Leading the way from the set, Kristina couldn’t help but smile. “I can relate to that, it sometimes feels like we spent weeks sitting in front of a revolving door for students who are panicking because they haven’t done the work up until the deadline,” she chuckled, knowing that to be true for a large percentage of the student body.  “But your apartment sounds delightful, mines a dump anyway, I haven’t cleaned in over a week,” Kristina shrugged, leading the way to the takeout.

No more than an hour later and Kristina was standing in front of Freya’s front door, holding their small collection of food whilst the other opened it. “Don’t you just love it when you run into students out and about? It’s like their amazed to know you actually exist outside of campus,” she chuckled, recalling their run-in at the takeout.

“i know! you’d think with a campus like this, they’d know just how active we can be.” freya snorted as she tugged the key out of the lock, twisting the handle and pushing the door open to reveal her apartment. she dropped the keys onto a small end table by the door and made her way to the kitchen, calling over her shoulder, “make yourself at home. if you could just spread the food on the coffee table, i’ll grab some napkins and extra plates.”

emerging a few minutes later without napkins or plates, she smiled somewhat sheepishly and raised the wine glasses in her hands, the bottle tucked under her other arm. “so i know i said i was getting utensils but drinking wine and eating with your hands sounds way more fun, right?”

freya hated office hours. she’d promised her students that she would spend an extra couple of hours in her office this week, as she was going to be taking care of an art exhibit this weekend and wouldn’t be able to hold her normal hours then. unfortunately, that meant that she was stuck in there on the off chance one of her students actually showed up. she’d only gotten one email, asking if a student could come in between 3 and 5 pm to discuss the most recent additions to her portfolio. it was half past four when a knock on her office door snapped her out off her idle swiping through her phone’s photos. Pushing her seat back from her desk, she swiveled it to face the door.

“It’s not exactly every morning that you get asked to model for something… Well, that’s not true if you’re okay putting up with a photography student who doesn’t quite know what they are doing, then theirs plenty of ad’s around campus,” Kristina chuckled, pulling her jacket over her shoulders after having put her shoes back on. 

“Luckily for you, I don’t exactly have expensive tastes. Theirs a great Chinese place around the corner? They do the food in those little box things that all Americans seem to love so much?” Kristina asked, a teasing tone in her voice that showed she meant no disrespect.

“with talent like your’s that’s surprising.” freya grinned over her shoulder, partly teasing, partly serious. zipping up the last of her lens cases, she turned back to kristina. “oh, it’s been a while since i’ve been there actually. i’ve been stuck in my office helping students the past couple weeks, it feels like ages since i’ve gotten good old fashioned takeout. lead the way.” she gestured with her arms for her friend to take the lead. “if you’d like we can head back to my apartment to eat. we could probably both use a break, and my couch is big and comfy enough for both of us.”

“You’re talking to a broadway performer—-we spent months rehearsing and planning for perfection. We don’t really ever just—-go with it” he said with a laugh, not even able to imagine doing something like that in his memory of professional acting in theater. “We’ll see won’t we? Your connections versus mine. Who’s going to call in some favors? Who knows” it was always this way with her but it was just part of what made him really like her company, they were both stubborn as hell but she was someone he liked being around.

“oh come on, even you’ve had to have come up with some good improv lines before, right? if not we’re doing a comedy night before the semesters out, and you don’t get to say no.” she winked at him over her shoulder, already planning the night in her head. “oh gio, when will you learn that i always get my way?” she shook her head with a smile; things had always been like this between the two of them. it was fun to have someone who was able to not only tolerate her stubbornness, but match it with his own. it made things that much more interesting.

“what can i say? i’m a girl of many talents.” she said with a bright smile. she thought about the options from freya. “while i do enjoy my modern places, i’ve been in the mood for some italian food.” she said with a smile.  “i mean while modern is nice, italian is always an in food. and i have had a lack of nice italian foods on my instagram lately.”

“so you’ve shown.” she grinned back, pulling out her phone to pull up the restaurant’s address. “well then, its a good thing this place has been the subject of many of my students’ works. If they’re able to earn a passing grade for being photogenic, I’m sure it’s worthy of your instagram - otherwise i’ll have to up my standards.” tugging her camera bag over her shoulder, she nodded her head towards the nearby lot. ‘c’mon, i’ll drive. we can grab your car on the way back if need be.”

“Well that’s your problem isn’t it? You gotta convince them to let you hire someone yourself—-dont’ trust some educators to hire a good model for you” he said as if he was an expert on the matter jokingly. “Maybe i’m taking you there because i know the owner, and can text them my credit card number to pay before we even get there” he challenged with a grin before nodding his head toward the door. “I’ll drive”.

“but that’s some of the fun isn’t it? making shitty circumstances work and making something lovely out of some scraps of an amateur model and a less than decent budget?” her smile became genuine as she thought back to some of her earlier works. passionate and political, even with a few people from the streets of London and a camera with a zoom lens. focusing back into the present, she tossed him the keys and made her way into the passengers side of the car. “and maybe I have enough connections in this town to make sure you get that money back before we’re out of the parking lot. we’ll just have to see, hm?”

“Save the money and get a better model next time that won’t bail on you!” he said with a laugh. Gio was someone that lived for these things, despite being away from that world for awhile he did miss being the center of attention. “We’ll see about that. I have some tricks up my sleeve, just because you want to pay doesn’t mean i’ll let you!” he argued with a grin “There’s a place right off campus i love”.

“listen that model was provided by the school so i’ll get that money back either way.” she grinned at his refusal to let her pay. “that almost sounds like a challenge, gio. one i won’t back down from” she laughed, bright despite the circumstances. “you might think you’ve won, but i promise you’re wallet won’t be any emptier once i’m done here.” she crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. “now lets get going so i can pay.”

“I mean, I’m not going to say no to food.” Who would? He was a growing boy. He ate a lot. It wasn’t always healthy, but it was healthy enough. “What exactly happened to the last person meant to model for you?” He knew it wasn’t his business, but perhaps she should invest in people who would stick around and NOT run. “Last semester someone took my photos for their project. I like to think I’m model material. That way if this college thing doesn’t work out, I have something to fall back on.” 

“oh they were someone the school provided me with. apparently they were an alum who was a fan of some of my old pieces, though clearly not enough to show up on time” she rolled her eyes, but shook her head. “but you came along and things worked out just fine, so i can only complain so much.” she glanced back at him again, a smile quirking at the corner of her lips. “well you’ve certainly got the skills to be a model. you wouldn’t have lasted this long with me if you didn’t. now tell me: where do you want to go for food, because i, for one, am starving.”

“it is no problem. while i love taking photos, i love being in front of the camera more.” hazel told freya. hazel had photos of herself and beautiful photographs she had taken of other things. it’s while she decided to major in photography since she just loved to be around a camera. “and i’m really good with getting anything to eat.” she said with a sweet smile.

“well, well, a photographer and model, huh? truly a woman after my own heart.” freya grinned and packed up the last of the lenses, making sure they were kept in place before putting them in with the rest of her supplies. “anywhere in particular you’ve been meaning to go? i’ve heard plenty of gossip about the new italian place just off campus, but i’m sure somewhere more modern is more your scene. take your pick.”

“I don’t mind at all—-it’s been a few years since i’ve done anything with photography” afterall he had been a big time success on Broadway for a little under a decade, so he wasn’t a stranger to this type of thing. “You really don’t have to do that. This is what friends do—-we can definitely grab something to eat but you don’t need to pay for it”.

“c’mon gio, at least let me put this faculty salary towards something, its certainly not going towards the model that never showed.” she shook her head with a smile. “once we get to the restaurant i’m taking the bill no matter what, so you might as well surrender now and save our dignity. now drop me a location so we can get going, i can only wait so long for food.”

“i really appreciate you giving me a hand with this.” freya smiled at her companion over her shoulder as she tucked her camera back into its case. she was going to have a few words with the model who bailed on the shoot last minute, but first she needed to give thanks to the one who managed to save it. “i think you’ve at least earned something to eat for your time, on me. whatever you’re in the mood for, i’ll cover it.”

freya morgan is a 32 year old staff that works as photography professor. it has been stated that they are confident & free spirited, but they can also be mischievous & noncommittal. she happens to be into bondage & public displays, but won’t do scat/gore & watersports. it just so happens that they look like natalie dormer and are bisexual.

x. freya morgan was born of an accidental pregnancy to a set of parents who weren’t planning on having her. she was given to her parent’s best friends, sophia and christian morgan, and have never really been a part of her life. she grew up in a happy home to her adopted parents, and has one younger sister, lorelei morgan (age 22), who she loves dearly. 

x. growing up her parents let her get away with a lot of stuff, seeing it as a chance for her to discover who she really was. they drew the line at legal troubles and things like hard drugs, but she was free to party and smoke all she wanted, so long as she was happy.

x. because of how she was raised she’s very free spirited and fun loving. she discovered a love for photography and modeling in her teen years and eventually ended up going to art school and teaching others her ways. she does a lot of political pieces about things such as sex work and modern feminism, or just normal things like fashion shoots. if she has a camera in her hands and a purpose she agrees with, she’ll take just about any job.

x. because she was so free spirited and got away with a lot growing up, commitment was never a huge thing for her. she has a habit of having fun with people, but keeping them at an arms length, never letting them get too close. this isn’t so much out of fear as it is just the way she is. she’s the type that’s down for some post sex cuddling and breakfast the next morning, but doesn’t expect you to stay for dinner that night.

x. she became a photography professor after some of her more political pieces blew up and she became more recognized, if not more controversial. she decided that if some old white men didn’t like her shoots on sex work and prostitution, than she might as well teach their sons and daughters something that they’d never be willing to do themselves. she loves the environment that seaside brings and is fairly content with how things are going for her here, so long as she’s got someone to keep her warm most nights.
