It was good that he wasn’t in the Datascape when he learned this information, even better that Joshua had decided to visit this day! This was going to be great!

“Well...” Sora hummed as he started to walk towards the town’s direction, “I wasn’t able to get that much detail about the events in there, but I heard there’s something like Fruit Ball and kart racing! They turned the castle courtyard into one of the race tracks, too. And something called Flick Rush...? It used pins or something along those lines.”

“Great! The festival’s at Disney Town, and they’re still setting up a few of the stalls left… But we can go check it out now!”

“H-Hey, don’t drag me into this!” he pouted, which then turned into a grin. “I gave you the warning, I’m being helpful!”

“Well if you have the real gummi blocks you’d be able to make one.” Sora replied, holding his hands out. Out of thin air, blocks of various shapes and colors digitized in his hands. While for a brief moment they flickered, it all looked really solid. “These are only digital replicas, and they wouldn’t really be the same when you use them in the real world. There’s probably some blocks scattered outside Disney Castle, though.”

“Well we had to get along if we wanted to find our friends.”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” Joshua giggled in response. “And if he does have his flamethrower, I’ll tell him it was all your idea. I’m just a harmless visitor.”

“Sure, I’d be interested in seeing them,” Joshua agreed. They sounded quite interesting for a simple name such as gummi. “And you say they can turn into ships? I wonder if anyone can build one. They’d seem rather convenient since I can’t activate my portals.”

Joshua realized he has already spent quite a bit of time in this data town, more than he planned. But he was having fun and him being in this world didn’t seem to affect anything too badly so he didn’t mind a longer visit.

Riku’s eyes widened. A member of the Organization?! And the right hand man of Xemnas, too... This is bad. Really bad.

“...” He gave no response once again, merely gritting his teeth as he decided on what to do.

Data Riku wasn’t really a believer of the afterlife (he was data after all; they were meant to disappear as if they were never there in the first place), but if he fell into Hades’s dominion, he was sure it would be like this: absolute tickle torture.

He didn’t really need to breathe, but he was losing air fast from the constant laughter from data Sora’s relentless tickle attacks, along with the real Sora restraining him and-- okay that was definitely another noogie.

The absolute torture!!!

“Learned your lesson yet, Riku?” Sora teased, having way too much fun with this.

Good thing Sora had gotten plenty stronger thanks to his journeys! That or the Data-version of Riku just didn’t have all the strength the real one did…. which didn’t seem very likely, but now that he’s holding onto him it makes him wonder. All his kicking and squirming doesn’t really deter the older one though.

“No can do, Riku!” Sora can’t even help grin from ear to ear at that. That’ll show him for acting so mean! The other Sora took the words right out of his mouth anyway. The tickling commenced, and Sora can’t help but feel a tiny bit of satisfaction from it.

Sora will spare Data-Riku some dignity by letting him go once his younger counterpart got a minute or two of tickling in. It’s kinda weird how much of deja vu he’s getting from all of this… but that’s probably just because they’re both the younger versions of himself and Riku. He’ll still give him a slight noogie on top of his head though before fully releasing him.

On one hand, Riku was happy Kairi could rely on him as emotional support, especially through such troubling times. On the other hand, he felt... sad for her. This was obviously taking a toll on her emotional welfare, yet she’s trying her hardest to make it seem like it wasn’t badly affecting her.

(When it obviously was.)

He decided to say nothing for that moment, stroking her hair in a comforting manner. “Just take all the time you need. I’ll be here for you.”

Riku. I cant sleep...will you help me?

Riku turned his attention to Kairi, seeing her tired form. He had been staying with her for quite some time now, but still these things were foreign to him, such as sleep. The body needed to recharge, yes, but the concept of being unable to do so when required eluded him. Nonetheless, he was willing to help in any way he can.

“Of course.” He nodded. “How can I help?”

Upon seeing the other will their weapon, their keyblade to disappear, Kairi hesitated slightly before doing the same for hers. It was only fair for her to do the same, if this person was literally lowering her defenses in front of her.

“Well, I can start by answering your second question.” the redhead began. “This is the Datascape, a digital representation of Jiminy Cricket’s journal. In a way, think of it like a sentient hologram, though some of us are more ‘living’ than sentient.”

She continued. “I’m this journal or world’s Kairi. And who might you be?”

She’s not the one I’ve seen in Sora’s memories then. So what is this world- she lowered her keyblade and let it vanish. And why does she look like kairi then- fully turning to the data version of the girl, she gave a nod at her question

“Something like that..but why do you look like her then..and where am I?”

More info about the Roaming Magician AU!

The main reason why they’re out and about is because the computer is going through more (ugh) updates, and this one is going to take longer than usual

To compensate for them not being allowed back in the computer, King Mickey allows them to roam freely around the worlds, as long as they don’t cause trouble

Meanwhile Chip and Dale give them something like a backpack that’s basically their own personal battery pack, which they can recharge on their own time (since usually if it depletes they have to go back to the Datascape, which they currently can’t)

It was data Sora’s idea to have a little “magic show” wherever they go, so their time waiting won’t be gone to waste, and they can provide entertainment to others as well!

They told their little plan to the residents of Disney Castle, who helped them out with their clothes, though it probably slipped their mind to tell the real Destiny trio about the data version’s plans

Donald, Daisy, and Minnie helped them out with their routine. It was Jiminy’s idea though to incorporate the use of a book instead of a wand or staff (much to Donald’s dismay)

Wherever they travel, they always introduce themselves as Sora Riku and Kairi, so confusion always ensues whenever the real Destiny trio visits

Their acts always involve their ‘magician’ Riku making things appear and disappear out of thin air, which always awes a crowd

Sora is the guy who gathers an audience, calling for people to attend their little street show

Kairi is the girl who scouts the area beforehand, looking for the best place to set up and get a lot of people to watch them

Whenever others try to ask them for an interview, they immediately disappear through the book, which also disappears in what appears to be pixels

They have a lot of fun with this tour if you can’t tell

Kairi summoned forth Oathkeeper upon seeing the other bring out their own keyblade -- this person can wield one too?! This raises a lot more questions. She did blink, however, upon hearing the person say her name, Kairi’s name.

“You know Kairi?” she asked, lowering her weapon slightly. Slightly.

What type of world was this, a soft buzzing and a few worlds that Sora had visited during his travels. She tensed at the sudden wave of light behind her, summoning her keyblade and taking a familiar stance, the ravenette turned around with a slight glare before her eyes widen in shock

“N-no way…Y-your Kairi, h-how are you young again, a-and here, y-your suppose to be at Yen Sid’s tower training how to use your keyblade!”
