You will get three Amber Ha'pennies for free and can buy more with Fate. Ha'pennies are used to get a variety of special things from the holiday.

If this is your first time doing Whitsun and you care about Optimal Play, the best use of Ha'pennies is to not spend them. Save them for next year - they roll over - so you can buy the Highly Illegal Experimental Augmentation Device for five Ha'pennies. It's by far the best investment you can make.

(But if you're willing to spend Fate for more Ha'pennies, have a generous friend who'll gift you the Device, or simply do not care, then do as your heart desires.)

If you're especially optimization-obsessed, there's a subguide ranking the usefulness of every item from the holiday.

I saw some folks compliment my clothwork on the previous midnighter doodle I posted, and HERE'S THE TRUTH I draw almost everything DIRECTLY from references. like I go on google and search "person in monk outfit with hood up" or whatever and pick an image to draw as closely as I can reasonably do. I've accepted that not only do I not know what Anything looks like, I do not even know enough to Guess at what anything Might look like. so it's time for me to grind out 777 Drawings From An Actual Photograph irl

Fallen London has added a feature where you can hire this Luckless Captain guy as an Agent to run a ship for you, loan him some of the equipment you're not using, and then let him do tasks for you in the background. It's neat! Naturally there's a lot of funny applications of getting to play dress-up with this NPC and the various wild things FL counts as "equipment" -- one of which is... a nightmare of Poor Edward??? if you married him then you can LOAN THIS GUY YOUR NIGHTMARE HUSBAND??????????? THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ONE, I couldn't stop thinking about it
