yknow CJ, i know damn well no matter what happens theres a good chance juuust enough people will stick around to keep the site alive assuming you aren't willing to keep it up at a loss, but like, at what cost? its VERY possible to keep the site running but just not be the face. you have proven time and time again that you're petty and vindictive and can't keep your cool.
but that's not what you want. you want to be king of the castle in your own playground. you want respect and adoration from the people around you, beneath you. i can respect the fact you've outright said it here, but the fact is keeping that mindset set you up for failure and you will never be able to recover from that. the people who are most happy playing your game are the people who have literally never paid attention to you beyond a surface level. to my knowledge, THAT is how the most successful sites operate. familiarity breeds contempt.
just look at yourself. look at THIS. who does this? what business owner says things like this and expects people to just take it? this isnt a just a small indie passion project, emphasis on passion project. this hasn't been your personal playground for a long time. not since you started taking money from people while making huge promises. get over yourself. grow up.

Well I hate to break it to you Santae is the game I created. I’ve also loved every session with my therapist. I just refuse to allow a select few make me think differently about my creation, 15 years of work. I’m sorry you think opposite but we aren’t a corporation I’m a real person. You respond in a way that is beyond hurtful and expect no response and silence. I’m not going to be run off from my game. Please don’t forget I created Santae for myself to play away from every other site that had not so nice folks on there. I’ve allowed yall to take away my ability to just hang out with the community I built, randomly gift members, help during events playing the game when I’ve done it since day one and was never an issue till the ones with constant accusations or something we didn’t do right. Now, I’m to the point of you can do it better and faster I challenge you to do just that. I can also say 3 staff members have seen everything I’ve had planned out for years for Santae before AI and it’s more than you could ever imagine.
How could you say quit the game I built, my childhood dream, I busted my ass to earn as much money as I could and I funneled every single bit into Santae. Long before I could find the first person interested in helping with backend or frontend let alone content. You all see Santae how it has been since alpha. You weren’t there for over a year working on Santae uploading, configuring, developing features for Santae. I worked 12 - 24 hour shifts while doing Santae at the same time.
Who could run Santae, who knows the story, assets, plots, future pets and colors, NPCs, rpg aspect, Birthsigns? Sure I have it all written down. But it’s easier to say that and have no genuine reason other then some hate blog you picked some negative energy up on at, to be rude or disrespectful. I sincerely hope nobody ever wishes you quit your dreams.
But I refuse to allow anyone to bully me anymore, member, non-member, irl, This is my game and I deserve to enjoy it too. I promise you, you’d feel the same.
I’ve proved I wasn’t lying, I was called unprofessional but before that I was a liar about that something I knew I wasn’t and nobody believed me when I never gave anyone a reason not to and people quit playing hurting the game even more! I came forward with AB utilizing ai software to make a mash up board like she did when finding images on google. You can see this in a screenshot. I’ve asked them to respond publicly they refuse, their only statement was the one I shared how it’s not their fault if nobody believes me they are 100% drawn.
Again, please know I’m a real person, with emotions and work on something for 15 years and you do your absolute best and it always feels like you’ve falling short sometime or another.
There is so much negativity or this needs redone or you did this wrong. Or like today the complete incorrect item being blasted by multiple people so I showed screenshots from The last 3 variations, it’s overwhelming. We only have one programmer, and I’m not going to speak ill of them or any staff

Setting the Record Straight
I’ve stayed quiet for a long time. Too long.
Every single piece of art, line of code, and moment of story has been created by real human beings who care deeply about this project and the community around it.
Let’s be absolutely clear: None of Santae’s artwork is AI-generated. Not now. Not ever.
We made the ethical choice over nine months ago to ensure our pipeline was 100% human-created, and we’ve stood by that decision ever since.
The artwork currently being falsely labeled as AI was created by LoreMonsterStudios / A.B. Feester, a contracted artist, who used and stated, “I used this because it’s faster than google” So that made sense to me. However, as Alpha went on the AI questions started, and I defended them, and would send them to AB, and every time she would say she drew it 100%. We’ve reached out to them multiple times for clarification. Nowhere in our agreement did it state that AI tools would be used. But it also didn’t state they wouldn’t be used. Back in 2019 there was not AI, I learned about AI from AB in Dec/Jan of 23/24 and at first thought it was really neat. Until I was educated how it was developed and created and how it works, from that point we changed our policy, and AB still said she drew them, so we continued to defend them. When users started showing the drawing over the inspiration image and some were almost identical, I can’t put into words how stupid I felt and how used I felt. I haven’t heard from her since then and I’ve asked multiple times to speak to her or address these claims publicly.
We decided to re-draw every asset she did for the sake of integrity and to do the best for the site as some were very similar but others were completely different. She took 80 of my characters/OCs/Comms from previous years of coming up with them and did this. I asked her at least 4 times as the shading kept changing what she was doing different, I’m no artist I just assumed she was doing better. I was working 100-hour weeks I barely was awake sometimes and the Content Manager was the one running things at this time. If the assets were created by AI and it was 100% confirmed there would be chargebacks occurring, as that is theft basically. I worked so much because I wanted to be able to pay artist what they felt was fair and until all the underpay accusations every single artist said they were fine with the pay or at least to me and the leads. The work was presented to us with process videos and visual walkthroughs. I trusted it was authentic. But I’ve worked too hard to let one bad order and me not paying attention and just going with it on autopilot ruin Santae’s name.
I do want to make it clear we will not tolerate are defamatory posts, slanderous accusations, and the continued harassment of innocent artists who had nothing to do with this situation. Artists like Whixy, ErmineLeader, Ggio, Keshi, and many others have been publicly attacked, accused of using AI, and had their hard work insulted. These are real people, doing real work, they do not deserve that, they deserve better.
Another rumor I see frequently: “They took the money and ran.”
Let’s Walk through the actual numbers.
• $106,000 was pledged through Kickstarter.
• $14,700 of that was never collected due to canceled or failed pledges.
• 12.25% went to Kickstarter and Stripe fees.
• That left roughly $91,300. After taxes (around 30% at the business rate), we were left with approximately $55,000 net. In October of 2024 we received the payout, taxes in January. However there was also 12,000$ put into the Kickstarter before it launched. Out of my own pocket to get it ready.
• Artist pay has been doubled since our Kickstarter to ensure fair compensation.
• And no I have not taken a paycheck from any of this. Not one cent. I’ve been living off my own savings and 401k since October 2023, working full-time to deliver on every promise made.
So, when people say I’m “running off with the funds,” I ask you to look at the work and look at the site. Look at the dozens of systems, NPCs, pets, minimals, festivals, events, quests, UI upgrades, and everything else already live or in progress. That work speaks louder than any rumor ever could.

I’ve watched and the team has as well watched for over a year as lies spread like wildfire, driven in part by individuals with personal grudges, beginning with a former staff member who manipulated our team, disrupted communication, and ultimately tried to charge me $40,000+ in fabricated late fees off a 250$ invoice. Since their removal, we’ve seen targeted campaigns and private DMs being selectively leaked and weaponized that were sent to them and you guessed it, often out of context to of course fuel more negativity.
We’ve been told “don’t say anything,” “don’t respond,” “it will die down.”
But silence has only made it worse. So, this is us saying: we see what’s being said and we won’t let it define us anymore.
Santae is more than just a website. It’s a labor of love, built by a small but dedicated team of artists, writers, coders, and volunteers. People just like you, people who work late nights, double shifts, and weekends to keep bringing you new content all while working another job as well. People who do this, do this not because it’s easy, but because they love it. Because we believe in Santae.
What We’ve Delivered So Far
• Every single “Design a Tier” Kickstarter reward is completed — except the final npc, which is in the sketching phase.
• Pets, New Themes, Crafting, minimals, items, and avatars have been released.
• Major systems like the Trades System, Banking, Mining, Sanctuary, Resurrection Machine, Crafting Mechanic, Pet Backgrounds, along with Mystic Adventure, Leveling, Skill Trees, Tutorials, Divine Quests, and more are actively being worked on and tested.
• Multiple festivals have launched successfully.
• All of this in under one year.
We’re still in development. That’s never been hidden. But we are growing, progressing, and hitting every milestone the best we can.
We welcome feedback. We welcome criticism. We do not welcome harassment, slander, or bullying.
We are not perfect. We’ve made mistakes. But we are committed to learning, growing, and making Santae the magical, safe, welcoming space it was always meant to be.
Behind every username on our staff is a real person with a life, a story, and a heart. Just like you.

A Letter to CJ, from Santae Staff
First and foremost, I'd like to establish this as an attempt made in good faith to advocate for the better treatment of all current and future members of the Santae staff and community. I have nothing to gain from this personally--everything that follows is shared only in the interest of transparency, and the choice to do so now is my own.
At the time of the recent walkout on March 4th, 2025, CJ was presented with a letter. This letter was drafted with the assistance of multiple established staff members for two reasons: to address recurring behaviors that were unanimously considered inappropriate and unprofessional, and to provide an exhaustive list of adjustments and changes required to better the team going forward. The intent was always to bring light to these issues, and encourage growth from within by supporting any efforts made to resolve them.
Instead, the few changes that were implemented while I was still an Admin were inconsistent and poorly executed; CJ's behavior remains unchanged, and he has stated outright that he is unwilling to entertain any further negotiations. Without anyone present to hold him accountable, it's likely that this will get brushed aside as unnecessary drama, and the cycle will continue.
Unfortunately, as of writing this, the majority of those aware of the letter are no longer staff. Given CJ's active resistance and overall failure to honor promises made to his own team, making its contents public feels like the most effective way for me to ensure that everyone's effort hasn't been in vain.
As always, I wish Santae and its community all the best.

Dear Management Head CJ, The present letter has the objective of opening communications regarding a series of events within the Santae Workspace. We as members of the Staff Team want to make an official petition to take these statements into consideration and open discussions to improve the workplace environment we have come to appreciate, all in order to continue making possible the growth of Santae.
Recently, we as staff members of Santae Entertainment have witnessed and experienced interactions that have been deemed as inappropriate or unprofessional. These interactions extend to staff members in Front-End and Back-End positions.
In order for us to continue providing service to Santae, we require an immediate acknowledgement and addressal of these eventualities, including a plan of action and the management of our workspace.
Issues of Note
Included are the concerns that Staff Members of diverse roles have reported not being handled in an appropriate manner for a work environment sharing the ideals of kindness, safety and unity as established by Santae. It is our hope that the acknowledgement of said events will open an opportunity to improve relations and foster a safe and professional environment for all Santae Staff Team members.
A. Frequent occasions of speaking ill or inappropriately about current and previous staff, site users and/or situations utilizing the designated Staff Server Voice Calls. As well as distasteful content being displayed in the shared Work Space, despite the vocalization of discomfort from multiple Staff Members.
Conversations on official Staff communication channels must remain professional and respectful, projecting an image of unity, while being mindful about social and historical backgrounds, ethnicity, race, identity and current sensitive global issues.
B. Concerns not being met with a professional or empathetic response, on the contrary, implying that expressing their uneasiness would foster an unsafe work environment, ultimately leading to members of the Staff feeling unheard. This is accompanied by the relaying of unclear terms, rules and regulations for Staff Team members that contradict or imply previous statements on said rules.
As Santae fosters values such as kindness, empathy and compassion, these same values must be represented within the private Staff spaces in order to create a safe work environment for every individual. Communication is essential for the best performance of their employees and therefore the correct functioning of the Santae Entertainment site both in private and public spaces.
C. Incidences of Staff and Users feeling that Management has previously or is currently utilizing resources, information, status or vulnerabilities in a way that elicits the individual into an emotional or moral disadvantage to argue or discuss issues openly. On a similar note, instances of Management insisting on conducting private conversations with Staff and Users after a discussion has been settled in public.
In order to promote a secure and equitable work environment, external factors to disagreements and conversations should not be taken into account unless specifically relevant to the resolution of said discussion. In a similar manner, private or sensitive information pertaining to any Staff member or User should not under any circumstances be distributed, displayed or relayed to any other Staff member or User without the former individual’s expressed written consent. As for an appropriate usage of the designated Staff communication channels, requesting private dialogue between staff without a mediator cannot be insisted on when it is expressed they are unwilling.
D. An incident involving multiple Staff Team members participating in an unrestricted Voice Call channel being spoken to in a manner that was deemed as disrespectful and severely harsh while in the presence of unrelated Staff Team members that were allowed to join the aforementioned call unimpeded, leading to shame and a posterior fearful environment.
We believe this to be the lead cause of reflection upon the conducts observed in Santae Entertainment’s workplace across an extended period of time, motivating the need to elicit change in order to keep operating in the most efficient, professional and adequate manner moving forward. Ideally, communications must be kept in a tone and volume that conveys respect in an omnidirectional way, benefiting the resolution of misunderstandings, mishaps and misinformation.
Suggestions and Future Improvements
The present Santae Staff cherishes the fellowship within its members, including that of the Management Head, and trusts that there is opportunity in hardship, guiding us in the search for a safer environment in which many of us find home. While changes are needed in order to improve current working conditions, the Santae Staff team is open and willing to collaborate in the proposition, development and implementation of the needed and/or requested measures written on this document or otherwise proposed by the Management Head, thus perpetuating the family values that Santae Entertainment holds as its core tenets.
The introduction of an HR Manager who acts as a mediator and impartial party between Staff and Head Management. Santae Staff will propose an interim HR Manager until a new, completely impartial external individual can be hired as fitting for both the Head Management and Staff requirements. We believe that a neutral ground would facilitate communications in the events of announcements, controversies, changes in reglament, management of Staff and resources, as well as scheduling and planification.
Reduce unnecessary private correspondence with Staff and Users, unless actively and enthusiastically consented to. Personal conflict should be handled through the HR Manager, who will arrange conversations between the appropriate Department Lead, the team Member/User, and Head Management. It is to be respected if any or both parties request a Mediator present in conversations taking place, all in order to ensure a secure, fair and respectful dialogue between both parties. This, at the same time, will foster a feeling of trust between all members of the Santae Staff Team.
Cease all distribution, relaying or display of private or sensitive information of any individual without their explicit written consent. This requirement is specially insisted upon as it is protected under various Data Protection Laws, including Federal US Law. We have trust that is in Santae Entertainment’s best interest to comply with such requirements.
Avoid introducing mentions of actions done magnanimously, status or vulnerabilities in irrelevant conversations on unrelated topics. With the objective of keeping communications clear and leveraged for all Staff members, it is important that the focus is kept on priority issues during conversations and discussions, separating personal and professional relationships in a healthy way.
All Staff and Management members must be addressed and referenced to in a respectful manner in all public channels and in private correspondence with other Staff Members. While we understand the existing trustworthy treatment between Staff members, it is important to remain cordial towards all individuals that are and have formed part of the Santae Staff team.
Staff Members should always operate in the chain of command in relation to official matters, unless there is a conflict with the direct next member of the chain, in which case they should address the next highest member in the chain. Management must allow Department Leads to operate as needed with only the necessary interference. This ensures that only verified and clear information is relayed between Departments and between members, avoiding miscommunication, controversies or escalating problematics.
Advances or bonus on Staff payment should be written and agreed to, signed by Santae Entertainment LCC and the next participating party. A signed agreement will ensure the safety of both parties and establish a reference point for future transactions.
Management is encouraged to allow an open, public conversation for Staff Members to discuss and suggest improvements to the structure and culture of the Santae Staff Team, with no fear of retaliation or punishment. We believe that great things are built in collaboration, and the unity Santae has projected in past occasions can shine again in the face of adversity.
We, as Santae Entertainment LCC Staff members, officially and formally request that these terms are met and that a betterment of the work environment is progressed upon in order to continue providing services by Front-End, Back-End, and other diverse Staff, some of which have preferred to remain anonymous. While we have trust that Management Head will take these claims into consideration as it is representative of Santae Entertainment’s core values, failure to hold this agreement on course would constitute a relapse of the previously stated consequences. We believe that the most appropriate way of addressing the present in order to keep transparency and trust is through a public written statement or action of similar fashion, avoiding the usage of unrecorded Voice Calls or private, unmediated channels.
We extend a sincere thanks while we work together to sort this issue.

This requirement is specially insisted upon as it is protected under various Data Protection Laws, including Federal US Law. We have trust that is in Santae Entertainment’s best interest to comply with such requirements.
Avoid introducing mentions of actions done magnanimously, status or vulnerabilities in irrelevant conversations on unrelated topics. With the objective of keeping communications clear and leveraged for all Staff members, it is important that the focus is kept on priority issues during conversations and discussions, separating personal and professional relationships in a healthy way.
All Staff and Management members must be addressed and referenced to in a respectful manner in all public channels and in private correspondence with other Staff Members. While we understand the existing trustworthy treatment between Staff members, it is important to remain cordial towards all individuals that are and have formed part of the Santae Staff team.
Staff Members should always operate in the chain of command in relation to official matters, unless there is a conflict with the direct next member of the chain, in which case they should address the next highest member in the chain. Management must allow Department Leads to operate as needed with only the necessary interference. This ensures that only verified and clear information is relayed between Departments and between members, avoiding miscommunication, controversies or escalating problematics.
Advances or bonus on Staff payment should be written and agreed to, signed by Santae Entertainment LCC and the next participating party. A signed agreement will ensure the safety of both parties and establish a reference point for future transactions.
Management is encouraged to allow an open, public conversation for Staff Members to discuss and suggest improvements to the structure and culture of the Santae Staff Team, with no fear of retaliation or punishment. We believe that great things are built in collaboration, and the unity Santae has projected in past occasions can shine again in the face of adversity.
We, as Santae Entertainment LCC Staff members, officially and formally request that these terms are met and that a betterment of the work environment is progressed upon in order to continue providing services by Front-End, Back-End, and other diverse Staff, some of which have preferred to remain anonymous. While we have trust that Management Head will take these claims into consideration as it is representative of Santae Entertainment’s core values, failure to hold this agreement on course would constitute a relapse of the previously stated consequences. We believe that the most appropriate way of addressing the present in order to keep transparency and trust is through a public written statement or action of similar fashion, avoiding the usage of unrecorded Voice Calls or private, unmediated channels.
We extend a sincere thanks while we work together to sort this issue.

ok god i need to take a break from script writing to fucking analyze this. im genuinely amazed how cj so consistently fails at being normal about feedback because he decides to be dismissive instead.
>"Let’s just see how we have it planned before asking the what ifs" passive aggressive and completely shuts down the person asking the question. this makes people not want to ask you questions about things. i know people can be annoying when asking questions, but if you do this enough times, people will decide they don't like you and don't want to spend money on your game anymore!
alternatives to that could have been: "We're currently still working out the specifics, but we'll share details on this as soon as we can!" does it answer anything? no, but people are generally more receptive to polite non-answers than rude ones. you can even use your beta deflection here too if you're clever enough!
>"That's not the right way to look at it." straight up controlling. i'll give him credit for not outright saying "you're wrong" since i bet he REALLY wanted to, but it doesn't change the fact that's what it boils down to. you can't control people's first impressions of things. you can respond to them, but what's done is done. telling someone they had the wrong thoughts on something that involves Real Life Money is asking for people to get pissed off.
an alternative to that could be: "This was not our intention." most neutral fucking statement anyone could say about anything. the rest of that message fits right in too don't you think? but i guess i can see how it implies you did fuck this up a bit on your end, so i see why it wouldn't cross your mind since you clearly can never do anything wrong ever.

We're supposed to be in beta so we'll understand if it changes some between telling us and it being implemented. CJ be transparent challenge (impossible)
