The human-sized fairy was wandering through the forest she’d come across. It was a new land, perfect for finding new ingredients to make her dusts. Absently she tightened the ribbon that held back her wavy auburn locks and adjusted the strap of the bag that held across her shoulders.
Pushing aside some low-hanging branches, she soon spotted a berry bush. A bright smile formed on her lips as she rushed over to see just what sort of berries the branches held.
In the midst of her inspection the pirate soon heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Hazel eyes look about for the source and eventually settle upon a golden haird girl who was rested against a large tree.
“Oh, um. Hello.” Zarina said with a friendly smile as she dusted off her skirt while she stood. “I didn’t realize that there would be anyone else about in these parts.” She notes.
Discovering The Truth. For Anyone
Briar Rose waited until the cottage was quiet. She waited until she knew Flora, Fauna and Merryweather were outside, discussing the route in which they would return her back to the palace. Back to the King’s palace, for it actually turned out that she was really the Princess Aurora. She hardly knew who Princess Aurora was; who she was supposed to be; what sort of woman she was? How would she ever live up to being a regal and royal Princess?
With a heavy, hopeful heart, Briar Rose gathered enough supplies in her wicker basket: figs, broken slices of bread, and some berries, to keep her replenished as she escaped away from the cottage and the only family she knew.
She wanted nothing to do with the future, and everything to do with staying in the woods.
Slipping to the opposite end of the forest, Briar Rose ran. She ran as far as she could, for as long as she could, until she came to rest against a large oak tree. Taking a deep breath, she suddenly noticed she was not alone.

It could be dust from the hunter fairies that appear in Tinkerbell and the Neverland Beast! I don't remember if they showed their specific dust colour, but it could be dust that makes one fly quicker, be stronger, and more accurate when it comes to hand-to-hand combat! (Which would be handy when being a pirate, but could also be very rare due to the seriousness of ;hunter' talent fairy, which could be why Zarina doesnt use much of it, because she might not know if she'll ever need it enough)
♣ Oh, you mean the Scout talent? That is another possibility, I defiantly agree that it most certainly would be really powerful and very very useful to have. It would likely be one where it would really be handy to have around in serious circumstances. And yeah, being a pirate that would help too. X3

froma-trickle-toa-roar:
So I just got done re-watching the Pirate Fairy and I noticed that on Zarina’s desk where she keeps all her dust (on the pirate ship that is) there is a red bottle sitting in the middle shelf next to some green dust.

Now it’s clearly some sort of Pixie Dust but it’s not that Animal Talent dust as that one looks very similar in color to the Light Talent dust.

(Animal Talent)

(Light Talent)
So that creates the question of, what does the Red Pixie Dust do? I can’t really think of anything that it could be so I’m all for taking some opinions. Clearly it’s a dust Zarina doesn’t use often for one reason or another be it rather useless or maybe just really powerful who can say. *shrug*
If you’ve any ideas what the Red Pixie Dust could be lemme know! I’ll make a list of suggestions so far and pick out which I like the best or maybe I’ll have people vote on it, i’ll let you all know! X3
Suggestions so far:
‘Murder’ Dust - (from Meg/Jane [I kid you not that is what she is pestering for me to make it be X3])
Mind Control Dust - (from Clopin/Honey Lemon/Mulan)
Pirate/Rogue Talent Dust - (from Princess Anna/Carl Fredricksen)
Scout Talent Dust - (from Aladdin)
♣

Maybe… like… PIRATE DUST? Idk but it has pirate-y stuff.
♣ Hmmm, you mean something along the lines of a Rogue Talent Dust? Like it makes you better at sneaking and other sort of rogue-ish stuffs. Yeah, that could potentially be a thing. X3

Zarina smiled when the woman introduced herself and took the offered hand to shake, she’d learned what that from James of course as fairy’s don’t normally shake hands like that.
“A zoologist?” The pirate noted carefully. “How interesting! What is a zoologist exactly?” She asked, wings fluttering in curiosity. As she released the hand she stretched out her legs once again and leaned back on her palms. “Aye, that I am.”
The pirate paused turning to look up at the sky for a moment as she thought over how best to explain to explain things in a way that Jane would be able to understand without sending her into another fit. “Do you know what Pixie Dust is?” She asked while her hazel eyes looked back at her companion.
i’ve shrunk! || zarina + jane;
Jane jumped a bit at the sudden hand on her shoulder, but forced herself to relax with a long, deep breath. She didn’t respond right away. This was all still very much to process, and everything felt slow in her mind. But, perhaps having it all explained would help. Her mind just couldn’t wrap around all of this at once, not without some sort of explanation as to how childhood daydreams were now right in front of her when they shouldn’t be.
“Jane Porter,” she finally said, introducing herself as well, extending a hand. “I’m a zoologist. It’s a pleasure to meet y– Wait, you’re a fairy and a pirate?”
She blinked in further confusion. Oh dear, this situation proved more and more confusing by the minute. Letting out another deep breath, she tried to shake off another bout of rambling. Far too many questions roamed around in her mind, but at least Zarina offered to answer them.
“Alright, just…explain as best and…as much as you can, then. I don’t want to keep you all day, but I’d very much like to understand how this is possible.”

“Wow, that sounds fascinating!” Zarina commented, her hidden wings fluttering once more. “How did you come up with such an idea?” The fairy wondered clearly very interested in this chemical metal embrittlement the girl spoke of.
The pirate nodded her head in understanding and she turned the book back towards herself. “It’s alright, though I still would not mind any input you could give regardless.” She noted with a bright smile.
A faint color momentarily stained the fairy's face, she never received praise for what she could do, aside from that of her crew, so she still was not all too used to it. “That...really means a lot.” Was all she manged to say her gaze once again downcast to the pages before her. How she’d wished the others back where she used to call home could have been the same. But no...
She almost hadn’t realized that tears had formed in her eyes until one feel onto a, thankfully blank spot on her notes. Hastily she wiped them away with a sigh as she glanced to the one seated just across from her. “Forgive me I don’t mean to be rude and just space off like that.” She apologized with a small chuckle.
Unbreakable // Zarina & Honey Lemon
“It’s when a solid metal gets distressed with a liquid one, the result is a harmless explosion of dust clouds as the hard metal disperses.”
Narrowing her eyes quizzically at the journal, Honey placed s hand on her chin. “Hmmm … I’m afraid alchemy isn’t really my forte.” She sighed. Oh, how Honey wished she could excel in every field of science, but she knew where her brain held the most power, so she simply smiled and pushed the book back to Zarina.
“I really admire what you’re doing, though.” The chemist giggled. “It’s hard to make it in the field of science, especially being a girl. But look at you! You are well on your way to discovering amazing things!”

♣ Bit of a Change
So then, I’ve decided that since we don’t have many of the fairies or Peter Pan characters in general I’m going to tweak Zarina’s canon a bit so as to open up more roleplay options. X3
She wasn’t betrayed by James in the end, and traveled along with him and the other pirates past the second star and to the mainland. Now the pirates are no longer restricted to just Neverland, though they still must travel back on occasion to replenish their supply of fairy dust.
Zarina keeps the jar of blue dust in her cabin and only ever takes it out when they return to replenish the dust supply. The only other one who knows where it is kept it James of course.
So, the pirates are free to pillage and plunder the mainland as they see fit.

This munday, or any day after, who is your muse played by in their official film depictions? And what do you think of them? [Sorry this is late]
♣ Zarina is voiced by Christina Hendricks

I haven’t seen any of her other works to my knowledge…I think I may have seen one movie she was in but that was a while ago so I don’t remember well, anyway *waves hand* that’s beside the point.
To character in question, I think she dose a great job giving a voice to the curious alchemist. X3

A slight half-smile makes it’s way onto the pirate’s face as she closes her eyes a second, letting out a soft sigh as the woman once again began to ramble for a while. She opened her eyes, and headed over to where the woman had flopped onto to sit next to her.
She hesitated a second but soon placed a comforting hand on the other’s shoulder. “You haven’t lost it...I get that this is all really confusing to you so...if you’d like I can sit here and try to explain things to you for a while.” Zarina offered as she moved her hand away to instead wrap her arms around her legs as she pulled them up to her chest.
The fairy figured maybe letting the woman have a moment to be able to fully process everything would be best before the two headed off to Neverland. That and...she realized it may also take a while to help teach her just how to fly, not that it was difficult, but being in such a state might not be a good idea.
“I’m Zarina by the way,” The pirate said after a moment realizing she hadn’t introduced herself yet, “Captain of the pirates of Skull Rock.” She added with a small nod of her head.
i’ve shrunk! || zarina + jane;
“We need to fly? I can’t fly!” Jane exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. “I’ve never flown in my life!” The idea of flying to this ship sounded not only daunting, but also impossible. This entire situation was not possible.
She watched in shock as the woman removed her coat, revealing a pair of wings on her back. When she spoke again, it hardly even reached Jane’s ears, her gaze fixated entirely on those wings.
When Jane was a girl, she often dreamed of fairies. Not all little girls did, of course, but a fair few did, and Jane was one of them. How marvelous would it be if charming, little creatures who looked like humans and sprinkled glitter and fluttered about on dewy wings existed? Not only would it be magical, but she could only imagine the things she could learn interacting with them! But as much as she dreamed, everyone always reminded her that fairies did not exist, so why dwell on them when she could focus her attention on other incredible things that she could study and learn from and interact with?
So Jane did precisely that. And now, here she was, standing mere inches above ground and looking at another woman standing at the same height, with wings on her back. Actual fairy wings. Confirming that she, in fact, was a fairy.
“I must be dreaming.” Jane flopped to the ground, reaching up to press her hands to her temples. “That’s the only explanation! I’ve been wandering in this forest all day, I must’ve passed out or knocked my head or, or… something. Maybe I’ve just gone delusional! Perhaps if I just…close my eyes I’ll wake up.”
Shutting her eyes tight, she shook her head furiously, then opened them. Nothing changed.
“No, no, no! It’s not working!” she groaned, trying and failing a few more times. None of them worked. “Well, it’s official. I’ve lost it!”

A light giggle left the fairy as the girl fumbled for words a moment. She listened to what the chemist had to say rather curiously. “Chemical-metal....embrittlement?” Zarina noted the last word slowly in order to make sure she’d said it correctly.
“I’ve never heard of such a thing. What is that exactly?” She asked wings, though hidden still fluttered in curiosity.
At the question to her own experiments Zarina looks back to her book. “Well, I’ve tried a few different things...” She hesitated a moment but soon turned the journal and slide it closer to the girl so she could see it herself. The pages listing the ingredients for the experiment only listed the Pixie Dust as simply ‘Dust’ so, she supposed that would be easier to explain then what it actually was. The pages held all the notes of the combination of experiments she’d already tried. Ranging from combining ground crystal shards to the dust then adding the drop of clear ocean water to boiling the water with the full crystal in it then adding a drop to the dust.
“You see, I find the best things to use for these powders are more natural ingredients, so you know things like flower petals or crystal shards and the like.” She explained as she pointed to the list of ingredients. “As I said, I’ve managed to narrow down what is best to use for what I’m trying to create but I can’t figure out the right combination to make it work....the only thing I know for sure it that the blue speck is always added last.”
Unbreakable // Zarina & Honey Lemon
“Ah!” Honey nodded, smiling as she took a look over at the girl’s book. “I’m sure others think so too.” Honey encouraged, noticing the insanely complicated amount of notes she had taken.
“Oh, si- hai- I mean, yes!” The chemist fumbled for the correct language slapping an embarrassed hand on her forehead, giggling. “I am a chemistry major over at SFIT! My major project right now is chemical-metal embrittlement! I’ve been working at it’s properties and applications for a … while now. But I’m just sure it’ll work!”
Taking another glance over to Zarina’s, Honey tapped a slender finger on the alchemist’s journal. “What tests have you run so far?”

Hades would kindly sink your ship, so that your mind is distracted from the nightmare.
Not about to tolerate such a threat, the pirate reaches into her coat pocket where a small pouch lay within, takes a pinch of the contents in hand, and throws it.
She wasn’t sure what was going to happen what she threw the multi-colored dust (which was comprised of one of each dust she’d perfected already save for the glass beads of course) at the being whom threatened to sink her ship, but now was good a time as any to find out.

Zarina fumbled around in her bag a moment only to sigh when she realized that of all things she also forgot to grab a few more beads, she only had one left and that wouldn’t be enough to get two people back to the ship.
As the woman attempted to figure out what was going on the pirate momentarily moved her bag from where it rested over her shoulder in order to take of her coat which underneath hid her own wings. “Actually, my ship isn’t even at that dock, it’s a...” The fairy paused a second, “bit further away...” She began as her now freed wings fluttered behind her in relief of no longer being cooped up. She folded up her coat as best she could and placed it into her bag as she picked it up once more.
The pirate glanced upwards so she could to locate the direction they needed to head. There it was! That was the star they needed! Facing the woman again Zarina pointed towards their destination. “We’re....gonna need to fly into that in order to reach my ship.”
As her arm fell back to her side Zarina gave a one-arm shrug at the question, the beaded golden hoop hanging from her ear now swaying a bit as it was grazed by her shoulder. “Well....yes actually.” She replied honestly, her wings fluttering behind her again to emphasizes her words.
i’ve shrunk! || zarina + jane;
“Pixie dust?” Jane blinked, expression blank. This was a lot to take in, and her mind felt completely overloaded. Hearing that she could be returned to normal size, however, perked her up…until the woman announced that wouldn’t be happening right away.
Snapping back to reality (sort of), Jane let out an exasperated sigh. “Your ship? How are we supposed to get to your ship? Look at us! We’re tiny! Miniscule! The nearest port is all the way in the city and we’re who knows how far into the woods!” She paused only to take a breath. Suddenly it felt so much harder to breathe – there was so much air and she could only take in so much and she felt sure she was on the brink of hyperventilating. This was all dreadfully confusing and she still couldn’t figure out why they were so tiny. And the wings? How on earth could they suddenly have wings–
Oh.
“Wait, are you… are you a fairy?” Her voice lowered to a fierce whisper. It sounded completely ridiculous to say. Certainly fairies didn’t exist..and yet, here they were.
