“Sam, get your ass down here! I thought if we aren’t early, then we’re late.”

Sam rolls his eyes at his sister’s yelling. He had told Sarah that he would go to the boys’ concert, but now all he wants to do is lay in bed. Yesterday had been the anniversary of Riley’s death, and he hadn’t even realized it until he laid down to go to sleep last night. He didn’t get any sleep.

With a groan, Sam sits up and takes a deep breath, he can do this. For Sarah. For AJ and Cass. He can do this. He pulls on some clean clothes quickly and grabs his phone opening it to find that he had just gotten a message from Bucky a few minutes ago.

See you tonight?

Bucky was at his place in Delacroix. He had gotten an apartment when they decided to make it official after Sam complained once about having to travel to New York to see his boyfriend. Bucky had admitted he didn’t have anything left in New York and asked Sam how he felt about Bucky moving to Delacroix. Sam had been ecstatic, but now he’s wishing he had said no. There is nothing he wants to do less than go to the romantic dinner he knows that Bucky has planned after putting on a happy face for his family all day.

“Sam!” Sarah yells again.

“Coming,” he yells back as he stares at the phone. 

Sure.

He sends his response and turns his phone to do not disturb for the concert as he heads downstairs. His sister is waiting with the keys in her hands and that look on her face.

Sam just shakes his head and says, “Let’s not today.”

Her expression immediately softens, “You don’t have to go, Sam.”

“I promised the boys I would.”

Welcome to Samtember 2021, a relaxed event for any and all types of fanworks centered around Sam Wilson, with no minimum requirements and no stress. Rules and FAQ below:

How It Works

We’re providing a calendar of daily prompts for the month of September to inspire Sam-centric creations. Anyone is welcome to create content based on any prompt.

General Guidelines

Simply post your creation during the month of September. That’s it! The daily prompts are a suggestion, but you don’t have to post your work based on the prompt schedule. Tag us on Tumblr or Twitter so we can share, or post to our AO3 Collection.

Fanworks of any size in any medium are welcome. Fic, digital art, traditional art, podfic, moodboards, icons, recs, remixes, vids, playlists, headcanons, songs, poems, interpretive dance — anything and everything is welcome! We do ask that all submissions are newly created for this event and have not been shared previously.

Content Guidelines

All creations should be focused on Sam Wilson.

All Sams are welcome, from any canon, movies, comic, or AU.

Shipping and gen are both welcome, as long as Sam is in the spotlight.

Please take care to avoid anti-Black stereotypes or tropes (check out this awesome resource page from @samwilsonbirthdaybang​ for more info.)

No sympathetically portrayed hate groups or active promotion of racism, transphobia, homophobia, etc.

All content should be tagged appropriately and thoroughly.

FAQ

Who are the mods for this event? Your friendly mods are NachoDiablo & glittercake, with mod emeritus cinni.

What versions of Sam are allowed? All Sams are welcome, from any canon or AU.

Do we have to share our creations on the same day as the prompt we’ve followed? Nope, you can post any content at any time during the month.

Are we required to create something for each day of prompting? No, you can create as many or as few fanworks as you like.

Are there any age restrictions? No, but we do ask that if you are under 18, please keep your creations no spicier than T-rated.

Samtember is coming! This blog will get a little more active to show off this wonderful GROWING(!!) fandom's work. This blog will not be hosting prompts, but will be visiting the #samtember and #samtember2021 tags!

So it’s pretty well known that Sam Wilson doesn’t get the hype in the fandom he deserves. I wanted to do something to spread more love for him, create a resource for Sam fans to find excellent fics, and promote writers that write for Sam.

Here you’ll find all the Sam fics I’ve read and written, as well as Sam focused blogs. I’ll consistently update it so please feel free to send me fics to read and add (including your own), reblog with your fic recs, or send me a link to Sam blogs you love. Also, a signal boost would be a huge help to get more eyes on this and help build it up further.

Sam’s not leaving this to paperwork. Like he and Bucky are gonna be carrying around whatever medical power of attorney paperwork Dr. Raynor is thinking of while they’re on missions. No, there’s a simple solution here: if next of kin and spouses are the only ones to get speedy and full recognition as the person to talk to when one of them is incapacitated or goddamn dying in a hospital, then he and Bucky are just gonna have to be that. Next of kin is out, there’s too damn much explanation required there, and too much potential paperwork too, so that leaves spouse.

“We’re gonna get married.”

Dr. Raynor stops in the middle of the hallway. “What.”

When Bucky is seriously injured on a mission and Sam’s denied any updates about his condition much less allowed to see him, Sam comes up with a plan: a let’s-get-married plan. It’s only practical. It definitely doesn’t have anything to do with feelings, or being in love, it’s just for legal reasons. Just a totally practical, partners thing.

Irt the latest answer, please practice etiquette when following non English artists on Twitter. They operate under more than just a language barrier but a different set of laws in regards to fandom(yes, they can get in trouble). Most of this should be common sense but I've very recently seen it go poorly in other fandoms.

No, not even to translate for your own followers.

No replying in English with over familiar ironic-negativity, sarcasm, slang, or anything that can't be translated. Hearts, happy nonviolent memes and short phrases like "beautiful!!!😭❤😭" are usually fine

Don't randomly tag the artist into things.

Absolutely NO reposting without permission under any circumstance

Ask permission to use the image as a phone screen, icon, header, etc

Don't demand more content, promos, or follow4follow.

FUBM means follow-unfollow-block-mute free, so if you see something you dislike, pick one of the above and don't make a scene

Be sure to translate posts before you like/rt them, sometimes they're checking interest in artbooks and doujin, you don't want to be caught off guard when they're ordering the print run and want to know if you are still in
