This is going to be controversial and mean but I need my fellow trans people to know that if you are not Native, your opinions on Two Spirit are NOT needed. Ever. Seriously.
Nobody needs your hot take about how actually Two Spirit is a transphobic label or how "third genders" in Native cultures are bad or whatever. You have not been invited to those conversations. Anything you have to say about Two Spirit and cultural genders and the treatment of trans people in Native communities is already being said by Two Spirit and/or trans Natives in ways that are far more respectful and more informed than whatever you have to offer.
I am so sick of seeing other trans people make blatant statements about how all "third gender" and cultural gender identities and roles are all bad or transphobic, by people who usually aren't even FROM a single culture with gender roles like that. It's exhausting.

i think a lot of white queer/trans people need to hear that "breaking gender norms" isnt just wearing a dress while masc or dying your hair. its also unlearning the beauty standards that impose ideals of white beauty and attractiveness on non-white folks. yes you have a nose ring but i just heard you tell your black friend with meticulously cared for natural hair "you'd just look so nice with straight hair is all im saying..." why does your blog fetishizing i mean uh. appreciating trans women only feature skinny white women who pass. when societal gender norms are so inextricably tied to whiteness and emulating whiteness it is not enough to simply change your aesthetic. you need to defy the gender norms in your own head too.

Found out a group of fifth graders are doing a school strike for the children in gaza and sitting outside their school all day with home made signs and banners and palestinian flags. We’re having an unusually warm spring, hot enough for it to be on the news, and those little kids are sitting outside in the heat for hours so I brought them lemonade and cut up a lot of watermelon, apples, and strawberries for them and a lot of other people have brought water, icecream, fruit, support etc. and now I’m extremely emotional on the bus home. Eleven year olds are braver than most of our politicians and so many adults. Children make me feel hopeful

btw if you haven't commented on it yet, the fda is taking comments on their proposed rule banning shock devices for autistic people at the judge rotenburg center. they are taking comments until may 28th.
asan wrote a good plain language guide on how to submit a comment if you are not sure what to do!
even just a few sentences saying this is a good rule will be enormously helpful. thank you!
