B4F Women's Day 1

We started the day with an official kickoff from the Friendship Circle of Mercer I

sland, WA. There was a celebratory breakfast, white ribbon cutting, and even a mayoral address to begin the journey. With beautiful views of Lake Washington and a perfect breeze, it was a great 36 mile ride through Seattle to Puyallup, WA. Don’t worry family, we were on smooth bike trails for 95% of the way! While the trusted Penske truck will always bring a smile at rest stops and final destinations, a greeting from a black lab puppy in the motel lobby was truly the best way to end the ride.

I am with a terrific group of 13 cyclists, 1 coach/route planner, 1 ride coordinator, and 2 wonderful support staff members, all from across North America.

It is great to have begun this adventure with the start of the new Jewish month of Tammuz. With one day down and a BBQ awaiting outside, I am only looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.
