The problem between Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi
Gautam and Afridi can’t stand each other.
Gambhir and Afridi have been loggerheads since their first on-field exchange during the India vs Pakistan ODI in 2007.
Even after retirement, both the cricketers have not stopped criticizing each other.
In a fresh new attack, Afridi said that he likes Gambhir as a cricketer and as a batsman but he has some basic problem as a human being.
Besides that, Afridi also pointed out at the remarks made on Gambhir by former India conditioning coach Paddy Upton in his book.
Paddy Upton has written that “Using the popular notion of mental toughness, he was one of the weakest and mentally most insecure’ people I have worked with.”
The 2011 World Cup winner Gambhir had responded to the comments from Upton and said that, “I wanted myself and Indian team to be the best in the world.”
“That’s why I was not satisfied even after scoring 100 as it has been mentioned in Paddy’s book. I see nothing wrong there. As a driven individual, I have tried to raise the bar for myself alone”

Why were Pat Symcox and Boeta Dippenaar heavily criticized recently?
Racism is a hot topic, especially in South African cricket.
A couple of weeks ago, SA pacer Lungi Ndidi came out strongly in support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
In response, he was criticised by former cricketers, Pat Symcox, Brian McMillan and Boeta Dippenaar.
Dippenar had responded saying “all lives matter” and Ngidi should also talk about the death of white farmers in the country.
There was an immediate backlash.
Thirty eminent cricketers including Makhaya Ntini, Vernon Philander, Herschelle Gibbs, Ashwell Prince, JP Duminy and Paul Adams issued a joint statement.
“We commend Lungi Ngidi for supporting Black Lives Matter - and we’d like to add our support for it too. We note the criticism aimed at Lungi for expressing his views and we hope that Cricket South Africa (CSA), together with fellow cricketers - both present and past - will come out strongly in support of BLM,” read the statement which was published on ‘Sport24’.
“We note too that the most outspoken criticism directed at Ngidi has come via former players such as Pat Symcox, Boeta Dippenaar and Rudi Steyn and others, and we urge that their views be challenged.”

Which NZ cricketer has done a course in accounting and also builds apps?

That’s Jeet Raval, for you.
The New Zealand opener who played 24 tests with 1 century and an average of 30.
Hear it in his own words.
“I used to work with an accounting firm called BDO. I have a good relationship with them, but because of the nature of Covid-19, the workforce is limited, so the opportunity to go back and work isn't there. They are willing to get me back on board should an opportunity come about again.
Jeet is currently working on a cricket app and is looking at the technology and design aspect of it. With a team, he has spent a lot of time ideating, debating, coding, processing, developing it.
It is slated to launch in September.
We wish him all the best.

Why does Umar Akmal hate Mickey Arthur?

These 2 guys have a history.
In 2017, Umar Akmal was named in the Pakistani squad for ICC Champions Trophy. The team went to England along with Akmal but he was sent back from England after failing two fitness tests in two days.
Later that year, Akmal accused Mickey Arthur, Pakistan then Head Coach, for using abusive language and stopping him from using training facilities at National Cricket Academy while he was trying to get into the training facilities.
Akmal said: "I had gone to England for rehabilitation of my knee injury, after I recovered, I went to the NCA to start working on my fitness and training. But the coaching staff doesn't want to work with me at all. When I asked why all those international coaches didn't want to work with me, they responded that they wanted to prioritize working with players who had central contracts.”.
"I then went to talk to the chief selector (Inzamam ul Haq), but he referred me to Mickey Arthur. Arthur took me back to Inzi bhai's room and started scolding me and using bad language in front of Inzi bhai, which I found demeaning and insulting. It's not even my fault, and I find it painful that anyone should be allowed to swear at me. I accept my fitness isn't up to the mark, and I am trying to work on it, and I asked to be allowed a trainer to help me.”
