How does it feel to have created a nation? /silly

honestly its really nice!!! if not a bit shocking lol, i was not expecting so many people to make gee animal blogs

i would say a lot of it is because of @geepods since they were the first spin off blog of mine (love you geepods ❤️) but im genuinely so happy everyone is making their own, everyone's so sweet and i love the community made over matching mcr members to silly animals

and i think its a very good kind of blog to have right now with the way everything is, its important to have small joys to look forward to everyday and its also important to appreciate nature and remind yourself how beautiful everything is! its part of the reason i made birdgee

Starry Night Harlequin Toad (Atelopus arsyecue)!

The species is critically endangered :( The toad was not seen during the period from 1991 until 2019, and had been assumed to be extinct, but thankfully in 2019 it was spotted! The toad resides in the sub-Andean and Andean forests in Colombia, and the native Arhuaco community viewed it's habitat as a sacred location, so scientists were unable to access it. In 2019 the tribe allowed scientists to visit to help with conservation. They are also very small, being less than 5 centimeters (2 inches) in length!

I’m in AP bio and we’re studying taxonomy rn (that’s like, classifying species, ie Latin name, genus, etc. wouldn’t it be fun to make a genus name for the gee blogs? The naming conventions are Genus epithet, so the genus is the first word (capitalised) and the epithet is for the specific species, and it would be fun to have scientific names for all the blogs!

I have a proposition for all us mcr animal blogs, what if we tag our posts with something like ‘mcr farm’ or ‘mcr zoo’ so people who follow our blogs have an easy way to find our posts?
