i wanted to make a list of island themes i thought would be fun to try or see other people try to create.

mermaid (beach homes, shell items for landscaping)

nautical (red and blue, small beach town)

tropical (palm trees, hibiscus bushes, bright flowers)

victorian (old furniture, poofy dresses)

minimalist (only one type of flower, minimal interiors)

elements (water, fire, earth, air)

steampunk (mechanical items, vintage items)

i’m tired of vaguing about it. watching you people post about and idolize bts is the most irritating thing and even more because i’m black. everyone knows they’re racist. it’s fucking known that the leader has said the n word. it’s known they’ve worn cornrows and have been called cool when we’re called dirty and ghetto. it’s known that they’ve appropriated our culture multiple times. not to mention that photoshoot. and it’s even worse because i know y’all act like they’re all pure n shit (which is a whole other type of racist stereotype) and then turn around and call us scary and ghetto. and on top of this? stop using aave. i’m especially tired of being told i sound like a kpop stan because i use language my community created.

You know what’s sad, before I even read this article I was ready to refute this because I grew up believing Chuck Berry created Rock and roll. It’s said how so many knew of this great woman yet none spoke on her greatness.

I also discovered Big Mama Thornton, who’s another hugely influential early inventor of rock and roll — I’m pretty sure Hound Dog was originally popularized by her, before Elvis stole it.

The country currently has only 500 ventilators and only 700 intensive care unit beds.

More then 30 of 41 major U.N. programs are going to close in the next few weeks if additional funding isn’t made available.

They have had to halt health services for women giving birth in 150 hospitals.

2 million children under 5 suffer from acute malnutrition.

Due to COVID-19, 7 million children are out of school.

Due to the war in Yemen at least half of it’s medical facilities have been rendered dysfunctional while dealing with the worst cholera outbreak in modern times with 110,000 cases as of April.

As of May 30, 2020, only 2,678 people out of 28 million Yemenis have been tested.

What’s going on in Yemen is heartbreaking.

Let’s work together to help stop it.
