His brow began to knit at her proposal because that definitely was not the answer he’d been expecting to hear. He didn’t have much time to dwell on it, though. The two vamps flanking him were beginning to move in on him, teeth bared and pupils dilated wide. He kicked the one to his right square in the stomach and used his machete to saw into the other one’s neck — blood gushing everywhere as he began to apply force. Compared to what he was used to dealing with, hunting vamps was almost a piece of cake. Their moves were predictable and the intensity of their bloodlust tended to make them sloppy. Maybe he didn’t need Dean here after all.

Grabbing the fang that the man had shoved, Ainsley bared her fangs, burying them into the vampire’s neck, tearing through. Blood saturating her mouth, she spat as she finally felt the body separate from the head. It was entirely apparent by this point that her intended kill was a hunter. The two were dead. The girl, from what Ainsley could tell, had fled. At least she was safe. She went to turn and face her partner, but felt the cold steel of a blade collar her throat.

“You’d be better served to find that child...”

He didn’t mean to snap at the stranger, but he’d never been very good  when it came to dealing with pain… a surprise, considering how often  he’d found himself in this situation in recent years.

     A snort.

Surprised by his rather unabashed approach to this situation, she cocked an eyebrow. There were many different creatures  she had come across in this life, but none so brazen as to openly admit immortality. Assessing the situation, she offered a hand.

    “Well... perhaps you deserved it.”

leaning back, she cleaned the blood from her lips. savoring each bit as if it were sweet syrup. a single feed could sate her for at least the next month. she was nearly tempted to let him run... only to drag him back.

Feet protruding from shadow in the alley. Curiosity always her enemy.  The ferrous smell of blood heavy in the air. And yet, there was a subtle difference. A groan from the man. Impatience and the growing need to suppress her hunger.
