Primarch Headcanons: Pool Edition

Since the last one did so well how the fuck did that get to 75 notes, who are you people I figured it's okay for me to make another one, since the wretched heat continues and there's a horrible heatwave on its way here. Eugh. So! How do our Primarchs plus co enjoy the pool? And I haven't really touched on post-heresy with this one, except Fulgrim. Deal with it.

Lion: He's a swimmer or soak kind of guy. Either he's getting his cardio in, or he's found a nice shade in the corner of the pool to sit in. He's not much for direct sunlight but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy being outside.

Fulgrim: Oh you know he got a whole magnificent floatie, plus drinks tray, and he's basking in the middle of the pool, catching rays, wearing cool shades, and enjoying himself. Post-heresy? He can and will use his bigass tail as a floatie.

Perturabo: The man Does Not enjoy the pool. He can be found in the shade, on dry land, away from everyone else. But after everyone has left?... Well, he might dip a toe in. Sit on the edge, enjoy the quiet and the stars above. Mmmmaybe go for a short midnight swim.

Jaghatai: He's not much of a water person, as water is denser than air and thus hampers the speed capabilities, but he doesn't mind catching rays on the shore. Sometimes it's nice to swim and see if he can enhance his speed skills.

Leman Russ: Water hound. Man cannonballs into the pool the moment he can and is quite happy to paddle around, spraying water on anyone who gets within range for the shits and giggles of it. He'll do diving challenges and play games, just having a grand ol' time.

Rogal Dorn: Either you will find him on the shore, in the shade, just vibing in his own, or in one of the corners of the pool, also just vibing in his own. Soak or shore, but at least he's present and not buried in work.

Konrad Curze: He's swimming and being a menace, mostly patrolling the waters like a shark of Old Terra. He may do some dive challenges, but mostly he's just circling. It may seem menacing, but in truth? It's quiet here, under the surface, and he likes that. He prefers to swim during dusk specifically, because it's not full blast sunlight of daytime, and his nights are reserved for haunting.

Sanguinius: Shore or shallow end. He's either catching rays, lying on his belly, wings all floofed out, or he's doing the birdbath thing of idly preening his wings in the shallow waters. Just cooling down and enjoying himself. And splashing water everywhere he shakes those massive wings while in the water.

Ferrus Manus: He's a soak kind of guy. He'll slide in from the edge, find a good spot, and just lay his arms on the shore with his head resting on top, idly kicking his feet from time to time. He's just here to cool off for the most part, and pretend he doesn't have work to do for the next hour or so.

Angron: Sitting at the bottom of the pool. No, really. He'll come up for fresh air every so often but he's quick to dive down again and sit cross-legged on the bottom, eyes closed like he's meditating. The coolness of the water is helping a bit with the Nails, and the quietness of it is helping with his head. Just let him enjoy this, it's a small, rare reprieve.

Roboute Guilliman: Pool time is one of the few times he can officially let go of his responsibilities and enjoy a moment's respite. He's a swimmer, doing lap after lap, and having a grand ol' time. Sure, he can multitask by soaking in the shallow end and do paperwork on the edge but... let the man have his free time.

Mortarion: He'll remain on the shore, thanks. Maybe dip in a toe. He's not big on the whole 'public body of water contaminated by other people' thing. But he'll enjoy the shade and the gentle breeze, happy to remain landlocked.

Magnus: He'll be showing off every time he jumps into the water. He'll jump and do spins, flips, rotations, the works. He's good at it too. When he's not spinning and somersaulting, he's casually swimming around the edge, at ease, moisturised, in his element, unbothered.

Horus: Man doesn't need a floatie to float. Do with that information what you will. He will cannonball in, then vibe on his back, just idly kicking his legs from time to time and just enjoying the weather and the water.

Lorgar: He's a soak kind of guy, found in the shallow waters where he vibes in the sunlight, catching those sweet rays. To him it's a small, religious experience; being submerged in the waters of life, feeling the breeze on his skin like the breath of the earth, and the warm sunlight on his skin like something sacred. He could stay like this for hours, peacefully coexisting with life. Erebus and Kor Phaeron are not invited.

Vulkan: He's casually making one of the smaller pools into the equivalent of a hot spring, just by sitting in it. It's still significantly cooler than what he's used to, so mission success all the same. He's enjoying himself, and so are a few serfs who enjoy a good hot spring in the shade. Everyone wins.

Corvus: He doesn't attend until in the evening. He doesn't do well in the direct sunlight, so he goes for midnight swims instead, where it's nice and quiet, and he can enjoy the peace on his own. If he's ever found in the daylight hours by the pool, it's in the shadows where he feels the most comfortable.

Alpharius: Him and his twin are sometimes there, sometimes not. Sometimes it's just one of them, sometimes it's both of them. Sometimes they claim to not even like the pool. Go figure.

Bonus #1 - The Emperor: Floatie. Cocktail. Sunglasses. He is all vibes and nothing can stop him. He exists in the here and now, unbothered, sipping his drink, enjoying the sun and the water in equal measure. Balance in all things.

Bonus #2 - Malcador: One of three places; on the shore in the shade, vibing with a cold drink; swimming at a leisurely pace; or lying on top of the Emperor and using him as a floatie.
