trope i really like is self-loathing characters desperate for the catharsis of punishment for frankly rather selfish reasons who r also obsessed with repeatedly pressing others into hating them and hurting them as essentially a method of self harm. yes baby continue making it worse for urself and everybody around u instead of doing an actually productive and effective journey of improvement and redemption

I love the phrase "they get along like a house on fire". It's perfect. You and me have perfect chemistry and it's setting off the carbon monoxide detectors. People are calling emergency services to get us to stop being so chummy. Someone died

Love love love characters that present themselves as emotionally open social butterflies but the more you see of them the more obvious it is that they’re the most closed off fuckers in the story. Sure, they want to help you with your personal problems and messy emotions, but if you turn that shit back on them, they’ll shut down or deflect every time. Why are you sticking your nose in their business anyway? It’s not like it matters. They’re not a person, they’re just a role being played. They’re the guy who fixes things and saves people. Please ignore the man behind the mask, he’s fine. Everything’s fine.

Love referring to characters who are never seen without each other as "bonded pairs" like yuuuup. if you put these two in separate cages they're gonna get real sad and anxious and possibly violent too, one of em is biting the bars as we speak. you gotta adopt both of them or none at all, it is encouraged that you take them both. they are most likely to thrive if they stick together. it is easier for them to get used to new environments and situations because they have each other. they do everything together because they love each other so so much. you COULD separate them but it's gonna do a lot of psychological damage and it's gonna lead to a lot of issues and there's a big possibility they'll never be the same again

when the objectively bad person has traumatic and honestly reasonable reasons for why theyre like that but it doesnt excuse their actions and only serves to make them more tragic as a character

Eliza - Her name (excluding her middle name) is a huge allusion to a specific part of her backstory. Elizabeth means "God is my oath/promise" while Chastain means "chestnut" - so her name in full means "My god is an oath beneath the chestnut tree!"
Misha - I just like the name Misha. It's cute.
Elidi - "Gift of the sun" - it was picked because of story stuff.
Aetos - My good friend named him, actually! I wanted a name that alluded to his Three Musketeers inspiration, Athos, and it doubly fit with his theming, as it means "eagle" in Greek and he is VERY eagle-themed!
The Porthaus - All of them! Their last name alludes to the guy who inspired Porthos from the Three Musketeers, Isaac de Porthau. But their first names are all based on mythological creatures that are, in some way, related to lions! Griffin is... gryphon, obviously, Ticora is manticore, Svenson is sphinx, Mera is chimera... etc etc.
Alright pals rb with the favorite oc names you have! Not necessarily favorite ocs, just the fav names you've given (a) character(s) :]

I think most stories could benefit from having two characters whose relationship is just "those two guys" (gender neutral). Most of the time if you look for one of them you'll find both of them. They can hate each other or be the best of friends or something in-between but they just can't find that same spark with anyone else. Their relationship is best described as "do not separate them". They are fully fleshed out characters individually but if either of them are left alone without the other for any reason it feels so wrong.

two very good fictional relationship dynamics:
1. i would find you and love you in every universe. our love is inevitable and transcends reality as we understand it
2. this is the only universe where the dominos fell exactly right so that we could fall in love. we have something unique and we have overcome so much to get here

what charaxter archetypes do you keep writing into your characters that surely say nothing about your mental state. i keep making little guys who have trouble viewing themselves as a full person and instead just fixate on the role they expect others to expect them to play.

Divine Legion: Oh boy. Multimedia. To be more specific: - The main protagonists (Richard and Delilah) would have a TV format, probably animated but could be live action? Starts off as a "monster of the week" sort of thing with Richard having his hunting job when they met, and eventually becomes a lot more story-driven as characters like Bay and Robert get fully introduced. - Some side characters (the bikers, Tui and Ully) would have smaller comics to go alongside the main series. These would coincide with the main show at points, showing events from other characters' perspectives. - The main four deities would have a four-part OVA (one dedicated episode for each), since their stories are very important and set up future events for the main protagonists.
It could also be a video game, but I'm not as sure about that.
Lanternlight Cascade: Book? Probably a book. Maybe a movie. Probably a book though.
Painted Mountains: This story has already been told, and I wouldn't change its format. Roleplay. (It could also work as a game, to be fair.)
Song of the Morn: The backstory could be VERY fun if told through the lens of a music album!
Unnamed cyberpunk universe: Probably a video game or visual novel. It would benefit greatly from having multiple endings, since it's supposed to be interactive.
Luck on our Side: This was planned to be a comic, actually. I haven't worked on this universe in years though, so. :/
Eclipse: This is a Minecraft SMP server, so I'd make it a game. Once more, having multiple possible endings is a huge benefit. Though, again, this is one of those that I wouldn't change the existing format of, at least not too much.
Ninja hell: I dunno, it's a roleplay. I don't think I'd change it.
ITERATION_03's story: Meta hell. Would benefit from being internet media of some sort. Maybe even an ARG or something adjacent like Petscop.
Toontown shit: Comic for sure lmao. Would benefit from the artistic style while still having very gruesome bits. Format fuckiness too.
Amogus time loop: Visual novel.
idk im just curious cuz this is something ive been thinking abt for my own stories recently!!
