Hiatus Announcement

Hey everyone!

Just a quick update to let you all know that both @hes-striker and @froggy-little-flips will be going on hiatus for the time being. Life has been pretty busy lately with running a Discord server, managing other blogs, and keeping up with fanfiction writing—so to avoid burnout, I’m stepping back from these blogs for a bit.

This isn’t a goodbye! Just a temporary break to focus on other projects and responsibilities. I’ll still be around on my other platforms, and I fully intend to return once things settle down.

How are you two doing?

Fizz: *has been on resting a lot with the egg nearby*

Ozzie: Sorry but we’ve been very busy. Fizzy is still recovering from surgery and I’m busy with the nursery! We’re going for a “Royal Frog” theme! For our little Prince or Princess! We don’t mean to be neglectful of the blog. It’s just…a little more stressful than we realized and Fizz needs a stress free environment for a bit.

Am I the only one that didn’t notice that when Asmodeus was hugging Fizzarolli when Fizz came back from getting kidnapped, you can see Asmodeus has literal TEARS. He is so relieved that Fizzarolli is back and not really hurt, that he is actually tearing up and basically crying while he hugs Fizz tightly

Given that it is cracked and might have some unknown complications, is the egg going to have to Hatch in a hospital setting?

Ozzie: We don’t know for sure. But we’re monitoring it as best as we can here at home.

How long till the Egg hatches?

Ozzie: That’s a tough question. Right now we’re monitoring the egg with little sensors and keeping it in a climate controlled incubator. Best guess is that it’ll hatch in several months.

How is the talk between Blitzø and Fizz?

Blitzø: *walks to Fizz’s room with Nova in her carrier* Fizz? You okay?

Fizz: *pokes his head from his blanket, looking awful* Blitz? What are you doing here?

Blitzø: Your giant rooster called me. And I also wanted to introduce you to someone special! *unbuckles Nova from the carrier and holds her out a bit* Meet Nova!

Fizz: *looks at the baby with amazement for a moment before pain registered in his eyes and he looks away* Cute kid.

Blitzø: Thanks! She’s a cutie patootie!

Fizz: Blitz, this isn’t a great time —

Blitzo: *walks over to Fizz and sits on the bed* I heard about what happened. With your egg cracking…but I also heard that your baby inside of it is doing good!

Fizz: I hurt them…I was careless and I hurt my baby!

Blitzø: Hey now don’t talk like that. You don’t know yet. Yeah the shell may have crack but it’s sealed right? And we’re all a bit broken when we think about it.

Fizz: But I did this…I hurt my baby.

Blitzø: You can’t keep blaming yourself Fizz. Just look at Nova.

Fizz: Blitz I don’t—

Blitzø: Just look! *holding Nova up* she was born premature! She only hatched recently. She should still be incubating but she wanted to come out! She’s thriving and with you and Ozzie as parents, so will your little chick.

Fizz: But…

Blitzø: Fizz. You’re one of the sweetest, most loving imps I know. You care so much that you’re hurting yourself. Please just…be excited for your baby okay?

Fizz: What if my baby—

Blitzø: If they survived being cracked, they’ll hatch and be the cutest little chicken ever. And my Nova will have a playmate! Like how we were playmates!

Fizz: *smiling softly* Thanks Blitz…I needed to hear that.

Blitzø: No problem. We gotta support each other ya know!

A little bit later…

Blitzø: *arriving with a baby carrier and loaded to the gills with baby supplies* Sorry I’m late! It’s hard getting things ready when you have a newborn!

Ozzie: Oh my goodness I had no idea your egg had hatched! *looks at the little baby, noticing the pink and purple blankets* Is she a girl?

Blitzø: Yep! Her name is Nova!

Ozzie: That’s so adorable!

Blitzø: Thanks! Now where is Fizz?

Ozzie: He’s on our bedroom. I should warn you, he’s in rough shape.

Blitzø: Let me see if we can talk to him *bends down and talks to Nova in baby talk* Isn’t that wight my wittle Novey-Wovey! Yes we will! Yes we will!

Wait.... Did i miss Blitzø and Stolas Egg hatching? They had a girl? What's her name?

Blitzø: Oh yeah! She hatched not long ago. We were really concerned since she hatched early but doctor says she’s healthy. We think she grew faster because of my imp side.

Blitzø: *shows the baby* Her name is Nova! And she looks like Stolas (and his daughter surprisingly). Stolas has been amazing with her! Then again I’m pretty sure he did much of the baby care for his own kid.

Ozzie, maybe call Blitzo over? Blitz knows a thing or to about intese guilt and shame. He might be able to help.Fizz through it

Ozzie: *nodding slowly* You know what? That’s actually a great idea. Blitzø has been through his own hell with that egg. He knows what it's like to be overwhelmed, to carry that kind of guilt and doubt. And look at him now... he has that sweet little girl. Maybe he can help Fizz see things differently.

Ozzie stands, hesitating for a moment before dialing Blitzø’s number, The phone picks up on the other end, and Blitzø’s familiar voice crackles through.

Blitzø: *with a lighthearted tone* Ozzie, what’s up?

Ozzie: Blitzø, I could use your help. It’s about Fizz. He’s... struggling. And I think you might be the best person to talk to him.

Blitzø’s tone shifts slightly as he catches the concern in Ozzie’s voice.

Blitzø: Yeah? What’s going on with him?

Ozzie: *explaining* He’s been dealing with a lot of guilt ever since the egg was removed—feeling like he’s ruined the pregnancy because of the egg cracking. He can’t even look at it right now. It’s... it’s really eating at him.

Blitzø: I get it. *sighs* I know what that feels like. When my egg came too early, I was a mess. I thought I was gonna lose everything.

Ozzie: *with a sigh of relief* Exactly. That’s why I thought maybe you could talk to him. You know, help him through it. You’ve been through the fire.

Blitzø: *with a small, understanding laugh* Alright, I’ll come over. Maybe I can help, or at least make Fizz laugh for a bit.

Ozzie: *relieved* I don’t care how you do it, just... please, Blitzø. I need him to feel better. He’s so lost right now.

Blitzø: *in a more comforting tone* I’ll be there soon.

I take it y'all are gonna be a bit more careful when it comes to birth control in the future? No offense, no one is denying how much you love the baby, but I feel like another pregnancy will be what puts Fizz in a early grave

Ozzie: Definitely! I don’t want say this was a mistake, but it’s not something I would want to repeat.

Ozzie, so are you guys going to keep the baby or put it up for adoption? It seems to be causing Fizz alot of emotional stress. Now to mention it'll likely have some health issues when it hatches

Ozzie: Look, I won’t sugarcoat it—this has been harder on Fizzy than either of us ever expected. And yeah, the baby might have some health challenges when it hatches. But we’re not giving up on them. We’re not perfect, and we don’t have all the answers, but one thing I can promise is that we’re not giving up. On each other, or on this baby. We’re gonna face whatever comes together, as a family.

Has Fizz seen the Egg yet? Maybe seeing it will help him feel better

Ozzie: He has…and it’s didn’t go as expected.

Flashback…

Two days after the surgery, Fizz is finally strong enough to leave his hospital bed. Ozzie, with a supportive arm around him, helps him to the nursery where the incubator is set up. Fizz, still weak but eager, insists on walking despite Ozzie’s protests.

Fizz: *determined* I need to see it, Ozzie. I need to know it’s okay.

Ozzie: *nodding, his voice soft* I get it, Fizzy Frog. Just take it slow, alright?

They step into the quiet, sterile room, where the egg sits in a high-tech incubator surrounded by monitors. Fizz’s breath catches in his throat when he sees it. The egg is smaller than he expected. The cracks have been sealed, but the surface is rough and uneven, a far cry from the smooth, pristine egg he’d envisioned.

Fizz: *staring in shock, his voice barely a whisper* That’s... that’s it?

Ozzie: *gently* Yeah, that’s our baby, Fizzy.

Fizz’s hands tremble as he steps closer, pressing his palms against the glass. The sight of the damaged egg fills him with an overwhelming sense of guilt and despair. His shoulders slump, and his eyes brim with tears.

Fizz: *shaking his head* It’s my fault...

Ozzie: *alarmed, moving to his side* What? No, Fizzy, this isn’t your fault.

Fizz: *his voice rising, choked with emotion* It is, Ozzie! I wasn’t careful enough. I should’ve known something was wrong sooner. I should’ve done more to protect it. Look at it! I... I ruined it.

He steps back, his body trembling as tears stream down his face. The joy he once felt about becoming a parent has been replaced by a deep, gnawing guilt. He turns away from the incubator, unable to look at it any longer.

Fizz: *whispering, his voice hollow* How could I let this happen?

Ozzie: *reaching out, his heart breaking for Fizz* Fizzy, listen to me. None of this is your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong.

Fizz: *shaking his head, his back still to Ozzie* I can’t... I can’t even look at it, Ozzie. I thought I’d feel happy, but... all I feel is... is guilt. And shame.

Ozzie: *gently turning Fizz to face him, holding his smaller hands in his own* Fizzy Frog, you’ve been through hell. Your body, your mind—you’ve been carrying so much. You don’t have to carry this guilt too. That egg is still here because of you. Because you’re strong.

Fizz: *sobbing, burying his face in Ozzie’s chest* I don’t feel strong. I feel like a failure. I am a failure!

Ozzie holds him tightly, his own tears threatening to fall as he struggles to find the right words to comfort his partner. He kisses Fizz’s head and lets him cry.

So what does this Egg look like? And what kind of damage is the concern here?

Several Days Later…

Ozzie: Sorry for the delay. It’s been hectic and stressful. First off I want to thank you all for your support! It truly means a lot. Secondly Fizz isn’t doing so well…he’s still recovering from surgery. He’ll be fun physically but postpartum depression has hit him hard. As for our egg…*reveals the egg that’s been placed in a environment controlled incubator*

Ozzie: The gold is from the sealant used. It looks worse than it is. Baby will need several months to incubate. Still a little fighter though!

How is Fizz in the recovery room?

Ozzie: Fizz is still in recovery. The surgery was harder on his body than initially thought. They’re trying to ease him out of anesthesia.

So, what happened? Were you a bit too rough with Fizz, did he fall or something?

Ozzie: *horrified*

Doctor: No. it looks like it’s a pressure crack.

Ozzie: A…pressure crack?

Doctor: Yes. Because Fizzarolli’s body is naturally smaller than what the egg needed, it began to crack under pressure — literally. It seems the egg shell had hardened much faster than anticipated. So the egg will need to be in an incubator for a long time. Hopefully with the solvent we put on the egg, no permanent damage was done to the offspring.
