What if Alvin ends up being one of the very few that believe in Susie? Given his background, it's not unlikely that he's prone to superstition. Maybe he heard about the existence of dark worlds growing up but he didn't know for sure.

So when he found out that Susie and Kris were the last ones to be seen that night, he's initially upset about his church being wrecked. But once he finds the letter, it leaves him questioning whether this was a sick prank...or an act of something much bigger.

Susie then confirms his suspicions and not only is he relieved that it wasn't what he thought it was, he feels happy knowing that his father is doing okay.

I just had a light bulb go off in my head about a potential narrative idea that may or may not happen in the later DT chapters.

What if Rudy is meant to serve as a foil for Toriel? At least in terms of how they deal with spousal problems.

Think about it.

Toriel’s issue with Asgore is that he refuses to understand that the love they had is no longer there and any attempt to salvage it would only make it worse.

Is it possible that Rudy is dealing with the same thing except it’s more to do with Carol ignoring his help?

Marriage between the former had already failed while the latter is in the process of failing.

Both try to navigate the situation with their kids in ways that may not be effective because they’re having to rely on themselves and nobody else.

With the 5th chapter coming up, there’s probably gonna be a moment where Toriel addresses to Kris about last night and we get to see her true feelings come out, more than what we’re able to see previously. With Rudy, his affliction is gonna get so severe that he can no longer hide it from everybody, which will ultimately his change outlook on life including Asgore’s multiple attempts at rekindling his relationship.

You may ask why am I saying all of this.

What if the solution is inverse?

Rudy gets through to Asgore instead of Toriel while Toriel gets through to Carol instead of Rudy.

This is one of your moots here.

I don't know if I should say this out in the open, but I want you to at least read it.

I remember when you helped me out when I was dealing with my own despair after last year's election. I almost lost hoped that things could ever get better and I even wanted to let go of the concept of hope if it meant that I can be at peace with myself. But when I needed to seek you out for help, you were more than willing to talk to me. Just a few weeks after that, I was able to reach a conclusion about myself: I'm only human therefore I cannot foresee the future. This may seem like a negative but it's also positive. It helped me understood that the future isn't written in stone and that I can focus on where I'm at now. I've also been following another mantra after watching the HBO adaptation of Angels In America.

"The world only spins forward."

That little phrase was what's also been helping me get through these past several months because it reflects a feeling that's still relevant, regardless of whether it was said in 2003 or 1991 when the original play came out.

To me, it meant something like this.

No matter how times the leaders of the world make decisions that only do nothing but attempt to move society backwards, it's the people that truly make progress happen, whether said leaders like it or not.

I genuinely don't know if what I'm saying is helpful. I'm not certified and I'm not equipped to handle my OWN personal issues. You probably been on this planet more than I have.

However

Whatever that future may be, I want to be a part of it. I want my family and friends to be a part of it too. I especially want the people I engage with through YouTube or Social Media like Linkara to be a part of it as well. Including you.

Give up. Stop fighting for a world that is already dead. Spare your heart from being trampled upon. Give me one reason to keep fighting.
