While we Star Wars fans are anxiously waiting for the bad batch finale, I could use your help! In fact...

I am currently in the process of writing my master's thesis. My research is about age & Star Wars characters. The research is trying to investigate whether there is a difference in fans of different ages liking or disliking certain characters that appear throughout Episodes 1-9. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete, is completely anonymous, and you must be 18+ to participate.

I told a stranger this little bit of advice earlier today and I think more people need to hear it: People not interacting with your work is a morally neutral thing, especially when you're just starting out.

Not getting the interaction you're wanting doesn't mean your work is inherently bad. Doesn't mean your stories are not worth the time to be heard. Doesn't mean you're incapable of growth.

Being a part of the comics community is less about trying to fit in and finding complete validation from others and more about building a space all your own and inviting others to join you. People will come and go but you're the one whose opinion and attention matters most. That space is gonna grow and change as you go through that but the thing is you've gotta put in the work to make it exist, and we all start somewhere.

Be kind to the present you, look forward to the future you, and be proud of what those two yous can make together.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1

The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.

So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.

So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.

Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.

And the probe is working again.

From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

What are your own views on the characteristics of a/b/o

Especially betas? I think the beta designation gets looked over a lot so I'm curious

I really think betas deserve more fic, more attention, and more cool instincts/features! I think exploring our own IRL concepts of gender via omegaphobia and stereotypes about which characters are alpha or omega simply be appearance or mannerisms is very interesting.

But yeah. Betas always have a soft spot in my a/b/o fics. They hold shit together. I like to think they're the final protectors of the nest after omegas, and therefore of pups. So they fight HARD and desperately.
