Me, a menstruater: Why must you constantly prep for babies? Can't you just wait until after we decide we want babies?
Uterus (now with magical eye, hip flask, and peg leg): CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

When I was little, all I wanted was to get my favorite characters in my own world.
Then I read Inkheart.

Guys guys you're going to want to hear this:
I just had a revelation while reading the Iliad:
In The Last Olympian, Silena poses as Clarrise by wearing her armor in order to rally the troops (specifically the Ares cabin if I recall correctly).
In the Iliad, Patroclus poses as Achillies by wearing his armor in order to lead the Greeks into battle.
In The Last Olympian, Silena is killed by the Drakon.
In the Iliad, Patroclus is killed by Hector.
In The Last Olympian, Clarrise becomes enraged and fights the drakon to avenge Silena.
In the Iliad, Achilles gets enraged and goes to kill Hector to avenge Patroclus.
In The Last Olympian, Clarrise finds the one weak spot in the drakon's armor and stabs it with her electric spear and kills it.
In the Iliad, Achillies finds the one weak spot in Hector's very good armor and cuts his neck, killing him.
In The Last Olympian, Clarrise threads a rope or a chain through the drakon's eye sockets and drags the carcass behind her chariot.
In the Iliad, Achilles threads ox-hide cord through (yes, I said through, he makes holes) Hector's ankles and heels and drags his body behind his chariot.
In conclusion, Rick Riordan wrote this scene with Silena and Clarisse to mimick Achilles and Patroclus.
Do what you will with this information.

Hermes is the god of language
So I have this headcanon that some children of Hermes have got the ability to learn languages really fast. Like, being able to communicate after a day. Being fluent after a week if they’ve got someone to talk with.
Imagine the Hermes kids chatting with Nico in Italian, or French with the Aphrodite cabin. Of course they know Spanish aswell because of all the Latinos in the Hephaistos cabin.
Luke speaking Japanese with Ethan when they’re planning something none of the monsters should know about. Travis and Connor planning pranks in Russian or Thai just to keep them secret.
Imagine them in school, writing bad grades because of dyslexia, never speaking up because they’re not that good in school anyways. But then the teacher asks them something, and they answer in perfect, accent-free german. The whole class is gaping.
Just think about Hermes kids mixing up the languages when they’re nervous. Hermes kids comforting new campers in their native language because they miss their family. Hermes kids travelling the world, trying to learn as many new languages as possible. Hermes kids working as translators or teachers.

The real test is if they cast the Stoll brothers as twins or not (because they aren’t)

This just occured to me, but what did Travis and Connor’s mother do to attract the attention of Hermes TWICE? Cause Travis and Connor aren’t twins.
Like people talk about how insane it was that Thalia and Jason’s mother got Zeus two times….but how do you get Hermes twice??
Conclusion: their mom is either a world renowned thief and that’s why they’re year rounders, or she’s just the fucking greatest mailwoman in history.

Harry felt as though the bottom had dropped out of his stomach.
“I DON’T BELIEVE IT!” Hermione screamed.
Lupin let go of Black and turned to her. She was pointing at him, wild-eyed. “You – you –”
“Hermione –”
“– you and him!”
“Hermione, calm down –”
“I didn’t tell anyone!” Hermione shrieked. “I’ve been covering up for you –”
“Hermione, listen to me, please!” Lupin shouted. “I can explain –”
