Mack gave a small shrug as he answered, “Just a little script, prepping for an audition. Pretty great one too even though it’s probably the size of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

“Ha, thanks, I picked it myself when I was about seven, my birth name is a lot less cooler.” he said, shaking the others hand. “So what’s Mack short for?”

“You’re welcome and hey, it was a cool choice. Mack is short for Malakai, some childhood friends gave me the nickname then it stuck from that point to the present day,” the actor responded, a small chuckle escaping as he recounted the history.

Oliver took a sigh of relief, he had worried that he was hurting the younger male but felt a lot better knowing he hadn’t. Extending his hand out and taking the others, he smiled. Mack Sparks. Now that sounded familiar as well, something about him just reminded him of someone he hadn’t met properly but knew of them so well. “Nice to meet, ya. I’m Oliver. But my friends call me Ollie, well, if I had friends” he chuckled, making light of an actual fact. “I’m glad you’re alright too, I’d hate it if my clumsy giant self hurt you”

“Well, if it’s alright with you, I could be yours? After all, you can never have too many friends and hey, I’ve honestly had wilder causes for injury. Got a tiny scar on my left shoulder from doing something stupid during a school play. Ran into a door trying to get back onstage after a costume change,” Mack answered, fighting off a laugh as the memory resurfaced. “Anyway, what brings you out and about, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“You’re an actor? really? I somehow doubt that.” she said skeptically, mostly because she didn’t want to believe it. From what she had heard, famous people meant cameras, and that thought alone made her anxious.

“Yeah, really. It’s just been some recurring roles here and there, but I do have an audition for a main role coming up. Who knows? This could be the big break,” Mack answered, tone hopeful. “I really want to do something great like my parents, show that Hollywood can be much more than bad press.”

“yeah, i missed you too,” riley said, finally pulling away from the hug. “hey,” he said, looking at mack. “stop looking so guilty, okay? nothing was your fault.”

“But it’s what I do best,” Mack couldn’t resist sliding a joke in, especially to cover up how he felt until he could tie it up then shove it to the back of his mind to be dealt with later. “Anyway, what shall we do first? The world’s our oyster after all.”

“Nope, we lost contact, life kind of got in the way. Thanks and hey, reckless optimism is my game, if I’m being completely honest,” Mack responded, a light chuckle entering his tone as he finished speaking.

“A million?” she said, her jaw dropping for a moment before laughing loudly “Yeah, I don’t believe that, no one has a MILLION followers, not unless they’re like famous or something.” despite not agreeing with him, Sav couldn’t help but admire the kids optimism and faith. She had always been a pessimist, and would likely always be one. “I guess thats one way to measure coolness.”

With a nervous laugh, the 17 year old questioned, “Would now be a bad time to mention that I’m an actor? Also, my parents were pretty famous, so that might also be a factor in the follower count.” Then, he added, “But as for measuring coolness, it’s honestly one of my favorite ways. Life can take so many unexpected turns and just turn people into someone they never thought they would become sometimes.”

“Yeah, a pretty great stroke of luck that I ran into him again,” Mack agreed before giving a small smile. “Glad to hear that, minus the part about some people being tough to deal with. But hey, here’s to hoping they come around sooner rather than later.”

“Well, I’m not gonna confirm or deny that, given that I don’t know you, although apparently in this day and age we measure coolness in terms of followers - so whats your instagram count?” she said with a laugh. “Ha, trust me, no one in this house is THAT cool, we’re all a fucking mess.”

“About a million, give or take, unless that was rhetorical,” Mack fired back with a laugh of his own. “Well, mess or not, I maintain my hope. Coolness in my book is measured by how you go about life, even if it throws the worst of the worst at you. Call me a fool, but Mack is my name and being a foolish optimist is my game.”
