I’m considering coming out to my family as non-binary, and so today I brought up the subject of non-binary gendering/transgendering with my Dad as a casual conversational topic. He’s told me that if somebody is born a boy then they “should stay a fucking boy” and not trans to a girl or be a boy some days/girl other days/genderless other days.

I told him that I think gender identity should be something one can choose for themselves, and he says that nobody thinks like that and anybody who is trans/non-binary will just be shunned by every member of society they meet. He doesn’t think that people support n-b/t communities, because he doesn’t. He says to me that not staying one’s natural gender is wrong and against the point of being born a boy/girl.

Every person who reblogs this will have their URL written in a full-size writing book and when it is full I will show it to my father to illustrate to him the amount of people who believe that being non-binary is a valid gender identity.

I suggested bees for an ace symbol but… Hm… If bees are already bi culture, then I don’t wanna accidentally infringe on anything. (As a biromantic person, I can fully see bees being bi culture, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were!)

So instead of bees, why not wasps as ace culture?

Think about it:

+ people think of both aces and wasps as unfeeling

+ some wasps are solitary (aces who don’t want a romantic partner and/or aroace people) and some are social (aces who do want a romantic partner and/or acealloro people)

+ the color black is both on wasps and the ace flag

+ wasps, just like aces, are all over the world

+ similar to how ace headcanons are ignored in favor of “better/cooler sexualities,” wasps are often ignored in favor of “better/cooler insects”

+ legally allowed to sting, which is pretty heckin cool

+ wasps are similar but not exactly the same as hornets, like how asexuality is similar but not exactly the same as aromanticism. Solidarity!

+ wasps have stereotype of stinging, but some don’t! (Like how aces have a stereotype of not having sex, but some do!)

+ opportunity for bee bi/wasp ace solidarity

Operation Illicit Picnic

I’ve noticed that in the past a lot of kids/young people get dropped off at conventions with either a) no money for food b) no way to get to food or c) both, and as a person who grew up at cons, I know just how thankful I was that someone would give me a slice of pizza or even offer to buy me chicken nuggets, and this year at #mtac I want to change that!

If you’re over 16 and you’re interested in helping out, I intend to set up a folding table and canopy at a predetermined area at the con, and bascially hand out free pizza/snacks to people who don’t have a way to get anything else, and as you can assume, this is going to be hectic! If you want to help, please message me, and we can talk about what we need in terms of manpower ;-;

If you’re UNDER 22 and you know you won’t be able to buy con food/bring money/be able to leave, I will be cosplaying trickster Dirk that saturday, with a sign that says ‘no lunch money? talk to us!“ along with my friend who will be dressed as Karkat. I’m not going to check your wallet, I’m going to go by the honor system, and you deserve to only have to worry about your cosplay, and NOT how you haven’t eaten all day.

In addition, I will be cosplaying godtier Dirk and (TBD) the other days, and making lunch runs! If you want to give me money to go buy you something from McDonald’s, or you don’t have money, let me know! I’ll have snacks and drinks on hand for you so you as well, so if you get hungry, just look for the asshole in kamina shades.
