Long ago, a woman of lower standing married a King in hopes that her daughter, Amadea, would become the next in line for the throne. However, her schemes were thwarted by her own husband's younger and fragile daughter, the Princess Ráðhildur. Enraged, she curses the princess to live as a songbird forevermore.
