There is something watching Gideon as he goes on his excursion to find new land for the business' taking. That something is very large, looming alongside the trees and likely rivaling them in age also, simply watching, waiting. He's seen this boy before, and cannot help but wonder what on earth he could have come for again. If anyone has come hither, it has normally been only once — the only repeat comers are typically animals.

There's that feeling again. Like he's being watched... he knows these woods housed magical beings beyond the comprehension of normal folks, but Gideon is prepared. His journal is in hands as he turns and scans the tree line, but there's... nothing there?

He doesn't have time to waste on this nonsense, he has somewhere to be. Something to find.

Fingers tap impatiently on the cover on the book. It has to be around here somewhere. And then he notices something not quite right... that doesn't look much like a tree trunk, unless they grew differently out here. His eyes travel up until he finally sees it. Something big, looming in the trees, staring right at him.

He jumps with a scream, dropping the book, and falls backwards onto the ground.

"W-what ARE you?!" he shouts.

"I'm not lookin' for suggestions! Especially not from YOU, girl." Gideon eyes her up and down. For a family stuck on priding themselves on good looks, she's got a long way to go.

He winks, pressing a little finger against his little cheek to show he means no harm.

And then as soon as he gets the information he needs out of the boy and turns around, his expression immediately sours. If playing nice with Dipper Pines wins Mabel's favor, so be it.

He's got a lovely present for his lady friend, tucked away in his sleeve. "Happy birthday, Ma... bel?" He enters the living room... but she's not there, and all that crosses his mind is sabotage.

"Why, Dipper Pines, you honestly think a widdle guy like me has bad intentions? I'm just wishin' my friend happy birthday!"

"So, uh... friend, where's my sweet sunshine Mabel? I want to wish her a happy birthday, too!"

Well, would you look at that? Now, he's not in any hurry to discard his tried and true, but this ought to be better than nothing. His perfect hair is already starting to droop from lack of product! It's downright embarrassing.

"Pure Man hairspray? Never heard of it before." He's turning the can over in his hands, scrutinizing the label.

"An' you mean to tell me this'll keep my hair lookin' flawless for at least the next eighteen hours?"

"What does a guy have to do to get some decent hair products around here? I can't go out there looking like this!"

More Gideon / Bill team ups, honestly. I want him to think he's in charge, but Bill is pulling the strings ( OR Gideon realizing he's been had and turning on Bill on his own accord because NOBODY tells little Gideon what to do )

Gideon uses his ' psychic abilities ' and ends up so wrong about something and has to play it off, or it'll ruin his image

Gideon redemption arc / the summer after the show where he's becoming a genuine person but still has a way to go. Actual friendships with the Pines / Pacifica / kids his age

Honestly, I think the telekinesis he had in that one episode was cool, I want him to use it more ( for evil )

Boy, what did you do to your mom / forming an actual genuine relationship with his parents ??? ( I dont know if anyone writes either of the Gleeful parents but if you did... 👀 )

Imagine if you will, Dipper and Mabel come back one summer, and Gideon has had a growth spurt (he's going to be tall like his dad). They say goodbye to this tiny kid, and when they see him again, he's taller than they are and absolutely thriving as he not so subtly throws it in Dipper's face (it's a healthy rivalry, but he definitely gets joy out of doing it), especially considering all of the Pines are pretty short.

Gideon stares at the old man for a solid three seconds before he starts laughing.

"Well, well, what's all this? You're gettin' senile in your old age!" He doubles over, slapping his knee. "An' I considered you a threat!"

Woo-wee! He wipes a tear from his eye. "Step aside, old man, this is a young man's game!"

"The Pines Family would'a been fine without all these twins. I mean, after one kid, what's the point? Just makes everyone's lives a little bit harder."

"Oh, Heavens to Betsy!"

He did NOT think anyone was out here. But he looks Stanford up and down as his expression sours, "well, if it isn't Stanford Pines. Mighty big words to be usin' for a simple minded man like yourself!"

Clearly, the kid must be mistaken. He thinks he's talking to Stanley, coming to defend his little niece and nephew. It'd be real sweet if they weren't the cause of his frustration.

I love Gideon's redemption arc as much as the next guy, but I'm also kind of obsessed with him being a manipulative little brat whose behavior is reinforced by his dad's lax parenting style so this blog is going to take place mainly in the canon timeline (aka the summer the twins come to visit)
