouldnât be the only treatment youâre turning to â talk to a doctor who can advise you on taking medication, or seeing a therapist.
That said, if youâre interested in experimenting with CBD along with other anxiety treatments, Dr. Ross recommends getting products that come from a dispensary, because theyâre more likely to have been lab-tested. She also advises starting with a lower dose, which can help you figure out how much CBD works for you. But in the end, she says, managing anxiety is a bit like managing chronic pain: You have to manage your expectations over a long period of time and remember that treatment is a marathon, not a race.
Find the best topicals and edibles to help you with your anxiety.

Suffer from Sensitive Skin? Try CBD
More often than not, a beauty routine requires a lot of trial and error before it can reach perfection, and thatâs especially true when it comes to skincare. Trying to find the most effective cleansers, serums, and moisturizers can be akin to searching for buried treasure. And for those with particularly sensitive skin, finding the right products at your nearest cannabis dispensary. Thatâs where CBD canâand should!âstep in.
Using CBD for Effective Skin Care
Sensitive skin is essentially a blanket term for all sorts of skin conditions, including rosacea, eczema, contact dermatitis, acne, and dryness. Since cannabidiolâcommonly referred to as CBDâis known to alleviate inflammation (which comes to life via rashes, redness, and irritation), it can be a beneficial ingredient for sensitive skin types. Studies have also shown CBD to regulate sebum production, which is good news for dry skin-sufferers, who produce less sebum than people who donât have any problems with dry skin.
But is topical CBD the best solution for sensitive skin, or is there another format thatâs more effective? âTopical is definitely the best, but everything you take internally is reflected relatively quickly in the skin,â says Dr. Jeanette Jacknin, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in San Diego. So, based on that, using a topical ointment alongside a capsule or tincture certainly wouldnât hurt. Dr. Jacknin is also a proponent of full-spectrum CBD, due to the possibility of added benefits through synergistic combination. âFull spectrum doesnât mean it has THC; it just means it has the other cannabinoids and terpenes. People refer to whatâs known as the Entourage Effect, where one [cannabinoid or terpene] helps the other,â she says. âSo, I personally prefer full-spectrum.â
There are, of course, plenty of dermatologist-recommended skincare products for sensitive skin readily available. If you already have a go-to moisturizer or some other topical and are curious about bringing CBD into the loop, itâs certainly worth some experimentation. As for application tips, Dr. Jacknin suggests adding one drop of CBD oil to your regular formula and applying it to your hand, that way you can see how your skin will respond before applying it in more visible areas, like your face. âI wouldnât start with more than 5 mL,â she advises. âStart small, with one drop, and then you can add another, and another,â she says. Slow and steady wins the race.
Ultimately, Dr. Jacknin says to always pay attention to how your skin reacts to any ingredient, and to also keep in mind that just because something is ânatural,â it doesnât mean that youâre entirely safe. âMake sure youâre not sensitive to whatever the carrier [oil] is for the CBD you select, whether itâs emu oil, coconut oil, or something else. A lot of people are sensitive to natural essential oils or herbs,â Dr. Jacknin explains. The main takeaway when it comes to CBDâs potential as a savior for sensitive skin: âEverybody is different,â she says. âYou may react differently than somebody else.â

If youâre lucky enough to be one of the Arizonians that have a medical marijuana card, you also have the added benefit of visiting one of three  Cannabis dispensaries in Tempe Airport  or central Scottsdale, near Scottsdale airport, or by the Tempe Airport. Ahead, the ultimate rundown of things to do in Arizonaâplaces to stay, eat, see, and more.
Arizona Vacations
The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort in Scottsdale Looking for Arizonaâs ultimate relaxation sanctuary? This 250-acre resort features stunning views of Camelback Mountain. As part of a three-year renovation, the 60-room hotel built a 4,600 square foot fitness center, redesigned its pool area, and added a three-level spa with two dozen treatment rooms. Enjoy a relaxing facial or body treatment of your choice.
CIVANA If wellness and self improvement are your goals on this trip, consider staying at CIVANA. Thereâs also a 22,000-square-foot spa and a restaurant that has a creative and healthy menu led by the renowned Chef Justin Macy.
Tratto Speaking of food, are your munchies giving you a craving for Italian? At Tratto, all the pasta is made in-house, so youâre guaranteed to dig into fresh, authentic flavor no matter what you getâbut the cacio e pepe is a known crowd-pleaser.

Make sure to order the rajas gorditas, a star dish made with soft, pillowy pockets of tortilla, flavorful beans, and rajas, which are poblano chile strips with cheese. Drooling.

The Cannabis-Free Guide to West Palm Beach
West Palm Beach occupies a unique space in the Sunshine State: The South Florida beach town feels slightly removed from, and a little sleepier than, itâs not-too-distant cousin Miami. But the drive (or train ride, on the recently opened, comfortable Brightline line) is worth it to get away and feel sublimely unhurried while taking in the historic decadence of the city. Of course, it doesnât hurt to have a little cannabis on hand to take in the blue-hued vistas for those with medicinal cards, thanks to Floridaâs booming medical-marijuana business and marijuana dispensary in west palm beach.
Here are five spots to take shelter and indulge in Floridian deliciousness in West Palm and neighboring Palm Beach.
The Breakers Palm Beach Even if you donât actually stay at this historic and absurdly beautiful luxury hotelâand if youâre feeling flush with cash, you really canât do betterâyouâd be woefully missing out if you donât at least take a peek into its elaborate environs. Housed in an Italian Renaissanceâstyle structure dating back to 1896, The Breakers has plenty that delights beyond its well-appointed rooms. The east-facing Seafood Barâs large windows provide drop-dead views of the Atlantic Ocean, along with an elegant nautical atmosphere and fresh seafood. Adjoining the lobby, HMF offers a boisterous cocktail scene, and The Circle turns out breakfast within an architectural marvel of a room.
The Chesterfield Palm Beach When the ultra-high-end amenities of The Breakers feel out of reach, itâs hard to beat the value of The Chesterfield also in Palm Beach, where rooms run around $390a night. The hotel is in a smart-looking, white-hued landmark building with European-style rooms that donât lack for idiosyncratic charm, plus a tranquil pool area. Plus, the hotel is ideally located on the Palm Beach island just next to West Palm.
Flagler Steakhouse Flagler Steakhouse is technically part of The Breakers Palm Beach, but the casual observer could easily miss it. Located in a separate, nearby building, the luxe restaurant elevates the familiar chophouse genre with old-school South Florida charm. Slip into a comfy rounded chair in the wooded space patriotically decorated in red, blue, and white, and dig into savvily executed classics like a wedge salad, well-crusted ribeye steak, and fries coated in parmesan. But donât make the mistake of skipping standout seafood dishes while in this island gem, including locally sourced oysters and seared snapper.
Henry Morrison Flagler Museum West Palm Beach and Palm Beach are Flagler country. The developer was a key figure in the rapid growth of the South Florida region in the late 19th century and early 20th century. He lived in the opulent, 55-room Whitehall estate in Palm Beach, which easily outdoes lavish older manses in Northeastern and European cities. Whitehall now serves as the public Flagler Museum, which features guided tours, exhibitions, and, most importantly, a window into what it was like to retreat to the Sunshine State in winter as a tycoon in a bygone age.
Intracoastal Waterway Palm Beach should, ultimately, be enjoyed by spending as much time on the water as possible. The divider between the island and the rest of Florida is the Intracoastal Waterway, a 3,000-mile canal and wonder of engineering running along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Visit one of the marinas to charter your own boat, or join one of the many larger boating excursions in order to take in the areaâs most breathtaking natural sights along with the always balmy weather.

The Ultimate Vegas Shopping Guide
Las Vegas might be best-known craps tables and slot machines, but gambling isnât the only draw here. Sin City can be quite the shopping destination, if you know where to go. From sprawling malls full of top designer labels to some of the quirkiest vintage stores you can find anywhere, you could easily spend a couple days just shopping in the city. Of course, the best place to shop cannabis in Las Vegas is Cannabis dispensary Las Vegas, but hereâs a quick primer on where to go for some some additional retail therapy during your visit.
The Forum Shops at Caesars
Perhaps one of the most instagrammable and iconic shopping spots in all of Las Vegas is The Forum Shops at Caesars, nestled in the sprawling, suitably over-the-top Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Opulent Roman columns and statues serve as the splashy setting for a wide variety of stores, which range from Allsaints to Balenciaga to Gap to Chanel, so thereâs something for just about everyone, even those who would rather just browse than buy.
Barneys New York
For edgy luxury fare, look no further than this perennially cool New York City import. The curated fashion mecca has full selections for both men and women, plus a host of beauty items, home goods, and clothing for children. Itâs also one of the best places in Las Vegas to find quality beauty productsâââBarneys is one of the few Vegas retailers to stock brands such as Moon Juice, La Mer and Bobbi Brown.
Rockin Bettie
For vintage lovers with a penchant for all things Americana and a particular soft spot for the â50s, Rockin Bettie does not disappoint. Located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, this shop offers everything from fluffy prom dresses to skinny, retro style trousers. Rockin Bettie keeps its focus tight, specializing in threads with a pin-up, rockabilly aesthetic. Even if thatâs not your vibe, itâs still a fun place to visit, whether youâre looking for some unconventional style inspiration or youâre simply in it for the entertainment value.
Grand Bazaar Shops
If youâre looking for a Vegas shopping destination that has more of a market feel, Grand Bazaar Shops is worth a visit. Check out a collection of restaurants (Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken is a must), beauty retailers, and affordable fashion spots (Alex and Ani or Havaianas have some cute stuff). The mix of shops and 15+ different restaurants means itâs the perfect place to wander and snack.
The Shops at Crystals
For a taste of some of the most luxurious shopping Vegas has to offer, head to The Shops at Crystals, a rarefied retail destination filled with names like Celine, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. But thatâs just the tip of the icebergâââthis posh mall has almost every high-end designer you can imagine. Also, donât miss the visual art on display, which is equally as stunning as the designer goods. James Turrell has had installations there, and most of the shops feature individual works you can peruse.
Fruition LV
Specializing in a cool streetwear aesthetic, Fruition LV is one of the most unique stores in Vegas. The independent boutique stocks an eclectic range of clothing, from campy Jeep logo tees to vintage Louis Vuitton and Dior. Chanel, Nike, and vintage tie-dye tees come together improbably at this unique anything-goes experience.
Charleston Antique Mall
Looking for a different kind of shopping experience? Head to the Charleston Antique Mall, where you can find affordably priced mid-century modern lamps and more home decor gems that vary in style and periodâââthereâs even the occasional vintage coat or high-end second-hand treasure to be found in the mix. If youâre in the mood to do a little digging, this is your best bet.

How to Do San Diego Right
San Diego is Californiaâs second biggest city, following L.A., and the SoCal metropolis is filled with sunny beaches, historical landmarks, unique shops, and enough tasty cuisine to satisfy any seasoned gourmandâs palate. After you drop by MedMenâs location in San Diego to pick up your favorite cannabis supplies at Cannabis dispensary Kearney Mesa, let yourself fully explore all of the cityâs irresistible charms, tucked away in neighborhoods like North Park, Little Italy, and Hillcrest. Hereâs where to stay, eat, and explore in beautiful San Diego.
SAN DIEGO VACATION GUIDE
Where to stay
U.S. Grant As you might be able to tell from its name, the U.S. Grant has a rich political history. Built by the son of president Ulysses S. Grant, this 270-room hotel opened its doors in 1910, becoming a destination for presidents, businessmen, and even Albert Einstein. During Prohibition, its Bivouac Grill (now known as the Celestial Ballroom) was converted into a speakeasy called The Plata Real Nightclub. Today, you can grab a seat at the Rendezvous, a vintage French cocktail bar, and invoke the spirit of a 1930s reveler.
Hotel del Coronado The Hotel del Coronado, located across the bay from downtown San Diego on Coronado Island, is another hotel with a history-filled, interesting past. Built in 1888, it has played host to many stars from the silver screen, including Bette Davis, Judy Garland, and Lana Turner. It was also the backdrop for Some Like It Hot, starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. If youâre the ghost-hunting type, dare yourself to stay in the rooms 3327 or 3519, both of which are rumored to be haunted. Prefer to steer clear of potential spirits? Enjoy one of the ocean view villas and book a spa treatment before enjoying a casual dinner at ENO, the hotelâs artisan pizzeria.
Lafayette Hotel and Swim Club If youâre in the mood to party, book a room at the The Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows. Famous for its Weissmuller Olympic Pool, the hotel is the perfect destination for a rambunctious getaway with friends. While thereâs not much in terms of onsite dining, the Lafayette is located in North Park, a hip neighborhood with tons of restaurants to choose from. Your munchies will be no match for the culinary gems youâll find.
Hotel Indigo Those who appreciate more of a modern vibe will enjoy the spacious Hotel Indigo, with its stunning city views and spa-inspired showers. Itâs also LEED Certified, which means the hotel is committed to sustainability and green living. Want to bring your dog on vacation? Hotel Indigo is pet-friendly, and will even share intel on restaurants in the city where you can dine with your pup. What could be better than that?
Cosmopolitan Hotel Want to go really old-school? Reserve a room at the Cosmopolitan, which was first built way back in 1827 as an adobe home. Now, itâs a bed and breakfast with Victorian-style bedrooms complete with antique decor. For a truly vintage experience, the hotel has no electronics in the rooms, though youâll still be able to get your WiFi fix. Make sure to save time in your schedule to experience the hotelâs afternoon tea serviceâperhaps youâll want bring along a CBD tincture for added relaxation.
Where to eat:
Barbusa Little Italy is, obviously, the San Diego neighborhood for life-changing experiences with Italian cuisine. Barbusa leans toward modern Sicilian-style fare, offering up plenty of pastas, pizzas, and seafood dishes. The best way to do Barbusa? Split a joint with friends, then head over to share several of its impressive dishes, including the Bolognese Al Forno. It is to die for.
Ortizâs Taco Shop If you go to San Diego and donât eat a California burrito or asada fries, did you really go to San Diego at all? The city is known as the birthplace of these two dishes, and itâs arguably one of the best, if not the best, place for Mexican food in the entire state of California. You canât beat Ortizâs when it comes to the Cali burrito in particularâcontaining carne asada, French fries (which brilliantly sub in for rice), cheese, and sour cream all wrapped up in a monster-sized tortilla, this big boy was voted #8 best burrito in the entire country. Granted, San Diego residents might argue that it should have placed higher on the list.
Soda and Swine This cute, casual spot has two locationsâin North Park and Liberty Stationâand is great for happy hour or grabbing a quick bite before your next destination. It specializes in a build-your-own meatball dish, carby sides like fried pizza knots and âdirty friesâ (smothered in meatballs, bacon, mushroom sauce, peppers, and parmesan), and tasty sodas that can easily be turned into a float for dessert.
Trust Brunch aficionados should put their trust in Trust, an eatery in the Hillcrest area serving up âurban rustic food.â Weekends can be crowded, so make a reservation or get there early. You wonât want to miss their famous âultimate sticky bun,â which is freshly made each day and in limited quantity. Hot tip: Like Chrissy Teigen, Trust believes in chicken and pancakes instead of chicken and waffles.
Kindred When it comes to San Diegoâs vegan food options, Kindred, a cocktail bar in South Park, takes the cake, especially if you like a little heavy metal ambience with your meal. Vegan-friendly spins on traditionally carnivore fare like Memphis BBQ, âfishâ tacos, and even a poâboy will delight non-meat eaters and meat eaters alike. Donât forget to ask about the secret menu.
Plus: A San Diego must-see
Balboa Park Spread over 1,200 sprawling acres, Balboa Park is the biggest cultural park in the country (itâs even bigger than Central Park!) and boasts 16 museums, gardens, trails, and so much more. Itâs a classic San Diego spot that cannot be missed. The park is also home to the famous San Diego Zoo; needless to say, youâll likely be spending your entire day here.

How Weed Enhances Creativity
Creatives come in all shapes and sizes, but there is certainly one universal feeling and struggle that crosses every artistâs path numerous times throughout their career: the loss of inspiration, mental block, and seemingly impossible quest to finish without an air of self-doubt. Itâs what happens when you assume your creativity has run out. Spoiler alert: thatâs not something that can actually happen.
Cannabis and Creativity
Whether you are a writer, painter, animator, storyteller, director, designer, or any of the countless other types of creatives that bring new ideas into the world in their own unique way, artistic expression is a product of a creative spark that is simultaneously indefinable and uncontrollable.
But letâs be clear: we arenât diving into the opinion-filled discussion of what actually constitutes creativity; we are here to talk about one of the tools that can, in fact, boost your creative prowessâcannabis.
The process of creation and the entire concept of creativity is actually quite tricky to define. How are we to actually capture and measure creativity? What are the parameters? Itâs a highly unique, personal, and intangible concept. But one thing we can agree upon is the way in which cannabis can push the creative senses in a multitude of ways.
Maybe youâve experienced it yourself. Youâre smoking your favorite  marijuana strain and suddenly it hits you: the ideas that flow in, images that take shape, words that flow on the page after a particular strain comes your way. Cannabisâ ability to enhance creativity is touted across products, but itâs also a highly individualized experience. Thereâs no promise that an edible here or a vape pen there will grant you the power of creative genius, but the science of it all certainly makes for a strong case.
Effects of Weed to Boost Creativity
Letâs get to the science first. Just like many of the other effects of cannabis, it all comes down to the interaction thatâs occurring in the brain. When THC makes its way to the brain, it binds to cannabinoid receptors and causes changes in the levels of neurotransmitters, particularly those of dopamine and norepinephrine; itâs this type of interaction that leads to a boost in mood, reduced anxiety, relaxed mindsets, and so forth. More importantly, however, is weedâs power to shift your perceptions, enhance introspection and senses, and, of course, creativity.
But whatâs really going on beyond those neurotransmitters? Letâs take a step back and look at the classified forms of the creative process. Weâve got divergent thinking and convergent thinking. Both divergent and convergent thinking are imperative for creative thinking, but their end results differ. Whereas divergent thinking is a process that yields numerous solutions to a somewhat broad problemâmuch like brainstormingâconvergent thinking is when you seek out and find the sole solution to a well-defined problem.
Divergent thinking is the sweet spot for creative thinkersâitâs what makes creatives creative. Itâs when those crazy concepts populate your mind and possibilities seem endless; when the world looks different; when the unexpected arises; and itâs the type of thinking that gets a boost whilst under the influence of cannabis. Divergent thinking blooms when dopamine levels are high and, as we pointed out earlier, THC is the cannabis component that has been shown to increase dopamine in the brain.
The increase in dopamine brings forth a feeling of euphoria that has the ability to turn off your usual hesitations and blockages in terms of thinking and creating. If writerâs block is stressing you out or the sight of a paintbrush makes you frustrated about the next project, a little boost in dopamine might be the trick to get you back in it. Think about it: the happier you are, the easier it is to turn off those negative thoughts of self-doubt that plague every artist. Itâs a freeing form of creation. Makes sense, right?
Studies have also shown that one of the wonders of weed is its ability to increase your ability to form connections between seemingly unrelated concepts, topics, and moments. Also known as hyper-priming, this ability to form connections is what leads many creatives to their breakthrough moments of ideation and inspiration. One minute you can be sitting on your couch watching an episode of television and suddenly the image on the screen prompts a self-reflective truth or concept that had never occurred to you before.
It is important to note, however, that not all strains are created equal when it comes to creative power. Itâs actually a fairly flexible scale for individualsâsome may prefer a hybrid while others might go for a sativa or indica. It depends on what may be blocking your source of creativity.
Too tired to sit down and bang out another few pages of your novel? A sativa strain seems like the answer for you to give your imagination a boost of power that will keep you motivated and inspired.
For those creatives who perhaps need to wind down a bit before tapping into their process, an indica strain is a good move. Whether itâs the effects of a stressful day, a bout of anxiety, an injury that wonât go away, or the looming thoughts surrounding the endless to-do list, indica works to relax and bypass the daily forces that may inhibit the focus and fun behind creation.
From indica, sativa, and hybrids to vapes, edibles, and pre-rolls, thereâs a whole lot to explore when it comes to cannabis and creativity. And hereâs the great news: at MedMen, we have countless products that can ignite your creative spark, open up your imagination, and tap into the meditative state of dreaming up stories, images, and ideas like never before.
So whether youâre trying to beat your artistic block or simply want to try a new way of creating, head on over to nearest cannabis store. Your next artistic idea is waiting.

How To Pair Cannabis With Your Favorite Form Of Self-Care
Spending a Friday night at home with your vape, favorite snacks, and a Lush bath bomb sounds about as good as it could getâââthe only thing that could get in the way of your downtime is having to choose from the array of options at your fingertips. Sure, there are a plethora of snacks and bath bombs out there to consider, but weâre talking about the wide variety of cannabis strains and products that could possibly accompany your preferred form of self-care. Whether you like to wind down with a trip to the nail salon, a comfy cat nap, or a full cryotherapy session, thereâs a cannabis product that pairs perfectly with your go-to R&R move. Thomas Winstanley, Director of Marketing at Massachusetts-based cannabis brand Theory Wellness, shared his recommendations for adding cannabis to your favorite self-care activity.
The Ultimate Guide to Self-Care with Cannabis
Meditation If youâre settling into a state of deep reflection and thought, youâre going to want a strain that will âprovide deep focus and bring a bit of uplift without feeling too racy,â like Banana Split or Jilly Bean, Winstanley says.
Massage Thanks to the wide variety of topical, CBD-infused products on the market now, integrating cannabis into your next massage has never been easier. Winstanley suggests dabbling with a CBD-addled oil for your next rubdown. (Theory makes its own version; a budtender at your local MedMen can also guide you toward some CBD oils well-suited for a tension-taming, knot-untangling session.) âMany users find relief and feel a tingling or a gradual lightening of their symptoms within 30 minutes,â he says.
Bubble Bath Winstanley notes that a soothing bubble bath can be deeply relaxing, both physically and mentally, which leads him to recommend a hybrid strain, such as Wedding Cake, for your next long soak. He says users can expect âcalm, euphoric, and slightly sedative effectsâ from this strain, adding that âit will help you wind down without putting you down completely.â
Nap If âself-careâ to you means simply catching up on your beauty rest, your choice is clear. âWeâd definitely lean toward the indica side of things,â Winstanley says, pointing to Purple Punch, with its fruity taste and heavy indica profile, as the perfect pre-nap strain. âJust make sure you have enough time to wake up afterward before moving on with your day,â he adds.
Mani-Pedi If youâre taking the most luxurious route possible with your mani-pedi, youâre more than likely going to a salon for an appointment with a nail technicianâââmeaning youâll be in public, so youâll âdefinitely want to be discrete and find a product thatâs going to keep you enlivened and social,â Winstanley says. His pick is vaping Blue Dream or Black Raspberry, either of which will âhelp you relax and enjoy yourself without leaving you disengaged.â
Sound Bath When looking for the right cannabis strain to elevate a sound bath, which requires you to lay quietly and allow yourself to be immersed in (usually live) sounds and music, you should look for one that will âbalance the physical relaxation with mental acuity,â Winstanley says. Specifically, he recommends a strain like Sunshine Daydream, either smoked or vaped.
Cryotherapy Does standing in a chamber cooled to temperatures as frigid as -220 degrees sounds pretty, well, chill? Winstanley suggests âgoing the sublingual routeâ and using a tincture or eating an edible before hopping in. âItâll be in your system longer and have a more sustained presence before, during, and after the treatment,â he says.

Where To Find Vegas' Best Culinary Imports
Thereâs no shortage of places to eat in Vegas. But a lot of it, well, can be a gamble. (Pun fully intended.) But while Vegas-founded eateries and buffets can be very, very good, sometimes you gotta pull out some big movesâââas in, hit up a restaurant that originated in another cityâŠor country, even. Looking to enhance your dining experience? Check out a cannabis store in las vegasbefore your next big meal. Ahead, a crib sheet to some of the best culinary imports to set up shop in Vegas so far.
A Foodieâs Guide to Las Vegas
Bavetteâs
A Chicago import, Bavetteâs is a take on a French steakhouse, complete with ribeyes and those oh-so-classic steakhouse sides. This carnivore-pleasing option is the Vegas debut for Brendan Sodikoff, the restaurateur behind Windy City burger-slinging hotspot Au Cheval. Bavetteâs is located at the Park MGM Hotel and opened in late 2017 with a late-night, retro feel that harkens back to the Gilded Age. Turns out, Vegas likes its steak like it likes its sinâââto order.
Carbone at Aria
If youâve been to the lauded, O.G. Carbone in NYC from Major Food Groupâs Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, you know itâs a particular kind of sceneâââitâs as if you went back in time to a bygone era of glamour, where you half expect Frank Sinatra to be chowing down at the next table (youâll likely hear him crooning on the soundtrack) and the menu is filled with amazing Italian-American favorites. Carbone in Las Vegas, located at the ARIA Resort & Casino, expands on that experience by taking some cues from the famously over-the-top city (and the space). With more tableside service than its New York counterpart, the Las Vegas location also features two private dining rooms available for booking. The menu? Well, that remains very similar in both locationsâââthankfully.
Momofuku
Located in The Cosmopolitan, David Changâs New York-based Momofuku brand got an outpost in Las Vegas in early 2017, the first on the West Coast, and serves a constantly evolving menu for lunch and dinner. For an afternoon snack or late-night eats, youâll head to their adjacent Peach Bar, where you can pick from a curated menu of favorites. PssstâŠitâs also adjacent to an outpost of Milk Bar (dessert maven Christina Tosiâs sweets-centric part of the Momofuku empire), just like the New York original.
Raoâs
You can never get a seat at Raoâs New York (unless you know the right people), but in Las Vegas, you can actually snag a table. Located within the sprawling Caesarâs Palace, Raoâs takes its cues from the original location with dark wood tables, booths, and red leather. Menus are famously absent from the original location, but thatâs not the case with the Las Vegas outpost, where youâll find all of Raoâs signature dishes, including the meatballs (theyâre huge) and veal parmesan.
Mott 32
The famed Cantonese restaurant based out of Hong Kong has made its way to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, and it is beautiful and delicious. The spot is co-led by Mott 32âs group executive chef and two-star Michelin winner Man-Sing Lee and Vegas-based head chef Alan Ji, and the signature dishes on the menu include Apple Wood Roasted Peking Duck with Mott 32âs âSignature Cut,â Iberico Pork with Soft Quail Egg and Black Truffle Siu Mai, and Crispy Triple Cooked Wagyu Beef Short Ribs. Definitely order something off the cocktail menu, which features some unique Asian-based liqueurs and garnishes, and take a gander at the dĂ©cor, designed by Joyce Wang, which gives a nod to Las Vegas with elements like a dining table made out of a vintage Roulette wheel. (Wang also designed both the Hong Kong and Vancouver Mott 32.)
Yardbird
The Vegas outpost for this soul food staple, which got its start in Miami in 2011, can be found in The Venetian and straight up shouldnât be missed. Brunch is key here, so make yourself some reservations and donât forget to order the Chicken ânâ Watermelon ânâ Waffles, one of the most beloved dishes on their menu and among the best you can get on the strip, period. Elsewhere on the menu, which is similar to other locations such as those in Singapore and Los Angeles, you can find a fried green tomato BLT, shrimp and grits, and some classic buttermilk biscuits that are just so good.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer
Also located at The Venetian, the New York-based burgers and shakes spot is the ultimate Instagram-worthy restaurant. Started by Chris Barish and head chef/partner Joe Isidori, the Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer has taken on a life of its ownâââthanks in part to their shakes. The CrazyShake milkshakes are monstrous and loaded with goodies that would make any 5-year-old (and grown adult) clap with glee. The burgers are flipped once, harkening back to the good olâ days of a true, great diner burger, and each location features regional brewers for craft beers to keep it local. Basically, itâs just a really good burger place. Thatâs the highest accolade there is, right?

7 Standout Vegas Spas With Ideal Cannabis Pairings
Las Vegas is known as Sin City for a reason. A trip to the famous Strip usually means that any efforts to practice âeverything in moderationâ quickly get thrown out the window. Whether itâs hours spent gambling, gorging at world-class buffets, or shopping lavishly, Vegas is truly a destination defined by indulgence. But if youâre looking to stay busy with activities that are far more relaxing than spending the night at the blackjack tables, Vegas also offers an impressive selection of spa experiences.
Hours spent at a luxurious spa might be one of the best ways to indulge yourself, especially if you want to do something thatâs a marked departure from the usual hedonistic Vegas activity. Even better? The right cannabis pairing can only enhance your spa stint. Quick tip: Opt for more relaxing strains, like indicas or hybrids, or products with high CBD. (Save those sativas for situations where youâll need ample energy, like hitting up the slots or finally trying the zipline on Fremont Street.)
Below, seven of the best Las Vegas spas worth booking a service (or two), with MedMen products to match.
Las Vegas Cannabis Spa Ideas
Sahra Spa & Hammam at The Cosmopolitan Walking through this 50,000 square foot spa will immediately have you feeling like youâve teleported to another time and place, thanks to a luxurious hammam treatment room, modeled after the Turkish baths. MedMen pairing: Fleur Cannabis Pre-Roll This sweet-tasting, indica dominant strain can help ease you into sleep after the relaxing hammam treatment.
The Spa and Salon at ARIA This award-winning spa features private suites, a Shio salt room, and heated Japanese stone beds that will soothe your muscles after hours walking on the strip. If you (and your wallet) can handle extreme spa experiences, you can book the $1,000 Majestic Canyon Collagen Facial, a collaboration with skincare brand Valmont Cosmetics.
MedMen pairing: Birthday Cake Bar Is there anything more indulgent than a chocolate bar? A fancy edible goes perfectly well with this luxe treatment.
The Spa at Encore A destination all its own, the Spa at Encore features 51 treatment rooms, including over two dozen garden suites that can host two people simultaneously. If the Vegas debauchery has you feeling worn out, treat yourself to a spa service that focuses on energy work, such as the Bodhi Massage and Visualization, which aims to balance the bodyâs seven Chakras.
MedMen pairing: Matrix Do-Si-Dos A few hits of this euphoric indica will help prepare you for this incredible body care treatment.
The Spa at Waldorf Astoria The Waldorf Astoria name is synonymous with truly topnotch spas, so make sure to carve out some extra time to hang out before and after your service. It features an herbal steam room, vitality pool, hammam, ice fountain, relaxation lounges, laconium (a dry sweat room), and a total of 16 treatment rooms. Book a healing jade stone massage to bring balance to your tired body, and maybe save room for Waldorf salad?
MedMen pairing: [statemade] zen Itâs all in the name, right? Hereâs the perfect strain to help you find inner peace.
Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino Three words: Arctic Ice Room. Yes, this spa has a room where you sit on a heated bench and inhale mint-infused air while âsnowâ gently falls. It also has three Roman baths set at varying temperatures, a laconium, and an entire room dedicated to Swarovski crystal body art applications so you can leave with some bling. Try the Qua Signature Mojave Rain service which begins with a sage smudging (to get rid of any bad energy) and includes a stress-relieving massage and balancing energy work.
MedMen pairing: Desert Grown Farms Dark Wizard #1 Say goodbye to stress ASAP with this mood-lifting, body-relaxing strain before your treatment.
ESPA at Vdara If youâre looking for a spa that is also green, ESPA at Vdara is your best bet. Itâs LEED Gold-certified, meaning it uses mostly organic skin care products and uses water-saving showers. Want a treatment specifically aimed at easing muscle pain from workouts? Try the Strength & Resilience Massage, which uses yogic stretches and deep muscle massage to get your body back on track.
MedMen pairing: CannaHemp Elixir CBD in Relief This CBD tincture eases aches, complementing this type of massage service perfectly.
Bellagio Spa & Salon At the Bellagioâs spa, you can choose from an array of wanderlust-themed body treatments services, ranging from Italian-themed to inspired by Polynesian healers. Other amenities include a private heated Watsu pool, steam room, cold plunge pool, and three whirlpools.
MedMen pairing: Binske Honduran Raspberry Dark Chocolate To go with the spaâs world traveler theme, this cannabis-infused chocolate contains cacao thatâs been grown in the same Honduran jungle sacred to the Mayans.

8 of the Best Things to Do in Chicago in the Summer
Everyone in the Midwest knows summer as a season is truly fleeting. Sure, Chicago has four seasons like the rest of the region, but instead of fall, winter, spring, and summer, itâs more like almost winter, definitely winter, still winter, and summer. Which only means one thingâyou gotta enjoy it while you can. So what are some of the best things to do in the Windy City come summer? Here, our tried-and-true guide.
Visitorâs Guide to Summer in Chicago
Head to Lollapalooza Yes, it can make the city feel a little crazy (donât bother trying to go downtown when this music festival is on, attending or not), but Lollapalooza is a quintessential âsummer is hereâ marking in Chicago, and you need to experience it at least once in your lifetime. If the Lollapalooza lineup isnât your thing (you can only see Tame Impala, Twenty One Pilots and The Chainsmokers so many times, letâs be honest), thereâs also the Pitchfork Music Festival, which specializes in more obscure and underground indie music (Robyn, Stereolab, Amen Dunes and Black Midi are highlights) and Spring Awakening, where you can get your EDM fix with Zedd, DJ Snake and Martin Garrix.
Walk the 606 Similar to the High Line in NYC, this 2.7-mile elevated pathway along an old rail line is an easy way to get some steps in while also seeing some of Chicagoâs best neighborhoods: Bucktown, Logan Square, and Wicker Park. Not only will you have access to some quality parks and outdoor spaces, you can also take the occasional break from the path and grab a bite (Small Cheval for burgers in Wicker Park; Irazuâs for authentic Cosa Rican cuisine in Bucktown) or a drink (Scofflaw in Logan Square is always a great pick, but if youâre looking for a uniquely Chicago experience, the nearby Go Tavern and Liquors is one of the cityâs few remaining âslashies,â the local term for a bar thatâs also a liquor store) before resuming your walk. Itâs a great way to see some of the city and enjoy the outdoors.
Hit the Beach Sorry, coastal natives and transplants, but lakefront beaches are just some of the best. And in Chicago, you have your pick of beaches to choose from. Foster Beach is a good pick for a northern option (especially because the end of the beach has a dog area), or head to North Avenue Beach (definitely the most popular of Chicago beaches), where you can spend your time at the Shore Club and reserve lounges or even a signature cabana. Oak Street Beach is also another popular option, and itâs close to downtown. Pro tip: beaches on the south side are more scenic and much less crowded. 57th Street Beach, Margaret T. Burroughs Beach, and Rainbow Beach and Park make for a relaxing day near the water.
See a Flick The Summer Film Series in Millennium Park is a must-do. Running every Tuesday from June through August, catch a free film (on a state-of-the-art, 40-foot LED screen) while the sun sets. Take a seat at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or bring a blanket (or some folding chairs) to join the masses on the Great Lawn. Outdoor screenings not your thing? Chicago is home to some incredible cinemas, most notably the Music Box Theatre, located in the beautiful Lakeview neighborhood and smack dab in the middle of the Southport corridor. This summer, the Music Box hosts a retrospective of films directed by the late, great John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood).
See a Game You canât be in Chicago in the summer and not catch a baseball game. Itâs basically sacrilegious. Whether youâre on the south side for the White Sox or on the north side for the Cubs, make sure to snag some primo seats and grab a hotdog or five while youâre at it. (Just make sure not to put any ketchup on it, unless you want to out yourself as a tourist and face ridicule from the locals during the game.)
Imbibe on a Rooftop Itâs summertime, and the living is easy. Especially when you can have a great cocktail on a gorgeous rooftop high above the city. Popular options include Cindyâs (perched above the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, with views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan), Waydown (above the Ace Hotel in the buzzy West Loop, usually with DJs), and the NYC-born Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club (yes, of course thereâs a shuffleboard on the roof, too). But there are plenty more rooftops where those come fromâask a local for even more recommendations.
Or Imbibe at a Beer Festival Looking for some craft brews? Chicago boasts a myriad of beer bars and breweries, and in the summer, you can find them at any number of the cityâs popular street festivals, many of which are totally beer-centric. Ravenswood on Tap, named after the classic north side neighborhood where it takes place, has become one of the permiere beer events in Chicago in just three short years; meanwhile, in Oak Park, the Microbrew Review is twelve years strong. (Bonus: Oak Park is the location of MedMenâs Illinois store.) Thereâs also the Chicago Ale Fest, which features 150 craft beers, live music, and more. (PssstâŠthey also do a fest in the winter, too.)
Get on a Boat Last, but by no means least, is the The Chicago Architecture Boat Tour, a must for local and out-of-towners alike. Downtown Chicago features some of the countryâs most stunning and unique architecture, and youâre guaranteed to see the city in a new light as you cruise along the river. Beyond just the tour, getting out on Lake Michigan in the summer is a must. You can have dinner on the Spirit of Chicago; charter a sailboat; rent kayaks; and, of course, thereâs always the infamous booze cruise. The lake is your oyster.
MedMen has a medical dispensary in Oak Park.
