I know I bang on about this pretty regularly but god every time I do the Thaumanova fractal I think about the city that had been above it. I think about people trying to figure out what was going on, if it was just a light show, or if someone had messed with power crystals in the core again.

But then the stones start breaking apart.

my guild wars 2 'take' is that joko is probably the best villain the game ever handed to us. like yeah ok balthazar wanted to take over the world and the dragons wanted to eat the world. whatever. joko was hand crafted by an artisan for the express purpose of being the most irritating possible guy. him and the commander have such a dire fatalistic frenzied dynamic where its like they want to eat each other alive like two overstressed rats in a tiny cage. he is not ONLY cruel and creepy, he is also intensely stupid and furthermore has the gall to get horny about it. if he weren't a shriveled desiccated corpse with a big hat he would be this fandom's emet-selch i think.

The Storm Warband, to which my elementalist Speratus belongs, specializes in dealing with infiltrators, sappers, and spies. This has not done Speratus any favors with his innate paranoia.

7. What's their motto, goal, or motivation?

Their goal/motivation is to root out corruption or sabotage within the charr ranks, especially from non-charr allies.

19. What's the overall social dynamic in the warband like? (chill and friendly, hard and hierarchical, like family, etc.)

They're very much a military unit and while there's a bit of familial undercurrent, there's also definitely a "we're a specialized and trained force and we need to work smoothly and effectively no matter what". So when Speratus started getting more unstable and paranoid, he was "weeded out" by the more serious members. Even though most of them were worried about him as a warband member, they were also worried just as much about the detriment of his unpredictability on their missions.

All of the survival knowledge and camping info that Speratus knows, he learned from Ascilianus Stormdancer, one of "The Twins". The only member who spoke out against sending Speratus on leave was Fulvious Spiritstorm, the warband's resident necromancer and the only other strictly magical member of the group.

Sylvari players need an update on the Pale Tree so fucking bad. We need an update on how things are doing that's not just a once off npc people might never talk to. This is serious. This is a massive thing for the entire race.

We need to know. It's been something like eight years since sylvari other than Caithe even played a role in the story. And that was to kill their creator. And NOTHING ever came from that. We need to know. We need an update.

Sylvari should not be swept under the rug. We are in a limbo of not knowing whether the entire race is dying out. We don't know. We need to know.

A-net needs to learn that introducing a character and then killing them off for an emotional impact doesn't work as well when it's all during the same storyline you can complete in less than a day. Because they do this constantly.

And it's like "oh, neat, I think I kinda like this character...aaaaaand they're dead. Well, huh..." Is not the reaction they're going for but we don't spend enough time with the character for it to be anything else.

Charr cub. I always wished the Charr cubs had baby features rather than looking like adult miniatures in game with slightly larger paws. Like baby horns and kitten features and giant paws and giant heads. It would be cute.
