I’m sorry, I’m still seething over the absolute fucking audacity of saying “it’s nice that the aro/ace community felt represented by Good Omens, but they never explicitly state Azcrow are queer so it doesn’t qualify as queer representation. I’m only saying this because you deserve better.” As though the only reason anyone could be happy with the representation in Good Omens is if they were too fucking stupid to realize they could have explicit representation.

Look, if you say that the aro/ace community in specific as well as the broader queer community in general deserve more explicit representation, then I absolutely agree with you. I hope we all get so much representation that we’re drowning in it. If you say that you personally only like explicit representation, then that’s totally fair. Again, I hope you get all the representation your heart desires. And even if you say that you could never quite get the queer vibes from Good Omens and it would have worked better for you if they’d been more explicit about it, then I feel you. I frequently suck at picking up subtext too; did you hear the story about me being a grown adult before I found out Aslan was Jesus?

But if you say that all queer representation has to be explicit enough that the straights can’t deny it and the queerphobes might get pissed at it, then all you’re doing is centering queer representation on the feelings of straights and queerphobes. Fuck that! Straight people in general are fine, but they have so much media already; they don’t get ours too. And I don’t give a fuck what queerphobes think about it one way or the other. Fuck those guys; they fucking suck.

What I care about is my community. I want queer representation to fixate on providing queer people what they need to feel seen and important and good about themselves. And what many people, especially in the aro/ace community, are telling me is they feel seen by Good Omens, including in the fact that Azcrow’s relationship is left ambiguous. Great! I guess this one was for those guys. Very happy for them💖. Hopefully me and my desire for a romantically explicit, cuddling intensive, and happily sexless relationship can catch the next one.

Ikr, when tf have you ever heard of a dog with diabetes. Anyway it’s apparently common in her breed, especially in bitches that have been spayed.

In order to raise funds to get her set up with the stuff she needs to be healthy and happy I’m doing a Flash Fiction Offer.

It was getting dark and I went out just now to close the chicken coop, and I glimpsed a vague brown shape in the neighbour’s pasture. It could only be Pampe, so I circled the pasture through the woods in order to suddenly pop up behind her like AHA! and force her to trot away from me and towards her own pasture. From afar I saw Poldine’s little white head near Pyrgus and I was like urgh, Pampe, you can’t sneak out at night like a teenager and let your baby fend for herself, you’ve got responsibilities now. Then when I emerged from the woods I startled a large, beautiful stag. Just chilling by himself in the middle of this unoccupied pasture. The funny thing is, he initially reacted as Pampe would have done—grumpily bouncing away from me and towards the gate to the llamas’ pasture like fine, Mum, I’ll go home, until he seemed to have a sudden flash of insight like wait, I don’t even go here, and then he abruptly veered to the left and jumped over the fence and disappeared into the woods. I haven’t had a lot of close encounters with deerkind but they seem to live in a perpetual state of total confusion sporadically interrupted by 1 relevant thought, miraculously, at the last minute.
