Before the war, we lived a simple but happy life in Gaza. Our home in Shujaiya wasn’t big or luxurious, but it was filled with peace, love, and comfort. We had our own land — a small garden where we planted vegetables, a roof where we sat on warm evenings drinking tea, laughing as a family. Our kids went to school every day with joy, dreaming about their future. We had work. We had neighbors we trusted. We had routines, family dinners, birthdays, laughter. Life wasn’t perfect, but it was ours. It was full of meaning.

The bombing started, and we had to flee our home during the first week of the war. We left everything behind — not knowing it would be the last time we would see our home standing. We first went to Rimal, hoping to be safer. That’s where we heard the news: our home, the place we built with love and hard work, was destroyed. Flattened. Just like that — gone. Everything we owned, everything we saved for, was buried under rubble.

After that, we kept running. From Rimal to Al-Zawaida. Then to Rafah. We’ve been displaced four times. Each time we carry less with us, but more pain. We sleep on floors. Sometimes there’s no roof. Sometimes we stay in tents. The nights are cold, the days are burning hot. There is no electricity, no clean water, no toilets, no privacy. We wait hours just to get a piece of bread. We lost our jobs, our income. We lost our safety, our dignity. We live in fear every day — fear of the next bomb, the next loss.

We used to dream of the future. Now, we just dream of surviving the next day.

We are the Anas family — like many families in Gaza — ordinary people who only wanted peace, a safe home, and a chance to live in dignity. But the war has taken everything from us: our home, our land, our jobs, our dreams, our stability… even our sleep.

It’s hard to write this. It's hard to ask for help. But we are desperate.

Please, if you are reading this, help us. Even a small donation could mean we sleep under a real roof again. Could help us buy medicine, food, or clean water. Could bring back a little dignity to our lives. If you cannot donate, please share this story. You might reach someone who can.

This is completely my fault for daring to open Instagram comments, but it's been really bothering me to see anyone get mad at the "chest scene" in The Summer Hikaru Died for, according to them, being "sexualized".

I hate the conflation of sexuality and sexualization. And I really think this has to do with the demonization of sexual desire or expression, especially that of non-heterosexual people.

The scene, along with a few others later on, demonstrate Yoshiki's conflicting feelings about this experience of "mixing" with Hikaru, which is a representative of sex or any other type of intimacy. It feels both good and "wrong" to him, which is a super relatable experience for many queer people expressing their desires or being intimate (in any way) with someone. The exploration of this is not "sexualized". Not everything having to do with sex or feelings is "sexualized".

Like Mokumokuren said in an interview, the scene is supposed to be both unnerving and erotic for Yoshiki. Describing this scene as "sexualized", which is usually used in these circles to mean "exploitative", is just wrong. It's not. What people really mean when they say this is "it makes me uncomfortable", or "I don't want to see it".

Maybe it's because these are English comments made by (mostly) Americans, and we're prude and conservative as hell about these topics. But there's a definite and underlying theme I've seen within these statements of simply being uncomfortable with queer expressions of intimacy or sexuality.

If your first instinct when seeing a non-explicit representation of queer sexuality and intimacy is to say "eww, why is this so sexualized?", then I encourage you to ask yourself what you really mean by that.

Mastercard and visa have reported to a couple news outlets that they are currently being swamped with calls and complaints. Keep up the pressure and try to (politely) insist that you leave a complaint via phone instead of letting the rep direct you to emails. Something that makes manipulative Will Graham so good, in my opinion, is that it's nothing like Hannibal's manipulativeness.

His manipulation technique is completely different, making it clear that this isn't something he took from Hannibal.

And what is his manipulation? Emotional. Hannibal focuses on psychological manipulation the most - messing with people's heads. But Will? Will pierces their hearts.

When he was crying to Alana and Hannibal asking for their help? That was him manipulating their emotions and their want for his friendship and trust. When he was trying to catch Hannibal he seduced him. He even does it with Matthew. He knows Matthew is interested in him so he plays into that and uses Matthew's crush to get him to kill someone.

I hate to go through this all over again. Last night, Itch.io, one of the most popular platforms for hosting queer and adult independent media, went through a large-scale crackdown on adult content.

This was primarily aimed at games, but novels and comics were hit in the process. Most adult content has been de-listed from the site's search, and some creators were banned without warning. Any funds banned creators have not been paid are currently being withheld by Itch.io.

This crackdown was done, as it always is, because of payment processors like Mastercard and Visa threatening to pull their services.

The payment processors caved to an influence campaign by Australian extremist anti-pornography group Collective Shout, who have been inundating Visa and Mastercard with calls to force video game platforms to stop hosting adult content - which, of course, includes anything queer.

Collective Shout claim to have sent in 1000 emails to get this result, but there are a WAY more than a thousand of us. We need as many people as possible to make as much noise as we can!
