        billie  expected  her  day  to  go  without  elliot.  though,  she  couldn’t  complain.  thoughtlessly  twirling  the  end  strands  of  her  hair,  billie  leans  in  the  frame  of  her  front  door  as  she  watches  the  other  smirking.  she  tilts  her  head  at  his  offer,  the  faintest  smile  growing  on  her  lips.  “i  don’t  know,  lunch  sounds  pretty  date-y  to  me.”   bill  remarks  sarcastically,  before  shrugging  her  shoulders.  “i’ve  got  nothing  better  to  do.”  she  decides,  as  if  she  hadn’t  missed  him  just  a  little  be  more  than  she’d  ever  willingly  admit.  “where  we  headed,  then?”

       “  sorry  to  show  up  unannounced  like  this  ,  ”  his  lips  curl  up  into  a  devious  smirk  ,  making  it  obvious  that  he  isn’t  exactly  ‘ sorry ’  like  he  had  previous  confessed  .  “  i  wanted  to  ask  if  you  wanted  to  grab  lunch  with  me  ,  ”  he  pauses  for  a  moment  ,  “  i  know  i  could’ve  texted  too  ,  but  a  part  of  me  —-  y’know  what  ,  the  offer  is  lunch  on  me  ,  take  it  or  leave  it  .  ”  he  could’ve  been  soft  &  sweet  &  say  he  missed her  voice  ,  but  that  would  be  too  easy  for  the  stubborn  male  .

       long  legs  stretch  against   ballet   barre,  billie  quietly  hums  along  to  one  of  the  band’s  songs  playing  in  the  background.  sure,  she  loved  to  sing.  but  that  love  simply  couldn’t  compare  to  her  passion  for  dance.  dance  rehearsals  were  always  her  favorite.  something  she’d  willingly  get  up  early  to  go  do --  even  though  she’s  likely  groggy  from  whatever  escapade  she  was  up  to  the  previous  night.  regardless,  billie  was  unable  to  sleep  through  the  night  last  night.  which  lead  to  her  heading  to  the  dance  studio  a  bit  earlier  than  normal.  “ sel?  hey!  i  didn’t  think  you’d  be  here  for  another  hour  or  so.”   she  greets,  spotting  her  bandmate  from  the  reflection  in  mirror.  “how’re  you  feeling?”

           she  did  complain  about  it ,  insisting  helping  run  the  carnival  was  noel’s  job.  that  he  should  be  the  one  going  over  to  ring  toss  to  pick  up  the  tub  of  tickets .  but  he  claimed  to  be  painfully  busy  and  she  had  nothing  better  to  do  --  so,  with  no  choice  she  reluctantly  made  her  way  to  the  ring  toss  booth.  " picking  up  your  tickets.”  she  says  in  a  mumble,  hardly  looking  at  sahar .  instead,  she  just  gazes  down  at  her  perfectly  manicured  nails,  too  stubborn  to  appear  uncomfortable  in  the  awkward  moment.

         with  a  giant  ice  cream  cone  in  hand,  she  lazes  around  the  park  on  her  break.  sunglasses  over  her  eyes  billie  cruises  through  the  park  grounds ,  the  dunk  tank  catching  her  eye  as  malachi  sits  inside,  just  waiting  to   get  dropped  into  the  water.  still  a  few  feet  away ,  she  watched  a  few  dozen  people  miss  the  target  over  and  over  again  until  finally,  the  ball  hits  the  target  dropping  the  boy  into  the  water.   this  illicits  a  string  of  laughter  from  bill.   “ yikes,  that  looks  like  fun.”  billie  remarks,  catching  up  with  the  other  behind  the  dunk  tank  booth.  “ guess i  shouldn’t   complain  about  having  to  paint  all  day.”
