I feel bad that I have to resort to this, but I need to make an income somehow I guess. I got laid off earlier this month and am still having trouble finding even minimum-wage work. In the meantime though, I still got bills and student loans to pay, so I'm taking on as much commission work as possible.

If you can't finish a book because its so boring and badly written and you're going to rate it in goodreads, for the love of the gods give it 1 star, unless its for a highly personal reason you can't finish it.

If a book is shit and shittily written to the point you can't finish it, that should be an automatic 1 star review.

Don't waste people's time by leaving 4 star ratings on a book you absolutely hate and would never recommend anyone read on a purely technical level.

So you see there’s a man named Ethan Klein who has a little army of trolls who do not have an ounce of a life between them. One day Mr. Klein, that means Mr. Little btw, nice of his family name to match his penis size but I digress, one day Mr. Klein, as he often does, posted about a current event. Now. Unlike most people, Mr. Klein is incapable of doing so without sending a battalion of the most sludge-from-the-bottom-of-a-gutter types of people you’ll ever meet to harass someone he doesn’t care for.

This time, he made a post about a Mrs. Mikayla Raines who had recently committed suicide, and when it came out that she had allegedly killed herself due to harassment, oh you can bet his little troop of demons went to digging. These demons have a subreddit, if you’ve ever heard of a YouTuber named Destiny, there’s mysteriously a large overlap there in terms of who participates, but that’s a tale for another night.

The thing about the subreddit is, those no-life ghouls will work tirelessly to find people, doxxing is their life’s work. They love to track people down and take them down tooth and nail, so they searched and they searched for anyone who had ever spoken on Mikayla Raines out of the side of their mouth, and see this is where things get tricky.

Back in the year of our lord 2022, I had discovered Mrs. Raines, alive and well at the time mind you, and as someone with years of experience working with wildlife, her videos gave me pause. Overweight foxes that she was constantly e-begging for more dog food to feed them (not an appropriate diet for foxes btw), snatching jackal pups from their mother almost immediately after birth so she could imprint them onto humans and make them into better pets (jackals have complex social dynamics and have difficulty adjusting to things if they’re raised away from their parents, worth noting the jackals were not rescues, her husband bought them from an unknown breeder as a gift), buying random exotics as pets such as her fennec (fennecs do not make ethical house pets, and she let the fox free-interact with domestic pets and other species of fox, all of which put a lot of stress on a fennec), and many more issues became noticeable the longer I looked. So I posted my findings, because I was astonished to find very few people questioning things.

Three years later, Mr. Klein’s demons excavate that post and conclude that I was the one who lead a harassment campaign against her and caused her to take her own life. This has been disproven by statements given by people who knew her and have instead said that her death was largely due to someone she knew personally and who had a vendetta against her, but demonkind doesn’t care for the truth. They aren’t here because they care about Mikayla, they’re here because ruining lives gives them a thrill. Since my profile has extremely limited information about me and they can’t track me down, they’re hoping to deplatform me (hilarious concept on tumblr genuinely, but these are redditors and they don’t know clout means nothing here) or make me kill myself.

So yeah, that’s what’s been happening.

like i am absolutely not denying the community at large has some serious problems with transmisogyny that are unacceptable and need to be dealt with. but this isnt dealing with it. all this is is the statement that you believe "not being misgendered" and "not being called slurs" are privileges and not rights, and that you get to revoke those privileges whenever you see fit. you think targeted bigotry is an acceptable punishment for bad behavior

"cuntboy" is only shorthand for "transmisogynistic" if you believe the state of being a boy and having a cunt makes one inherently bigoted. same for "theyfab", with the fun bonus of misgendering. you can just say "transmisogynistic"

this is usually where i would say i wonder how long itll take the people peddling this shit to make the jump to "some poc deserve to be called racial slurs". i would say that, if i didnt know they already had. thats the reason my asks are no longer open and never will be again. this line of thought directly empowers white people to call a brown guy racial slurs because they decided i deserved it, and its insane that some of you dont see a problem with that
