And, I usually don't get personal on this account, but I want to mention something. I was going to share the GIF with my mom today, as a fun way to say "Happy Mother's Day!" We've exchanged many delightful GIFs over the years.

However, she passed away a couple of months ago, surrounded by loving family members. I was grateful to be with her, and I'm grateful that we'll see each other again someday.

DuckTales says family is the greatest adventure of all. Appreciate every step of that adventure while you still can.

I love when fanfic authors are freakishly unhinged. "Yes, hello, I am here to write a heart wrenching story about relationships and mortality. My medium is Ducktales (2017)"

Okay so there’s this story where Zé gets a telegram from his cousin “Zé Gringo” who is coming to visit from the United States, and his immediate reaction after thinking it must be a joke is:

“If it’s true, it won’t cost to ask for a little help from the first world cousin…”

And like. I dunno this just got me thinking, what if when José and Donald first met José went in with the intention of getting some money from the interaction?

Like “oh look, an american tourist, maybe if i’m nice to him and flatter him and show him nice places in town i’ll get out of this with some easy dollar money” (extra chance of that happening if, by any chance, José knows of Scrooge and finds out Donald is his nephew, since if his uncle’s loaded this guy must be loaded too)

I dunno, i feel this would have the potential to be very funny overall and feature some fun shenanigans as José takes Donald around Rio while having to actively avoid running into people he’s indebted to- That, and it could also be really sweet as they hang out more and actually do become friends over the course of Donald’s stay

Of all the villians in PKNA, Gorthan is my favorite and, on my eyes, the most fascinating. His job was to study Earth and conquer it, but it's beauty and culture caught him and make his develop feelings he was not supposed to have. This is not the story of "an actual kind soul is saved from an evil authority because of love", because he was neither a kind soul, nor was he saved. Loving Earth was more torturous than liberating. Developing emotion alienated him from his kind, turned him into a traitor. He was then, in a limbo between what he was, what he is supposed to be... and what he can never have.

Could he have been redeemed?

I don't know. It would take a lot of work and forgiveness. He did, after all, destroyed planets, and enslaved people... and even with all his charisma and that kindness he seems to have when speaking, he is not exactly a good guy.

But he is interesting.

guys a love donald duck rants and i need more

Ok so I've started reading the "Great Duck Mythology" and I have to say the retelling of Prometheus is my favourite so far. Whoever decided to star Donald Duck as Prometheus and Fethry as Epimetheus deserves a raise because it would be PERFECT for a greek mythology AU. I would never have thought about it myself but hear me out.

Donald is actually a really good pick to star as Prometheus. I mean isn't Prometheus's whole thing to defy authority to do what you believe is right? To choose what battles you want to fight and to be ready to bear the consequences of your choice? Prometheus knows he's going to get tortured by Zeus but still chooses to bring fire to mankind anyway. And that's sounds a lot like Don's characterisation in a lot of comics. Especially the PKNA and Doubleduck series. I mean Pk has defied the army, the PBI, the time-police and a few other organisation you aren't supposed to fuck with. (everyone hates him lmao) Yes, it was the right thing to do and yes, it was the only way to protect people. But it was also incredibly risky for him. And DD doesn't always agree with the Agency's action either. For example in one comic he lies and covers the track of a character so the Agency would believe he was dead. The guy was a good person but one that knew too many secrets to be free. And that was a HUGE risk for a guy DD had literally JUST MET.

2. I don't know that much about Epimetheus but, from what I've heard, the two titan brothers are very Donald and Fethry coded.

(Oh you just KNOW he's going to fuck this up.)

3. Continuing with the titan brothers (yes that's what they're called now, don't argue); Della would do great as Atlas- since Atlas is the personification of endurance and the creator of astronomy. And Gladstone.... can be Monoetius! I actually don't know anything about him other that he's arrogant and that he managed to piss of Zeus enough to get personally zapped by lightning before getting sent to Tartarus and so, obviously he's Gladstone! :) Listen I love Gladstone but he can be really annoying.

That way you get to have a fun au AND still keep the canon family issues 😀. Instead of the Spear of Selene you have the Titanomachy! Yay! Family issues for everybody!!!

4. So Prometheus is eventually freed and the eagle is killed. By whom you ask?

Freaking. Hercules.

No, but tell me you see it. Storkules and Prometheus Duck. That would actually be so fucking funny.

Anyways, that's why I think a greek mythology AU with the duck cousins as the titan brothers would be interesting, cool, and incredibly funny. Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Right now, famine is hitting us harder than ever, my heart cries whenever I go to the market to buy any basic necessities! The prices are crazy, and most days my children survive on just bread Hunger and thirst are destroying us, and cooking on fire increases our suffering unbearably! Severe eye and chest sensitivity, in addition to constant stomach pain due to the type of food and the way it is cooked.

All this while we flee from one place to another in fear of bombing, bullets, and imminent danger! I cannot describe what I feel, but it is a feeling beyond exhaustion!
