It’s....this is just such a wonderful, heart wrenching, lovely fic. I tagged it as seperate relationships because it’s kinda like...Steve’s the centerpiece and more focused on his two relationships with the loves of his life but. Whatever. It’s Steve/Bucky/Peggy really whateverrr.

I fucking loved this. I’m an emotional wreck. There’s one moment in particular where I lost it because it’s the moment when everything kind of clicks into place for Bucky and then I spent the rest of it alternating between happy and emotional tears. Goddamn.

Peggy is just.......this is so much! I absolutely love this concept and the fact that Bucky and Peggy come together before they find Steve!!! This fits so nicely into canon and even though I wish it would’ve saved Steve some suffering, this is really nice and everybody is happy in the end. LOVE IT.

Months later, when he’s sitting on the bench in the park in Washington D.C. he knows Steve Rogers jogs in, when Steve stops dead in his tracks looking like he saw a ghost (and really, he did), the first words out of his mouth are, “Have you been to Brooklyn lately?”

Thoughts:

It’s a nice change when Bucky wants nothing to do with violence after everything he’s gone through, and I really enjoy the way we slowly see why he chose to let Steve find him and how that eventually helped him unravel himself. This is a good, solid, decently long fic that I really enjoyed.

Thoughts:

This hits every wonderful wish list item I have for no-power school AUs and Bucky’s thoughts about Steve when they meet basically melted me and then the rest it was downhill from there. I shed actual tears over their fucking friendship and then watching them be idiots warmed my heart so much I shed some more. Honest to god, I just want endless fic like this and I’d never read anything else ever again.

Thoughts:

If you haven’t read these then do me the honor of allowing me to convince you to do it. First of all, I like to read these out of order, so that the timeline is right rather than the order these were published. (So 2, 1, 3.) Secondly, This is novel length and it will destroy you. It’s close enough to canon in ways that make it feel really authentic, but also there is just...there’s so much in this that is so original and refreshing compared to a lot of fic out there. Mostly, better than most, this gets the emotions PERFECTLY. The frustrating parts eventually feel worth it, which was my biggest original beef with this, but it is tied together so nicely that I can’t complain. And generally when stuff like this makes me cry like a baby multiple times....it’s good. Also! We have all the way from WWII Commandos stuff all the way to post-Winter Soldier stuff so. YEP. READ IT.

This is so fucking....huge and gorgeous and painfully fascinating??? I read it in the car on my way home from several days in the woods and I spent the whole ride like....covering my mouth and shrinking further and further down into my seat? The details and the thoughtfulness are so precise and just....well done!!! So well done! I missed Sam and Nat a lot but this works so well as just Steve and Bucky’s story and the way it all plays out is just...it’s perfect. This is probably my favorite long piece that focuses in on them intensely without getting to be...blah and overdone. And it progresses so nicely so that by the end, the description of Steve crying while Bucky pets a horse had me fuckin’ staring at the roof of the car trying not make the ride weird.

Look at the warnings, because they are no joke. There is violence and it gets pretty detailed.

Thoughts:

This always sounded so ridiculous to me because I’m not into this kind of thing but honestly the way it’s written and wrapped up is so wonderful and you should definitely give it a chance because it turns out to be a really nice read.
